Chapter Twelve
Lucian
I smile down at my mate's unconscious body.
I have no doubt that she will attempt to follow through on her threat to kill me. I have definitely drawn her ire.
I brush some of her dark curly hair out of her face. She is truly the most beautiful female I have come across. The days that I have spent being her prisoner were the best days of my life. Watching this beauty as she goes back attempting to form the perfect plan for revenge.
Her brunette hair in its natural state of wild curls almost reached her hips, and I couldn't help but watch it sway as she walked away from me. Her short and flat nose that almost resembled a button would crinkle up slightly when speaking of the disgust that she has for me and my kind. Her perfectly white teeth would sink into her bottom lip when she was attempting to interpret the language in the scrolls that she was reading.
"Has your mate been subdued yet?"
I hear Alpha Archer's voice ring through my mind.
"Yes, come through the back entrance."
I was grateful for the ability to mind link throughout my five day stay at this motel. Being in constant communication with Alpha Archer and my Beta Nolan have been one of the few things keeping me sane when Arabella wasn't around.
I hear Archer and a few other's footsteps before seeing the door open. Archer and a two of my high ranking pack members step into the room.
Archer scans the room, his eyes immediately finding my dried up blood by the chains and by my feet.
He turns and looks at my passed out mate in my arms. "Do I even want to know?" He asked before shaking his head at me.
I glance down at Arabella, this is the first time I am seeing her at peace. When she is awake she is usually glaring at me, or gloating about how easy it was to subdue me. Now, she is just peacefully asleep. I know that I need to enjoy it while it lasts.
"I might have convinced my mate to do a certain ritual with me." I said before letting out a chuckle. I scoop her up into my arms before I pick up her backpack that was full of her things, including the book that I saw her flipping through in my vision.
Archer narrowed his eyes at her as he observed her. "A ritual?"
"Yes, you should be proud. If I wouldn't have then she would have taken what she needed and fled before I can convince her to love me. Now, it will be too painful for her to stay away." I let out a low chuckle before I walk out of the room.
I hear Archer tell my pack members to clean up everything before returning to my pack before he starts to jog after me.
"Do you understand how foolish it is for you to start a ritual without her consent! What if she refuses to finish? You both die." He begins to scold me the same way that Arabella's friend scolded her. I couldn't help but smile at the parallel.
"Yes, I do understand that. You must also understand that I did not have any other choice. I am lucky she didn't use any of the wolfsbane that she had in there. Yet, if she does refuse then we will still be bound together in the afterlife." I smirk at my words. She may deny me in this life, but she will still have to deal with me in the next.
We make it to the end of the hallway and Archer reaches to push the first floor button on the elevator.
"I understand that as well. If she is as stubborn as most witches are with their beliefs than you are going to have a challenge on your hands." He states as he continues to observe Arabella.
"More stubborn than most." I say as we walk into the elevator. "She is worth the challenge that she will present."
"We should take her to King Judah's pack, he has rooms that magic cannot penetrate. So her friend won't be able to find us." Archer advises.
"Yes, along with more of that anti-magic rope, sealing the room won't stop her ability. Her magic stems right from my mark. I wouldn't put it past her to attempt to kill any of us."
Her magic wouldn't work on me, that will only make her angrier when she finds out. She will surely take that anger out on someone else.
I shift her in my arms a bit so I can brush her hair away from her neck. So I can see that beautiful mark on her.
We exit out of the elevator. "How are we going to get her to King Judah's pack?" I ask as we walk through the foyer. She's not exactly in the shape to hold onto me if I shift.
"I brought a car with me. The ride might be a little bumpy so she might wake up." Archer answers.
We make it outside and I see two large black cars waiting on us.
"No, she won't. She used those herbs on me and I was out for a couple of hours."
Archer smirked as he opened the car door to the backseat for me. "Well even if she does wake up, I am sure you will be able to subdue her." His sarcasm does nothing but remind me of hers.
I climb in the car with Arabella still in my arms. I openly stare at her while stroking her beautiful curls out of her face.
"Do you want to know another perk of me convincing my mate to start the ritual?" I ask.
Archer gets in the front seat and adjusts the mirror so he can see me. He shakes his head and begins to laugh. "Please tell me I am dying to know."
I snap my fingers, and I feel my body jump from the backseat to the front seat of the car instantly. It almost felt like someone was ripping me in half before stitching me back together.
Archer doesn't react other than raising his eyebrow. "That is fascinating. I assume that you gained her abilities and she gained yours?" He asks.
I nod. "Yes, but they won't peak for either of us until we complete the ritual."
Archer nods. "So I guess you are technically a hybrid now. The hybrid alpha. That is if your mate decides to allow you to live."
I turn to look at her peacefully sleeping form in. the backseat. "She will. Her thirst for revenge will overrule her temporary hatred for me."
Archer playfully scoffs at me. "Remember all of those times you made fun of me because of the way I acted with my mate? I can tell right now that you are going to be a thousand times worse."
He starts to car as the both of us sit and laugh.
He is right. I am going to be worse.
"Are you sure you want to be in here alone when she wakes?" King Judah asks me as I tuck Arabella into bed.
"Yes, even though this place stops magic from entering, she will still be able to do some spells. The only people that will be safe from her are Archer and myself." I stated as I brushed her hair out of her face once again. "Don't have anyone enter here, she will harm them. Just mind link me when someone comes down here to bring us food and water." I can't help but smirk as I think of my little spitfire and her violent behavior.
King Judah nods before handing me the rope that was enchanted by his witch Scarlet. "Marisol wants to meet with you soon. She is eager to hear about the days you have spent with your mate."
"I will make sure to satisfy the Queen's curiosity."
Judah smirks before he exits the room.
I place the rope under the bed, I don't have use for it at the moment. As long as no one planned on coming into the room there won't be any need for it.
I stand over her and just watch her chest rise and fall slowly as she sleeps peacefully.
This is probably the only time that I have to observe her beauty. I know the moment that she wakes up she’ll use her words in an attempt to provoke me when she realizes that her magic won’t work here.
I hear the door open and I see Archer step into the room.
“I plan to go to your pack and tell them of the situation that you are dealing with. When they learn that the reason for your absence is because you found their luna their inclination to riot will lessen."
I laugh at his sentence. If Arabella was awake to hear this it would only strengthen her argument that my kind are barbaric. I am sure that she would throw it in my face often that packs can't go too long without their leader.
Yes, it is in our nature to revolt when our leader is not within view, but that does not make us savages.
“That would be for the best. If Arabella were to witness one of my pack members challenge me in an attempt to take my position she would find me and our kind even more repulsing than she already does."
Archer glances at Arabella before making eye contact with me again. “She seems familiar. Like I’ve seen her before.”
I turn back to her, other than seeing her in Marisol’s vision I have never seen her before.
“Do you think she was apart of-“
“No.” He swiftly cuts me off. “I made sure to end all of them.”
I nod. “Well if you get an idea where you may know her from please let me know. Also, let my pack know that my mate is not exactly fond of our kind. They will be too hurt by her rejection to revolt.”
Archer nods before turning to exit my room.
I sit on the edge of the bed next to her sleeping form.
While I don’t take her rejection to my kind personal, I know that my pack will be devastated. They will be too hungry for her approval to do anything self destructive.
I have witnessed firsthand the prejudice that a witch has had for my kind melt away as she got to know and fell in love with a wolf. I know that it is possible to change the way they think.
I reach over to pick up some of chestnut hair in my hand. I slowly curl it around my finger before letting it drop.
The strands of hair fall right beside the mark that I placed onto her neck.
She made it very clear earlier today that she is aware of what I had done and how I misled her. She is not pleased with me at all, and I fully expect to have a fight on my hands when she wakes up.
I smirk as I think about her fiery temper. I am slightly tempted to try and wake her up now just to experience it once again.
Instead I walk over to her backpack that I know is full of things that will give me a little more insight on my little spitfire.
I zip it open and observe everything that is inside, before reaching my hand in to go through it. Even though it is filled to the brim with scrolls and different kinds of knick knacks I continue to dig through it until I see the book that she was reading through at the hotel.
I pull out the white book and observe it. It doesn't seem to have a title, just silver embroidery all over it.
I sit back on the edge of the bed before opening the book to read through it.
This will have to help me figure out what she plans to do, and then I will convince her to allow me to help her.
That will show her that I am worthy of her love.
