Shouldn’t Mess Up with My Hidden Heiress Ex-wife

Chapter 25 by HusnaS

25. Ten Years Ago

No one knew what happened next. The water splashed and Tracy screamed. ” Ah! Help, Lucas.”

Even Heidi was dumbfounded, until she felt a shove. At that moment, another splash echoed. Literally, Lucas almost stopped breathing when Heidi pushed Tracy inside the swimming pool.

While diving in to save her, he’d pushed Heidi out of the way, not noticing that she had also fallen inside.

“Damnit!” Zach’s pupils popped out. He also dived in to retrieve Heidi, tearing off his jacket. In no time, Lucas emerged from the pool, holding the fragile Tracy in his arms.

“Tracy!” He patted her cheeks, his heart thumping with fear.

Tracy kept her eyes shut tightly, not responding to his calls.

Her unconscious state heightened his fears and he darted for his car, fiddling with his phone to make a phone call.

“Heidi, stop playing pranks on me. Wake up!”

When Zach pulled Heidi out, she wasn’t only unresponsive to his calls, her skin was deadly pale.

“Damn that scumbag! Lucas Harrison, you monster!”

Lucas towered in front of the bed, anxiously waiting as the Doctor checked on Tracy.

“Will she be alright?”

The doctor looked up and shook his head. “Considering her old illness, I can’t make any conclusions. Mr. Harrison, you must be careful in the future.”

Lucas sat on the bedside, pulling Tracy’s hair aside, his eyes tense with emotions. “When will she wake up?”

“I have administered an emergency injection to address shock and stabilize her condition. The Young Miss should be awake in a few minutes.”

After the doctor left, Lucas took Tracy’s palm, rubbing it gently.

Her eyelids flickered, and his heart pounded with hope.

Tracy opened her eyes and acted confused for a few seconds. Then she gasped and sat up, throwing her arms around the man.

“Oh, Lucas… I was so scared!” She sobbed, her shoulders trembling. “I thought I was going to die, I thought I wouldn’t be able to see you again.”

“Shhh! It’s alright.” Lucas patted her back, sighing in relief. “It was my fault, I should have acted quickly.”

Greatly touched by his words, Tracy sobbed louder. “I never expected Heidi to be so despicable. Lucas, will she not leave me alone and keep endangering my life?”

Tracy’s mention of Heidi made him remember her words. Luca’s mood plummeted, and his eyes flashed with a murderous instinct.

“I have asked the servants to prepare hot ginger soup, if you need anything, call them.” He tucked her in and pulled the blanket over her, standing up.

Seeing that, Tracy panicked. “No, don’t go.” She grabbed his arm, her eyes watering. “Please stay with me, Lucas. Mum and Dad are not home, and I might have nightmares.”

“You’ll be alright,” Lucas said softly, battling to keep in his emotions.

Heidi’s provocation had ticked him off, and he needed somewhere to cool off.

“Since I returned, you’ve always been busy. Won’t you stay with me tonight?” She sniffled, not willing to let go. ”

Come on, Lucas… you know my condition. Are you going to leave me alone?”

Lucas had on a conflicted look. In that moment of distraction, Tracy pulled him down with her.

“Lucas…” she slowly wrapped her arms around him. “Please don’t go. I’m so scared.”

Tracy’s intention was clear, however, whether it was because of his anger or something else, Lucas wasn’t in the mood.

In fact, he felt repulsed. “Be good, Tracy. I’ll see you in the morning.” He pulled her hands away.

Tracy bit her lips, gloom washing over her face. As Lucas pulled away, she hurried up and hugged him from behind. “Lucas, aren’t I attractive enough? For three years, you’ve been longing for us to reunite. Why should there be any formalities between us?”

“I love you from the bottom of my heart, Lucas. If you also love me, won’t you prove it?”

Seriously, Lucas wasn’t in the mood. The more she clung to him, the more his irritation grew.

Tracy landed back on the bed as the man sprang to his feet. “You’re sick. Just go to sleep.”

Hot tears trickled down her cheeks as she watched his departing figure. “Do you only feel entitled to me because of what happened ten years ago? Don’t you love me the way I do, Lucas?”

“I vowed to protect you forever. Since that day, I reserved a spot for you beside me as the future Mrs. Harrison. Stop having silly thoughts, Tracy.”

The man left without glancing back, and Tracy swallowed, her expression turning bitter.

Ten years ago, a girl dived into the sea, saving him from drowning.

Since then, that girl developed a phobia of swimming.

Any contact with a similar incident would awaken her trauma, pushing her to the brink of almost losing her life.

Tracy laughed, her tears flushing rapidly. “If you knew that it was Heidi who saved you from drowning, Lucas, would you have rejected her so brutally?”

Tracy’s eyes didn’t miss that fleeting longing look in the man’s eyes when Heidi appeared in that red dress.

Did Lucas really hate Heidi as she thought?

Picking up her phone, she dialed the bodyguard. “Don’t stop stalking Heidi. If you don’t kill her, only I have the surveillance footage of you chasing her with a knife at NightBay Street. And no one will believe you, especially Lucas, that I was the one who sent you.”
