Spell Bound

Chapter Twenty-Nine

Arabella

“Are you going to let me in on the plan, or are you keeping more secrets?” Valentina asks me before rolling her eyes.

“I just need a few more moments to construct it in my mind before saying it out loud. Just give me a moment to look through these pages, and I’ll tell you.”

She smiles before she nods. She picks up the leather journal, getting lost in all different kinds of potions and techniques.

I already have the plan constructed, what I am trying to figure out is why the moon goddess gave the siphon witches a moon stone to begin with.

Instead of skimming the pages of the book I really read them. Making sure I don’t say the words out loud as I do.

The moon stone helped us avenge our fallen brothers and sisters. With its powers we were able to eliminate those who tortured and killed them simply for being different.

I (Maria Perez) was originally from the lands South of the pack lands. Roman discovered me and a group of others who were born to witches but didn’t have magic to show us a new way. Siphoning.

They showed us a way for us to have access to magic, but it wasn’t accepted by most of those that are apart of our community.

Because of that we were looked down upon, not seen as equal with everyone else. They refused to interact with any of us, and we were banished from our original covens.

None of that mattered though, we all accepted and loved one another.

Soon after moving to the pack lands I met Heath.

Heath is head warrior for the North pack. Meeting him was accidental, but I’m so glad it happened.

I used to sneak away from the coven at night to see him, scared that those apart of my coven would judge me for being in love with a wolf.

Of course they eventually found out that I was seeing Heath, and to my surprise they were accepting.

We all have realized what it feels like to be treated bad solely because you’re different than someone else.

No one is better than anyone.

Soon we moved our coven to be on the borders of the North pack, and we all (the coven and the pack of wolves) celebrated our union and decided to be allies to one another.

During the celebration Heath and I snuck off to have some alone time.

As soon as we were out of earshot from the pack a white light blinded us.

We soon realized that we were meeting the moon goddess in person. I can’t even use words to describe how beautiful she is. She left Heath and I both speechless.

She spoke on how grateful she was for the siphon coven accepting the wolves for who they were and not judging them.

She was so glad that the wolves were able to have an ally in the witches and hoped that we would help one day bring peace to the witches and the wolves. She spoke on how we all would be stronger together if we let go of past hurts.

Heath and I agreed with her. We truly did hope that one day they could be peace along all of us.

She then handed me a milky white stone. She promised that we wouldn’t have to rely on the magic of others to achieve what we wanted.

She promised that the stone would be the only source of magic that our coven would ever need.

I decided to name it after her, the moonstone. (She was the one who gave us this gift after all)

She was right. It was powerful enough that we all could siphons magic off of it at the same time and not worry about it being too much.

The siphon coven received this precious gift because we acknowledged that we are not better than wolves solely based on the fact that they are a wolf.

All because Heath and I fell in love.

I fought hard to keep the shock off of my face. I knew that I wasn’t the first witch to have feelings for a wolf, but I assumed that I was the first siphon witch.

I pull the moonstone from my pocket, and really observe it. This stone is essentially the product of a wolf and a witch loving one another.

A wolf and a siphon witch.

I groan as my thoughts turn to Lucian.

I really can’t run away from this.

“What did you read that has you all up in arms?” Valentina asks.

I already promised no more secrets.

My gosh.

“Well the moon goddess gave the stone to the siphon coven because a witch and a wolf got together.” I roll my eyes. “She was so happy about the siphon coven overcoming their prejudices against wolves and decided to give them the stone.”

A smirk slowly slides onto Valentina’s face. “Don’t you see what this means? History is repeating itself!”

I roll my eyes again. “History is not repeating itself. I like the alpha okay? But nothing can come from it.”

Valentina sighs. “You come to this library to kidnap the alpha. You find the moonstone here. You use the information from

this library to kidnap the alpha. You end up mated to said alpha. You come back to the library, and find out that the moonstone you found was given to the siphon witch coven because a siphon witch loved a high ranking wolf.” She pauses for dramatic effect. “It’s fate!” She screams as she jumps from her chair.

I bite my lip. “Okay let’s play hypotheticals. If I were to be with the alpha what would you do?” I ask.

She shrugs. “Maybe I’ll stay in the pack with you guys.” She suggests. “I honestly haven’t thought that much ahead.”

“I would be the world’s biggest hypocrite.” I grumble.

“Who cares! You’re the worlds strongest witch you can do whatever you want.” Valentina waves her hand in the air. “If any of the other witches you have talked down to try anything just send them to a different continent. They’ll think twice about bothering you again.” She snickers.

“So you really would be okay if I stayed with the alpha?” I asked timidly.

Valentina lowers herself back in her seat before reaching across the table and entangling her fingers with mine. “I just want you to be happy.” She smiles at me. “That and I am sure that the alpha wouldn’t ever stop looking for you. A lifetime of looking over your shoulder and running at a moments notice is really inconvenient.” She laughs.

“Okay.”

“Okay?” She asks. “Okay as in you’re going to be with the alpha?”

“I don’t know.” I can’t believe that I am actually considering it. I never planned on being with any man, ever.

I assumed that I would grow old and die with my friend by my side. I never would have thought that I might an intimate relationship with anyone.

“Well while you decide that, there’s still one more thing. Whether or not you decide to be with the alpha, you still need to get your revenge. All of this will be for nothing if she is still breathing.”

I quirk my eyebrow up at Valentina as my eyes widen. When did she get so homicidal?

I like it.

“You’re right. Might as well get that taken care of now.” I stand up from the table. “C’mon there should be a gigantic map on the other side.”

We walk across the library, having to stop every now and then because something catches Valentina’s attention.

I understand it, this place is full of all kinds of treasures.

Valentina gasps as she looks at the large map that is laid out onto the table.

“It is impressive isn’t it?” I ask. “Do you have anything I can do a locator spell with?” I ask. This might be a little cocky, but I am sure that I am strong enough to find her without using anything of hers or my blood. I would really hate to have to waste my blood on finding my mother.

“Actually I do!” She reaches into her pocket. “It’s not the most conventional, but it’ll get the job done.”

She pulls out a tube of damn glitter.

I narrow my eyes at her as she smiles nervously.

“Where did you get that from?” I ask.

“I grabbed it out of my room right before me left. I had plans to convince you to go through at least some of your plan and the glitter was the first thing that I saw!” She holds out the tube of glitter. “You can use it. You know you can.”

I roll my eyes as I snatch the tube of glitter out of her hand. “This is ridiculous.” I grumble.

I pour the glitter in a pile on the table and close my eyes as I place my palms on the table.

I take a deep inhale of air as I concentrate all of my thoughts on my mother.

Her face appears in my mind. She always uses magic to make her curly hair pin straight,

I open my eyes to see that the glitter has spread and stopped in the middle of the pack lands. Exactly where the Alpha King and his pack is.

Where I suspect that I was being held captive.

I shift my body to face Valentina. “So you still want me to be with Alpha Lucian? You still think that it’s fate?” I ask her sarcastically.

“Maybe there’s a reason she’s there?” She asks.

“The damn wolf who has shown me that he’s always one step ahead had me within a mile of my mother and you don’t think he wasn’t going to use that as some gotcha?” I slam my hands on the table. “I don’t understand how, but he always is one step ahead and he always wants to rub it in my face.” I scoff. “And he says that I’m arrogant.”

“I still think that there’s a chance for the two of you.” Valentina whispers as she turns her eyes back to the table.

I look down at the gold bangle on my wrist.

I don’t voice my disagreement with her out loud.

Valentina may not be very happy with me after I do what I do, but I couldn’t care any less.
