Sir, Let’s Divorce Chapter 5
Chapter 5
Inside the car.
Chapter 5
The black luxury car raced down Fifth Avenue, its speed so swift that it made people’s hair stand on end.
The handsome man’s face was shrouded in dark clouds, so gloomy that it seemed to be dripping water. He coldly urged the driver to go faster, even though he was already driving at a breakneck speed.
In his arms was a trembling woman, shaking so much that he could barely hold her. Her breathing was rapid and she was mumbling something.
Matthew leaned over to listen and heard Victoria calling her mother softly. Her voice was tearful, as if her voice was stained with tears.
“Don’t cry…”
The ice in the man’s eyes melted a little. He wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes and hugged her tightly. “We will be at the hospital
soon.”
Victoria was awoken by Matthew’s low, magnetic voice, and the cold temperature that surrounded her was replaced by the warmth of his chest.
No longer in front of her was a cramped and dark storage room, but rather a lavish backseat in a luxurious car, illuminated and cozy.
The sharp senses were covered with a layer of warmth, quickly eclipsing those illusory scenes. The fear that Victoria had felt due to the seclusion faded away like a tide-
“… Where am I?” She took a deep breath, tears still hanging from the corners of her eyes, and asked in a trembling voice.
This scene was so pitiful.
However, Matthew realized something. He lifted her chin and looked straight into her tearful eyes. He narrowed his eyes slightly. “Don’t tell me that you were pretending just now.”
The rare gentleness was instantly frozen and released a terrifying chill.
Victoria was stared at by his cold eyes and gritted her teeth. “Let go of me!”
Thump!
The man directly released his hand.
Victoria fell down without warning. Fortunately, the lower seat of the car was covered with an expensive carpet so that she would not be hurt, but she
still felt obvious pain.
She snorted, but did not cry out in pain.
“Victoria, are you addicted to acting in front of me?” Matthew asked as he lowered his eyes to look at her.
She had been shivering earlier, but now she was awake.
If he had known that she was a liar earlier, he would not have been soft–hearted towards her.
“I did not…” Victoria shook her head and explained.
“You don’t want to see me celebrate Anya’s birthday with her, so you came up with this idea? Pretend to be sick and let me send you to the hospital,
huh?”
Victoria felt sad.
“Am I such a woman in your heart?” She had been with him for five years, but he didn’t know that she had Claustrophobia.
She suddenly smiled and reached out to touch his cheek. “Anyway, aren’t you accompanying me now? Her birthday is over, but you are still by my side.. That’s enough.”
He did not seem to remember that today was also her birthday.
“Victoria Nelson!”
Matthew’s face was so ugly that he spoke her name in a low, almost crushing tone.
Looking at his angry appearance, a layer of red gradually appeared in Victoria’s eyes.
Since when did they become like this?
The night was covered in dew, and the black warehouses stopped in front of a villa.
The car door was slammed shut, and Victoria was mercilessly driven out of the car.
She staggered a few steps and almost fell to the ground.
Looking at the car that was leaving, she smiled bitterly.
Should she rejoice that at least Matthew would send her to the door instead of leaving her to fend for herself in the wilderness?
Victoria, ah, Victoria…
“Since when did you become so cheap?
“You are already like this, yet you still have fantasies about this man.
No matter how badly he had treated her, she could glean from the details that he might love her a little, attempting to reassure herself and dull the pain.
She knew better than anyone else that he didn’t love her.
