Singularity

Chapter 52

Kira stumbled and fell to her knees. There was so much blood. It poured over her hands as she held her abdomen. She thought it odd that she felt no pain. She hardly felt Michalei as he put his arm around her.

“I’ve got you,” He said gently. “Drink this.”

He shoved the vial into her hands. “Everything is ready, just heal. I’m here to help you.”

Kira could feel Michalei’s energy pour over her. She drank up the vial he had given her and closed her eyes. The torches flared and the ground beneath her began to tremble. Then quite suddenly it all became still. She fell into his arms as the silence swept over the city. He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that the wound had closed over. She wasn’t completely healed but it would do for now.

Michalei lifted Kira into his arms and swept her away to the bedroom. He laid her on the bed and stripped away her blood soaked clothes before covering her with the blanket. He then sat down on the edge of the bed to wait. He couldn’t bring himself to leave her. Thankfully he didn’t have to wait long before she opened her eyes.

“Michalei,” She hissed as the pain seared through her body.

“Easy now Kira. You have to be still. You didn’t heal completely.” He said as he took her hand.

“Wow, it really hurts.” She winced as she pushed herself up in the bed.

“I’m so sorry.” He said as he helped her sit up.

“For what?” She scoffed and then wished that she hadn’t.

“This is all my fault. I drove you right into his arms.” He sighed.

“This was not your doing. It was mine. I was a fool to ever believe someone so evil was capable of changing. But it’s over now. I have bound Domascus to Earth. He can’t return.” She spoke softly.

“Is it really over?” He replied. “I can hardly believe it.”

“It is,” She smiled. “Now help me out of this bed. The faster I get outside the quicker I’ll heal.”

“Of course.” He smiled and held out his hand.

Michalei practically had to support all of Kira’s weight as she climbed out of the bed. She stumbled and as he caught her, her naked form pressed solidly to him. His body reacted before his mind had a chance to process the thought causing him to blush profusely. He pushed her away gently and helped her to get her balance before heading to the closet.

Kira took her time stepping into the first gown she pulled off the hanger. The pain was intense but she managed to get into the dress without Michalei’s help. He wrapped his arms around her allowing the light to envelop them taking them to the coast. She heard the waves before she saw them and was pleased by his choice of places to take her. She breathed it in and let the land restore her strength.

“It’s good to be home.” She smiled as the pain faded away.

“Kira,” He said seriously. “I need you to do something for me.”

“What is it?” She asked as she took his hand.

“I want you to bind my powers.” He replied.

“Michalei,” She sighed.

“I’ve seen how dark this road can become. Please, I don’t want to turn out like Domascus.” He begged.

“Give me your dagger,” She stated.

As Michalei took it from his belt and handed it to Kira she took his left hand. She ran the blade across his palm. He let out a hiss as the blood flowed. She turned the blade on her own palm. Before he had a chance to respond she grasped his bleeding hand with hers.

“Blood of my blood return to me. Together forever so mote it be.” She stated.

His eyes went wide, “Kira.”

“I have restored our bond Michalei. I swear to you I will never let the darkness consume your heart or your soul.” She held his hand tightly.

“Stand with me again. We have forever to make things right.” She smiled.

“I will,” He replied as he began to smile.

“Take me home my king,” She said as she put her arms around him.

“Anything for you my queen.” He took her in his arms and swore to himself that he would never let her go again.
