Sold To The Untouchable Alpha

Chapter Dinner

[lvan's POV]

I watched as Arissa stood there looking like a deer in headlights. Her bright blue eyes, which were usually striking, stood out even more thanks to the eye makeup that Christine had applied and her full lips, which were now painted red, popped open in an audible "Oh".

Skimming down her body, I took in the much too tight black dress that I had specifically picked out for her and felt a surge of appreciation. Just as I had expected, it hugged all her curves just right, allowing her huge breasts to stick out just enough to tease, but not enough to make her come out as a whore. Not to mention that ass that I was still very disappointed that I wouldn't be able to touch, was hugged perfectly, making it appear even bigger than it actually was.

Her long blond hair, that usually hung limply down her shoulders, or was held up in a ponytail, was fixed into an intricate braid that was wrapped tightly at the top of her head and surrounded by a silver wreath of diamond flowers.

She was breathtaking, and I was beginning to have second thoughts about bringing her along with me to see my brother and old man.

"What the hell are you staring at?" Arissa finally growled, drawing my attention back to her face. "I'm a human, not a piece of meat, you pervert."

"I don't think you're in any position to call me that.” I pointed out, taking a few steps forward, so I was standing close enough to her to feel her warmth seeping into my skin. "Who is the one that keeps walking in on me and Carina? Or the one that keeps attempting to touch a woman that she doesn't even know? Oh! Not to mention the one that... *

"That's enough.” She hissed, lifting a hand and covering my mouth before I could continue to give away her misdeeds.

Feeling a surge of amusement rush through me, I stuck out my tongue and allowed it to glide up her palm, causing her to stumble backwards with a girly yell.

"EW."

I held back my laughter as she began to rub her palm against her dress as her mouth fell into an irritated frown.

"Was that necessary?" She asked once she was satisfied that my saliva was fully gone.

"Of course.” I smirked, reaching into my pocket and pulling out my watch to check the time. "And as much as I would love to continue to stand here and flirt with you, we need to get going.”

Nodding, Arissa turned to Christine and put what I assumed was her version of a smile on her face. "Thank you.” She said slowly and awkwardly.

It was clear from how she spoke that she had never said those words before. She also seemed extremely uncomfortable as she said them, and I felt a pang of pain rush through me.

"It was my job." Christine responded, trying to hide her embarrassment. "Also, please stop making that ridiculously fake smile.”

I watched as Arissa’s face flushed red from embarrassment and her attempt at a smile faltered. "Okay." She was all she said before heading to the door, not bothering to see if I was coming along. "You're free to take the rest of the evening off." I called to Christine as I turned and followed Arissa out of the room. "You did a good job, by the way."

Christine simply smirked before giving a bow.

Outside, there was a carriage waiting for us, and Arissa was already making her way into it. Rushing forward, I managed to grab her as she stepped on the hem of her dress and stumbled.

"Thanks." She huffed, not bothering to attempt to put up a front about the fact that I was touching her. "These things are annoying.” She continued after fully climbing into the carriage and taking a seat.

"Or you're extremely clumsy." I laughed, following suit and taking my place beside her.

For a moment, she eyed me suspiciously as I leaned against the seat and relaxed.

"What?" I asked when she continued to stare at me. "Are you finally finding me handsome and appealing?"

"Hell no!" She snapped, scooting away from me. "I'm just wondering why the hell you're sitting beside me when there is a completely open bench across from us."

Turning my gaze to the empty seat she was referring to, I just shrugged.

"Why would I sit there alone when I can have company over here?"

Her gaze narrowed, and her lips clenched into a tight line. I had to admit, picking on her was fun because she had the cutest reactions.

"You're really irritating. Did you know that?" She sighed, crossing her arms.

"Hm, I don't think anyone has ever told me."

Rolling her eyes, she turned her attention to the window and kept them there as the carriage began to move. Despite her attempt to seem calm and cool about the situation, from the way her hands clamped against her upper arms, I could tell that she was actually feeling pretty nervous about having to face my father and Isaac.

The sudden urge to reassure her flared through me, but I didn't act on it, knowing that she would simply retaliate with sarcasm and bristles. If I truly wanted to get this woman to open up to me, I would have to consider a different approach.

It didn’t take long for us to arrive at my father's mansion. The entire building glowed with life, and guards eyed us from the roof with their weapons at the ready. Leave it to him to always be on alert, even when it was just his son coming for dinner.

"You pissed the guy off?" Arissa asked as her gaze followed mine. "That's some firepower."

"He is getting paranoid with his old age." I sighed, holding out my arm. "Now, let's get this show on the road, shall we?"

"Show?" She asked, giving a pointed gaze at my arm. "You expect me to take that?"

"Wouldn't it be amusing to see the looks on their faces if they saw us being intimate?" I chuckled. "Hm," For a moment, I wasn't sure if she was going to agree, but soon she let a small smile form on her face. "Why the hell not?"
