Despite being smaller than the other one, this man-eating bear was still over six feet tall. The tree the man had climbed seemed
rather delicate in comparison to its intimidating figure.
Man-eating bears were slightly more intelligent than ordinary brown bears. The two bears grabbed onto the trees and began to
shake them.
The young man in the tree was already scared in the first place, and being targeted by the man-eating bear only terrified him to

Meanwhile, the larger man-eating bear had also set its sights on the people atop the trees, and the tree it chose was the one that
Jordan had climbed.
Upon seeing that, Jordan turned pale with fright. He never expected that the man-eating bear would target him so quickly. Even
someone as calm as him could not keep his composure.

The two man-eating bears were simultaneously hitting the trees, and the timid man on the other side was already on the verge of
falling. He would most likely fall off before the bear even broke the tree with its. blows, whereas Jordan was still tenaciously
clinging onto the tree.
Elijah, who was watching the situation unfold from a distance, cried out with sympathy, “Alex, let’s hurry and save them! If we
don’t, they’ll be killed by the man-eating bears.”
With so many lives at stake, Alex would still help them even if Elijah did not ask him to. Hence, he nodded at the other man and
said, “Let’s go and take a look.”
Elijah knew that Alex’s abilities were more than enough to take on the two man-eating bears as soon as the latter agreed to help.
“Thank you, Alex. You truly are the bravest person I’ve ever met. I’m sure you’ll become the guardian of the Holy Land,” Elijah
praised sincerely.
Alex did not utter another word and walked toward the group.
Jordan, who was up in the tree, naturally saw the two men approaching. He was somewhat confused to see them heading in his
direction. There are two man-eating bears here. Are they truly not afraid of death? Or are they simply unaware of what’s going
on here?
Jordan did not give it much thought. He was in a precarious situation and could fall off the tree at any
moment.
Since those two are heading this way, why not have them attract the attention of the man-eating bears? With that thought,
Jordan said to the bear under his tree, “Quick, look behind you. Two people are approaching. They are hunters from the village,

often carrying rifles to hunt in the area. Once... Once they even killed a young man-eating bear. In their eyes, you guys are
simply no match for them!”
Jordan made his last-ditch effort. He could only hope that the man-eating bears could understand his
words and shift their attention to Alex and Elijah.
Right after Jordan spoke, the man-eating bears stopped hitting the trees and twisted their necks to look in the direction where
Alex and Elijah were rushing over.
Jordan was surprised that not only were the man-eating bears intelligent, but they could also understand the human language.
He could not help but rejoice and added, “It’s these two people. They even vowed to kill all the man-eating bears on the back of
the mountain, saying that such ugly creatures shouldn’t exist in this world.”
Alex and Elijah, who were approaching quickly, did not expect Jordan to say such a thing.
Elijah was furious. He never expected Jordan to come up with that. Isn’t this repaying kindness with enmity?
“Jordan, how could you be so despicable and shameless? I was the one who begged Alex to come and save you all, but I never
expected you to repay kindness with enmity. If I had known, I would have just watched you suffer!” he said indignantly.
Jordan, who still had his arms around the tree, scoffed disdainfully. “If you knew there were man-eating bears here, would you
still have come? Who are you trying to fool? Do you think the two of you can go up against a man-cating bear? That’s just
ridiculous.”
Elijah’s words caught the attention of the man-eating bear. It released its hold on the tree and raced toward him and Alex.
