Sir, Madame Has Run Away Again Chapter 445

Chapter 445

“Let’s see,” I said. The following afternoon, Jenny and I boarded the flight to London. Since there were no direct flights from Oakland to London, we had to transfer in Los Angeles before arriving in London at four o’clock. The long journey left me exhausted, so I went to bed after having a meal in the

hotel.

I slept through the night, then went to Kensington Roof Gardens with Jenny after waking up and having breakfast the next morning. Information about Kensington Roof Gardens I could easily recite; it was located on the roof of an unassuming building on Kensington High Street, which in turn was in London’s bustling city centre.

Built in 1938, it occupies a space of 6,000 square meters and is divided into three themed gardens, including a Spanish garden, a Tudor-style clandestine garden and an English water garden.

Not only did we admire the luxurious decoration of the garden and the exotic plants it contained, but we also came face to face with live flamingos. Furthermore, the garden was filled with thousands of blooming daffodils, autumn crocuses, grape hyacinths, and also anemones.

It was hard to imagine that all the lush vegetation was planted in soil just 1.5 meters thick, creating a mesmerizing landscape alongside the aforementioned intricate architecture.

In the garden there was a club that operated on an exclusive membership basis. As soon as we entered the elevator, we could see intricate fantasy-themed decorations and psychedelic colored lights. There were hookahs in the Moroccan-themed hallway leading to the main courtyard, while we could look out over the London cityscape while enjoying a meal in the barbecue area.

The sky garden Eric was planning was reminiscent of Kensington Roof Gardens, so I was more interested in it, which led to me staying in London for three days, visiting the gardens every day.

During my entire stay in London, my parents called to remind me to look after myself, while Carson also called to ask about me. I also received calls from Isabella, during which she told me that Robin received an eleven-year sentence, as well as a fifty million fine as compensation for the victim.

Other than that, she also told me about the vision of Jolene and Jessica together at the bar when she went for drinks. The two seemed to have had a lot to drink as they couldn’t even walk straight.

I wasn’t worried about them meeting since Jessica met Jolene through me. When Jolene and I were still friends, Jessica got in touch with her during my birthday party, but they only chatted for a bit without it leading to anything else.

Another reason was because Jessica didn’t know anything about what happened between me, Carson and Jolene, so them having a one night stand meant nothing to me. Isabella also told me that Jolene’s design firm had settled into Richard’s firm with a lot of fanfare, which probably meant that Jolene was going to make a lot of money from now on.

I inquired about raw materials and stock prices at Carson’s company, to which Isabella informed me that not only had prices not gone down, they had gone up. The situation left me confused as I wondered if I had misinterpreted Eric’s intent. I wondered if Eric was planning to deal with Carson, or if everything that happened was just a coincidence.

However, I decided I was overthinking things, as I only mentioned to Eric once about my plans to move back to Carson, but Eric turned me down without hesitation. Although he agreed to help me after that, I never actually asked for his help, so it didn’t make sense for him to take it upon himself to deal with Carson. If that was the case, his ambiguous response didn’t make any sense, so I wondered if I might have misinterpreted what he said to me after all.
