Chapter 1248
Chapter 1248 Let Me Out
"Ah! Who are you? And why are you here?"
The little female spirit in the red dress turned around and was terrified to see Alex unexpectedly in this place. She screamed in fright.
Alex was left speechless. Shouldn't I be the one asking her that question? Instead of reincarnating after death, she came here to disrupt others' lives. And now, she's pretending to be innocent while putting the blame on others first?
"I should be the one asking you that question! Come on. Who exactly are you? Why are you targeting Quade's family?" Alex questioned the spirit.
"I... I don't know! I don't even know why I'm here in this place. Your ability to get in indicates that you are not an ordinary person either, so maybe you can help me escape as well! I'm really losing my mind now!" said the little female spirit as she rubbed her face incessantly, on the verge of a mental breakdown.
The female spirit before him seemed somewhat peculiar, which made Alex hesitate to act recklessly. It was his first encounter with such a situation, and he couldn't shake off the feeling that something was amiss.
This female spirit isn't afraid of any talisman, or the Thunder Palm. She just wants to escape from this place. Could it be that the people from the Elysian Guild deliberately trapped her here? But what could be their purpose?
"Tell me everything you know," Alex asked the little girl in the red dress.
The spirit standing before Alex was originally a high school sophomore named Megan Vale. She would only commute between her house and school every day, and she was an obedient girl with decent grades as well.
One day, on her way home from school, Megan was murdered. When she woke up again, Megan found herself in this place, unable to leave no matter what she did.
Upon hearing about Megan's incident, Alex felt a pang of regret for the seventeen-year-old, who was as beautiful as a blooming flower, yet was brutally murdered.
As much as he pitied her, Alex still needed to find a way to solve the issue. He had to release Megan and send her to the netherworld to be reincarnated. That way, Alex could continue to fulfill the request from the people in the Mountain of the Beasts in order to save Stanley.
"Please, I beg you. Get me out of here! I can't stand another minute in this place. I'm going insane! I want to leave! Even if it means going to the depths of hell, it's better than staying here!" Megan said hysterically, her emotions on the verge of collapse.
Alex couldn't understand why Megan was behaving that way. Was it really that terrifying to wander around Quade's house?
"Just calm yourself down first. Don't worry. I'll definitely get you out of here and let you be reincarnated," Alex comforted.
He only went there to follow the wishes of the folks from the Mountain of the Beasts, and while he was there, he decided to help Quade sort out some family matters that had been bothering him. However, he now found himself comforting a female spirit. Suddenly, Alex felt quite contemptuous of himself.
At that moment, Megan grabbed Alex's hand. She was choked with emotion as she asked, "Will you really take me out of here? I want to go home to see my parents. Please, take me out of here. You don't know how terrifying this place is!"
Terrifying?
Alex was somewhat puzzled by Megan's words. He didn't find anything frightening about the place at all. After all, they were merely in an endless void, with no signs of any ferocious beasts! Just then, Megan spoke again. "I've been trapped here for a week now. You have no idea what I go through every day."
She continued, "Every corridor in this building has a corpse hanging from it, and I mean every single corridor. The most terrifying part is that they all look exactly like me. It feels as if I'm the one hanging there!"
Listening to Megan's words, Alex remembered how he had followed her from the ninth floor down to the first, and from there to the top floor. Every time they reached a new floor, Megan would become incredibly frightened. After hearing her explanation, Alex finally understood the reason.
