While lost in her thoughts, Raymond’s phone rang. It was John calling.

Raymond had originally left to attend the urgent overseas meeting, but now he was trapped in an elevator, and it was useless to say anything. He only asked John to prepare and take his place at the meeting.

Selena, standing beside him froze thinking that she must have misheard him. Through the reflective elevator mirror, she saw Raymond’s distinct disgust in his eyes and his lips tightly pursed.

It wasn’t until they heard voices from outside that they realized rescue personnel had arrived, including Alex’s voice. The elevator doors opened slightly, allowing the outside light to filter in.

For some reason, the rescue personnel felt a chill as soon as the elevator doors opened, almost causing their hands and feet to go numb. It was still summer, so why did it feel so cold inside?

They didn’t dare ask and quickly instructed the other rescue team members.
