Some Mate You Are...

Chapter Jealousy

I hurried upstairs to Enzo and I’s bedroom and jumped into the shower. Upon emerging from the bathroom, I noticed Enzo sitting on the bed, waiting for me. His eyes roamed over my body and he licked his lips. I clutched my towel a bit tighter to myself. I could sense the sudden lust emanating from him as he rose from the mattress and began stalking towards me. His nostrils flared and his eyes darkened with desire, his scent began to envelope me, invading my senses.

Enzo’s hands reached out and clutched my waist, pulling me into him as a low, needy growl escaped his lips. I knew what he wanted and a large part of me craved that as well. We were newly mated, after all. But instead of giving in as he leaned towards me with his plan to claim my lips. I controlled my raging hormones and placed my hand on his chest, pushing against him, lightly, trying to put some distance between us.

“I am afraid that we need to talk first.” I explained as a look of confusion covered his features.

I knew that he did not like it when I pushed him away. After forcing so much space between us before, he desired nothing more than to minimize it now. Some days I wondered if the only way he would be satisfied is if we were attached at the lips.

“What is there to talk about that cannot wait until after I’ve had the chance to pleasure you?” Enzo questioned; his brow cocked.

The look in his eyes causing my resolve to melt just a little. But I chose to hold firm in my stance, keeping the distance between us.

“You know as well as I do that if we get going, then we’ll be at it for the rest of the night.”

He could not argue against that. He knew that I was right. Once we got started, we usually spent the rest of the night wrapped up in each other until, finally, we collapsed in exhaustion.

“Is it really that important?” Enzo pressed, attempting to lean in and kiss my neck, trying to distract me once more.

“I am afraid so.” I confirmed, gently pushing him away from me again.

“Alright.” He relented with an over-exaggerated sigh. “What do we need to talk about?”

He released his grip on me, submitting to my insistence. His shoulders slumped as he walked back over to the bed and dropped on to it, seeming dejected. I could not help the giggle that found its way out of me at his dramatic behavior. He was pouting as if someone had just taken away his favorite toy.

“I just wanted to discuss the Accession Ceremony and the...uh...guest list.” I began feeling a bit uncertain.

I needed to word all of this correctly. I did not want it to seem like I was accusing him of something. I knew that he was behaving as many high-ranking wolves did when it came to their mates. I was not trying to blame him for anything. I just wanted to make sure that he realized and understood how he was acting, so perhaps he could try harder to control this behavior during the ceremony.

“What about the guest list? Isn’t it fairly typical for these kinds of events?” Enzo questioned with a shrug.

“Well...as I’m sure you know...we sent an invitation to the Blue Moon Pack.” I ventured, carefully, wading my toes in the water.

“Of course. They are allies. Plus, of course, you would want Kiara here.”

“Yes. But I found out earlier today that...well...umm...Alpha Timber is also planning on coming.”

I could see the sudden flare of anger sparking up within Enzo’s eyes. His jealousy was quickly taking the reigns. I had to move swiftly if I was going to keep this situation calm.

“Why would Timber come?” Enzo demanded. “Isn’t it enough that Kiara and her mate will be here to act as their pack’s representatives?”

“I suppose not.” I admitted. “But I think this could be a good thing.” I included, trying to bring things into a new light and keep Enzo grounded. “Perhaps Timber hopes to bury the hatchet so that we could move forward together in our alliance. Keeping relations in good standing between the packs. Showing a strong partnership to any who may believe it to be different.”

“Yeah. I guess.” Enzo grumbled in response.

“You are going to need to control your urges, Enzo.” I finally stated, getting to the point. “I know that things are still a little tense with Timber, but you are going to have to let that go and leave it in the past. We cannot be having fights breaking out at the ceremony, especially not with allies. Timber will only be there to pay his respects as is tradition.”

Enzo took a deep breath and let it out slowly before responding. I could tell that he was doing his best not to allow his emotions to get the better of him in regard to Timber’s presence. I was proud of him for trying, that was really all that I could ask of him. Alphas were highly passionate wolves; when they had feelings on a topic, they usually felt them quite strongly.

“As long as he keeps his hands to himself then we should be fine.” Enzo ground out.

Then he paused taking a moment to right himself again before continuing.

“I know that I have been a little overprotective lately. I do apologize about that. I had been fighting my instincts for so long when it came to us, they have all kind of rushed forward at once now that I am not denying our relationship any longer. It has been overwhelming, to say the least. But, I know that it’s my problem, and only mine. So...I am going to try harder to control myself.” He promised.

“I appreciate that and I do understand why you are struggling. And I promise you that you do not have to worry about Timber keeping his hands to himself. We need to remember that you and I were at fault in that situation. Timber was an unfortunate casualty of it all. I guarantee that he is no longer interested in me. His opinion of me changed completely when he found that you and I are mates.”

“Good.” Enzo growled out, reaching out for me to pull my body closer to his again. “Just as it should be.”

I rolled my eyes at him, playfully, as I allowed him to yank me into his lap. I had said my piece, so there was no reason to keep forcing the distance between us.

“Don’t roll those beautiful eyes as me.” He joked.

Before I had a chance to respond, his tongue peeked out of his mouth and began to trail, slowly, over my mark. He began to kiss his way up my throat, stopping at my jaw, I could feel him smiling against the flesh of my neck as he elicited a soft moan to pass through my lips.

“How can I not be jealous and possessive when it comes to you? I am mated to the most beautiful she-wolf in all of the land. You’ve had three Alphas fall to their knees for you, willing to give you anything. I just want to make sure that everyone knows who you belong to without a doubt.” He admitted as his hands gripped my ass, turning me so that I was now straddling him.

His hands began to explore my curves as his mouth found my neck again. He began to suck and nibble at my flesh, causing my core to ignite to life, the scent of my arousal beginning to fill the air. But I did my best to remained focused, wanting to finish our conversation before we got to the more pleasurable activities of our evening.

“I think that you accomplished announcing your claim on me when you finally marked me.” I teased, reminding him that everyone could clearly see that I was claimed.

He hummed against my neck, refusing to remove his lips from my flesh. It was then that another thought occurred to me as I considered his words, playing them over again in my mind.

“Wait…three Alphas?” I questioned in confusion. “Who is this third Alpha?”

“Don’t think that I forgot about Alpha Harm.” He growled against me, his face dropping down to my chest as he worked to loosen the towel from my form.

“Alpha Harm?!” I responded in complete surprise.

To be honest, I HAD forgotten about Alpha Harm. He was charming, sure. But there was never any real spark between us. Not to mention, he had really put me off when he had talked so dismissively about his mate. He would have been willing to completely blow her off, likely hurting her in the process, just for the chance to have one night with me. I found his behavior rather distasteful and I had put him out of my head.

“Alpha Harm never mattered to me. Not even for a moment.” I admitted.

I reached up a hand and placed it under his chin, lifting his face towards mine. Without another word, I claimed his mouth with my lips and did my best to pour all my emotions into this kiss. Enzo was the only one that I wanted. The only one that claimed my thoughts. And as he turned us around, placing my back against the mattress and pressing himself against me, without breaking our kiss. All thoughts of Alpha Timber, Alpha Harm, or any other wolf for that matter, were erased from my mind.

-------------------------Unknown Point of View------------------------

He sat at his desk and grasped the invitation, tightly, in his hand. He stared at it with fury burning in his eyes. He should have known that this would happen. He had sensed that there was something more going on between them. He had seen the look in their eyes when they had glanced at each other. He had noticed the tension in Enzo’s form anytime that he had touched her.

He crushed the card in frustration, forcing it into a crinkled ball. He did not care what Enzo had wished for. Or what is was that Marvel wanted. He did not concern himself with what the Moon Goddess desired. He had no intentions of respecting the mate bond. He had made plans for Marvel the moment that he first laid eyes on her. She was the most captivating creature that he had ever met and he was devastated that they had not been paired together by fate.

However, he had decided rather quickly, that he was not going to allow something so trivial to keep them apart. He wanted her and he always got what he wanted. Now that this Accession Ceremony had been announced, he was merely going to have to move his plans up a little. He did not really see this as a problem though. It was not as if the timeline really mattered much, he would just have to find the best time to catch her off guard. Preferably when she was alone, but he would take what he could get.

He had been putting together a plan for the last several months. He was going to make Marvel his whether she wanted it or not. They were made for each other despite the fact that they were not actually mates. He was positive of this, not a doubt in his mind. And he felt certain that after some careful persuasion, she would eventually submit to his desires. After all, what was not to love? He was certainly a better choice than Enzo.

He had always hated Enzo finding him cocky and arrogant. It only made his rage burn that much more when he found out that the she-wolf of his dreams was fated to be with that sorry excuse for an Alpha wolf.

He rose from his desk and walked over to the fireplace and stared for a moment into the dancing flames. He took the crumbled up invitation and tossed it into the inferno, watching as it ignited and withered away. It was not as though he would need it anyway. He had absolutely no intention of allowing this Accession Ceremony to actually occur.

In a matter of just a couple of days, he planned to have Marvel in his arms and, once she was there, he would never let her go.
