Chapter 89
XANDER
The plague is finally over. After using the powder that Alpha Gabriel brought a couple of days ago, the entire pack finally healed. Everything has gone back to how they used to expect my feelings.
The palace feels empty without Maliya in it. Heck, I feel completely empty without Maliya in my life. I don’t know when I got so used to her but now, I don’t want to go back to how I used to live before she moved in.
The room felt stuffed so I decided to take a stroll but my mind was too cloudy to think about anything else but Maliya. I walked around the palace and all I could see was her smile. How peaceful she always looked when she thought no one was looking at her.
The image of Maliya had erupted in my vision and all I wanted was to find her and bring her back.
“Alpha,” Lord Williams called me from behind, making me turn back to face him expectantly. I have never had my hope’s high on anything or anyone before but I was desperate to find Maliya and I just couldn’t help it.
“Did you find them? Where is Maliya? What of the seer? I don’t know where they are hiding, but it shouldn’t be across someone in the globe, should it? Speak to the Alpha of the neighboring packs. I have helped them all one way or the other. They should be able to help me confirm if Maliya is in their pack,” I said out of frustration.
“Alpha, we are trying. We have looked everywhere. We even went into the woods to search thoroughly. The cliff in case she falls which we hope that wasn’t the case. We have looked everywhere but we can’t seem to find her. Maybe I’ll try speaking to the Alphas then if they can help us with the search, Lord Williams said and I sighed.
“What about the seers?”
Up until now, we still can’t find them. It seems like they have planned everything thoroughly. They disappeared the moment they left this place and to make matters worse, no one recognized them,” he announced.
“Call madam Rosalie for me. I need to know where she finds those people and how she can get them back,” I ordered and Lord Williams bowed before taking his leave.
A few minutes later, Madam Rosalie arrived and she was looking hale and healthy unlike when we came back from the Greenwood Pack.
“Alpha, you sent for me,” she said and I nodded.
The seers you called over the last time, where did you find them? How did you hear of them?” I asked with a frown.
“I don’t know them personally. I heard a few people praising them for how they have helped them some time ago when I went into the market. That was how I learned to hear about them. And when you asked me to send for them, I happened to come across them that same day by chance. I don’t know where they live or anyone that can help to find them,” Madam Rosalie confessed as she looked at the floor out of shame.
“So you brought people here without verifying their identities,” I scoffed in disbelief.
I’m sorry, Alpha, I didn’t think it through,” she apologized and I couldn’t help but dismiss her out of anger.
Even Madam Rosalie doesn’t know how to find them. What am I going to do now?
I haven’t been able to sleep a wink since the day I heard Maliya is missing. My men had gone everywhere to search for her but it has always been the same story; we can’t find her anywhere. It was starting to drive me insane and I don’t know what to do anymore.
I decided to head back inside when I came across Alpha Gabriel and his daughter on the way.
The way they are frequently visiting the Pack is starting to get on my nerves but they were also the one who helped to save the Pack from a plague so I guess I owe them one.
“I didn’t know you were coming,” I said as I headed to the meeting room and they followed after me.
“How is everyone doing now? We came back to check the progress to know if everything is fine,” Alpha Gabriel announced as we all took our seats.
“Everyone is doing fine now. Thank you so much for saving the Pack. If you hadn’t helped, there is a probability that the people would still be suffering. Thank you,” I said and a smile fell on Alpha Gabriel’s lip.
“It’s not much of a big deal. I believe you would do the same if you were in the same position,” Alpha Gabriel said and I nodded.
I have never partake in anything that would not be beneficiary to me and I believe Alpha Gabriel was just like me which made me wonder what he wants in return. I have made it clear that I cannot marry his daughter, but still, he couldn’t have done it for free.
“I know that you couldn’t have done me a huge favor without expecting anything in return,” I pointed and they both smiled as if they had been expecting me to say this.

“What do you want in return?” I asked and Alpha Gabriel’s expression switched from a playful one to a serious one.
“Before you mention anything, let me make it clear that I will not marry your daughter because I made that much clear before you gave me the powder too,” I reminded them and Alpha Gabriel chuckled..
“I believe you made that clear already, so no, that is not what we want in return,” Alpha Gabriel said and I nodded, as I urged him to continue.
“So what do you want then? Don’t tell me you want nothing in return because I don’t believe it and I certainly don’t like owning people either,” I announced.
“Alliance, that is what we want. We don’t need your money or anything else because I believe we have enough of those. What we want is to form an alliance with you so that we can work together,” he said.
“Alliance?” I asked again and they nodded, confirming that I was right. “Explain so that I can understand. Of all the things you could have asked for, why are you asking for this and what do you intend to gain?” I asked with a frown.
I act alone and do my things alone. I.cam have a good relationship with someone in one minute and turn against them the next minute. I really don’t care about what relationship I have with people which makes me wonder why they chose that of all things.
“It’s nothing really. We just want to be a close friend and also, for you to treat us right and we are good. I noticed how hostile you can get sometimes so I don’t wish more than that,” Alpha Gabriel said casually as if it wasn’t a big deal. Maybe it really wasn’t a big deal, but I can’t help but think that there is more to it.
I gave them a questioning look as I stared at them for a while, but it was difficult to tell what they were thinking about especially when they were looking at me like that.
“Fine. If that is what you want, so be it.”
“We heard that you are looking for a woman pregnant with your child,” Sabrina said and I couldn’t refrain myself from glaring at her at the mention of Maliya. “I hope you find her soon because it’s a crazy world out there and I don’t think anyone can survive on their own,” she said, making me worried about Maliya even more.
MALIYA
I have been feeling weak since I woke up and it doesn’t make any sense, considering how I have been feeling completely fine for the past few days.
My body felt numb and I couldn’t feel my legs and arms or even move them.
What is happening to me? Why can’t I move my body? It felt like I was in a prickle and no matter how hard I struggled to move, I just couldn’t. Instead, it only doubled the pain I was feeling.
“Anyone out there! Help!” I screamed on top of my lungs but my words came out barely as a whisper. I could hardly hear myself not to talk of anyone behind those doors hearing me.
“Is this why the seer wouldn’t let me go? Because I was still sick?” I thought to myself when I started recalling how she had threatened to kill me.
I bet she isn’t concerned about my wellbeing one bit. Is she the one that is making me go through this pain then?
My body felt so sore. It was as if someone poured hot water and pepper on my body at once from the way it was burning and aching at the same
time.
“Somebody help!” I cried for help but my voice felt so tiny that even if someone was sitting in the same room with me, they wouldn’t have heard
- me.
Tears streamed down my face as I thought about my ill luck and I couldn’t stop crying.
Just then, the door cracked open and Caludia walked in. A smile spread across my face the moment I saw her and relief washed over me.
Finally! I think Alpha Xander has found me.
“Claudia, please help. My body feels so numb and I can’t move,” I said as I looked at her with a pleading eyes but she ignored me and just went to open the drawer in the room to pick something.
“Claudia! Claudia!” I screamed in case she couldn’t hear me but as soon as she picked what she wanted to pick, she turned back to look at me with a proud smirk on her face.
That is a smile, right? She’s happy to see me right? Why isn’t she coming to my rescue?
“Help.. me,” I managed to voice out and she only chuckled in response.
“Help you? Why should I do that?” She asked with a scowl on her face and it felt as if my heart stopped beating for a second.
No. No. No. This cannot be Claudia.
