Spell Bound

Chapter Thirty-One

Arabella

“This is the last time that he makes a fool out of me. He has turned me into nothing but an embarrassment! The ancestors are surely laughing at me right now!” I grumble as a I storm through the forest.

After an entire day of being in the library I am still angry, and there hasn’t been anything that Valentina can say that will calm me down.

I’m still rattled by the knowledge that while I am potentially the most powerful being on this planet he has proven that I am no where near him intellectually.

Valentina thought that it would be best if I took a walk to clear my head after I botched the teleportation spell that was supposed to take us back to our cabin.

Her and I ended up being a few miles from the house and being flung in two different directions.

She blames my unstable emotions, while I still think that I need to learn to master the spell.

So here I am, walking through the woods like she ordered.

It has done nothing to change my mood. I know the last thing that I should do is barge in there to fight him, but I really want to.

I quickly climb up the steps of our patio, and snatch open the front door.

Valentina glances up at me, before she closes the leather spell book in her hands.

She stands and walks in front of me before I can walk away. “Are you sure this is what you want to do?”

“No, I am not one-hundred percent positive.” The lie leaves my lips quickly, trying to conceal my real feelings.

I am sure that she knows that I am lying.

Everything that Valentina has had to say over these past few hours have been waging a war in my mind.

She’s been trying to convince me that they could be holding my mother hostage, or that she had infiltrated the pack. I know my mother, she cannot be contained and if she had infiltrated the pack there would have been dead bodies.

Valentina knows that information as well, but she is spewing nonsense in an attempt to find a logical reasoning to our discovery.

For some reason she wants the alpha and I to be together.

I roll my eyes.

She sighs at me.

“I can’t go in there without a plan! I need a new plan!” I exclaim changing the subject. “I can’t just go in there blind. I need to help Marisol, kill my mother, somehow damage the alpha’s ego and get out of there in one piece.”

“That seems like a lot on your to-do list. Are you sure you will be able to do that in a timely fashion?” She asks sarcastically.

I cut my eyes at her. “I don’t have time for your disrespect. I need you to help me come up with a fool proof plan! Please Valentina.” I plead.

“I am sure that executing your plan is going to take a couple of days. You should not let the alpha know that you have caught on to what he may be doing. That means you have to be as sweet to him as you were before.” Valentina covers her mouth as she giggles at her statement. “Thats means you cannot be as hostile as you want to be. I would say immediately as you get there heal Marisol, take a day or two to somewhat extract information from him about where they keep the witches that help them so you can get rid of mother dearest, and then you can do whatever you want with the alpha.” She waves her hand in the air as she begins to walk away.

I groan as I roll my eyes at her. “You are being absolutely no help. I will go back to the damn pack and figure it out myself.”

“Wait!”

I smirk as she slowly starts to turn around, a panicked look on her face.

“I’m sorry, I’ll help you come up with a plan.” She concedes. “On one condition. I’m going with you.”

“Hmm, that wasn’t so bad.” I comment as smoothly land on my feet. This teleporting stuff isn’t all that bad, I think I’m getting the hang of it. I still had a minor headache, but it isn’t so bad so I can mostly ignore it.

“Speak for yourself.” Valentina states as she pulls herself up from the ground. She groans as she wipes leaves and dirt from her clothing. “Why couldn’t you take us back to the room that either of us were staying in!”

I smirk. “I wanted to try the teleporting to see if there would be a difference, and I think there is.”

She doesn’t respond, but she glares at me before stomping in the direction of the pack.

I am sure that Lucian already knows that I am here, because I can sense him too.

I roll my eyes, I still can’t believe that he tricked me into that stupid ritual.

I spent hours, looking over things trying to find someway to break this bond that him and I created.

Frustratingly, I only saw positive things when it comes to mating rituals.

Apparently, there were a few siphon witches that had gotten together with wolves. They used this ritual to empower one another. Giving them each their power. The witches were able to draw strenghth from the wolves and they were able to siphon magic from them whenever. The wolves were also granted magic, though they apparently never showed the aptitude to perform any significant spells.

As soon as I read that I realized that it meant that Lucian can now perform magic. I am not sure if he is aware, but I won’t be the one to tell him. It just ticked off another box of his superiority over me, and I hate acknowledging it.

Valentina stops walking as we make it to the edge of the forest. “They’ll probably separate us again.” She whispers. “If you can’t get to me in a timely fashion you need to-“

“I won’t.” I cut her off. “Everything will work out the way that it needs to. If it doesn’t.” I trail off as I check to see that the anklet resting on her ankle is sill in place. “I’ll always know where to find you.”

I’ve spelled the anklet so that a simple spell will always tell me where she is, even if someone is attempting to use magic to keep Valentina untraceable.

She takes in a deep breath before grasping my hand in hers. “Just know that whatever you decide I won’t be upset with you. You deserve to be happy.”

I don’t see why she is still hoping that the alpha and I will get together. Maybe she liked the space that she has had from me and wants Lucian to take up the time that I normally spend with her?

Although I want to argue with her when it comes to the decision that I already know I nod. There is no need for me to argue with her about this.

We step out of the trees hand in hand. I know that Lucian is near, and I almost feel him guiding me towards him. It’s almost as if I can hear him in my head, telling me where to go.

When we make it to the steps of the pack house, Lucian and the Alph King come into view.

Lucian’s eyes immediately narrow in on Valentina and I’s hands interlocked. “Are you attempting to make me jealous?” He growls out.

Valentina immediately snatches her hand away from mine at the sound.

I rolled my eyes as I climb the steps. “I figured out how to save her.” Is all I say as I pass by them.

Lucian’s hand reaches out to grab my arm.

I stop my movements, but don’t turn around.

He pulls my back to his chest, nuzzling his face into my neck. “I missed you.” He says before pressing small kisses to my neck.

I roll my eyes. There is no use in denying his claims, I am sure that he has the ability to see through my lies. “I think that we should focus on your queen.” I say as I attempt to struggle out of his arms. “I found a way to save her I thought that you would be more concerned with that.”

I feel Lucian smirk against my neck before releasing me. “I know that you missed me too. I felt it.”

“I think it would be best to focus on what needs to be done.” Valentins says as she climbs up the steps.

“Tell me what exactly you have planned. I won’t put it past you to attempt to hurt my mate in an attempt to get back at Lucian.” Judah sneered at me.

“If I wanted to get back to Lucian then I would get back at him directly. There is no need for a middle man.” I snap back.

Lucian wraps his arm around my waist, pulling me into his body. “He is protective over his mate, just like I am protective of you.” He purrs into my ear.

I roll my eyes. “Fine. We can have a conversation inside.”

“I will have Valentina escorted to her room. Unless she is a part of your plan.”

Valentina smiles at Lucian’s words, she is probably ready to lay down once again. I know that the only thing she is going to miss about staying here is the surprisingly comfortable bed in the room that she has been staying in.

“Come, Bella.” Lucian said as guides me through the pack house’s door. “I am sure that we have much to discuss.”

“My office.” Judah says gruffly.

I turn around to give Valentina a reassuring smile before turning to where I am walking.

I should have known that the king wouldn’t just let me waltz in and perform magic on his mate. This will probably make the process more irritating.

An Alpha King that is looking for any cracks in my story, trying to see if I am trying to pull one over on him. While Lucian continues to be desperate for any kind of affection that he can get from me.

When we make it to Judah’s office I swipe Lucian’s hands off of my hips befofe walking through the door.

Valentina advised me to return any affection that he gives me, but I know that she is secretly hoping that I act on my feelings for the wolf. Lucky for me the only thing that I am feeling is annoyance.

I take a seat in the chair in front of the desk as Lucian sits next to me, and Judah sits at the desk.

“So tell me what it is that can save my mate.” Judah demands.

I reach in my pocket and pull out the moon stone. “This is the moon stone, it was created by your moon goddess. To make a long story short, it is filled with tje kind of magic that is running through your mate’s body. I will only need to transfer some of its magic to her and it will ovewhelm the blood magic that is hurting her.”

I feel Lucian’s hand brush through my straightened hair. “I have heard stories of the moon stone, but I never thought it was real. Tell me how you found this information.” He demands softly.

“There used to be a coven of just siphon witches. There is a library that I have found full of information that helped me. I think it was theirs.” I try my best not to give away too much information. The last thing that I need is one of them ambushing me there after I make my escape. There is still so many things that I need to learn that I know only that place can give me.

“Tell me more about the magic that is in the stone.” Judah’s voice snaps me out of my thoughts.

“The moon goddess has pure magic, so when she uses it on objects or people, it becomes light magic. There is a little bit of light magic that runs through all wolves because she is your creator. The amount of light magic that is in Lucian’s body is more than the average because she chose him to be the Alpha of the North and helped him. The amount of light magic that runs through your mates body is more because she needs it to survive. The amount of light magic in the moon stone should be more than enough because the entire siphon coven could draw power from here and not worry about it not being able to handle.”

“Alright then let’s go.” Judah states as he stands up from the desk.

“I have a few conditions before I do this.”

Judah narrows his eyes, before letting out a low growl. “Are you attempting to bargain my mates life with me.” He the wood on the desk splinters around his grip.

“Yes, I am and since you want to save your mate I am positive that you will listen.”

“My little spitfire you are playing a very dangerous game.” Lucian warns, as he begins to slowly pull the chair that I am sitting in closed towards him. I can tell that he is worried that his King is going to attack me. His posture does show that he is ready to fight, but I know that he is going to fight his instincts.

Why would he attack the only person that is able to save his mate?

“I want for the anti-magic barrier to be completely down.” I say to Judah even though he didn’t ask. I turn to Lucian. “I want to see the firestone.”

Lucian smirks at me. “I knew that you would want to see it eventually. I’ll ask Archer to bring it over.”

“Fine!” Judah growls out. I can tell that he is mind linking something, and a few seconds later I feel the weight of the magic suppressant leaving my shoulders.

“Good.” I breathe out. “Now I am going to need a hour or two of rest. If I perform any magic right now I am sure that my head will explode.” I stand from my seat.

“We can rest in our room. I have been desperate to have you in my arms.” Lucian states before leading me out of the office.

“It hasn’t even been three days, why are you acting this way?” I ask.

“Because I never want to be away from you. I want to always be by your side.” His grip on my hand tightens. “Is it not the same for you?” He asks.

I don’t respond as I observe the empty hallways.

He has been too eager to drags me to the room that he has declared as ours.

He doesn’t seem to mind much that I didn’t answer his question, he has yet to lose the pep in his step.

He quickly ushers me to our room before slamming the door shut.

“Bella.” Is all he states before placing his lips on mine.

I tried to fight it, I wanted to curse him out and threaten him. Let him know that if he ever dares to touch me again that I’ll end him.

Instead, I melt into his kiss.

I grasp at his clothing, attempting to pull him as close to me as possible.

He pulls away, grasping at my chin. “Tell me that you missed me.” he demands.

I whine as I attempt to reconnect our lips.

He picks me and lays my back gently on the mattress. I feel my cheeks flush as he crawls over my body. “Tell me the truth, my little spitfire.” He brushes his thumb against my bottom lip. “And I will give you what you want.”

My body shudders under his touch. This is not going to plan whatsoever, but in this moment I can’t find it in myself to care.

This entire time he has been desperate for my affection, and the second that I offer it he wants to deny me it. I’m unsure of whatever game that he is playing, the only thing that I know is that he is winning.

“I miss you.” I admit before pulling him down to kiss me.

I hate that I have once again lost one of his stupid games. I needed this win against him, I need any win that I can get.

It’s annoying that even after a few days away from him he still has this hold over me.

That he already knew the truth.

That I deeply missed him.
