Shifter Mate Tri-Totem (Shifter World - Book Thirteen) (Series of 13 Short Stories)

Chapter Epilogue: Flying High

-10 Years Later-

Ruby hollered with delight as she raised her arms in the air. She never gets tired of the wind in her face as she rides her Dragon.

Keon dived towards the water. Ruby hung onto him as she shrieked.

“You’re always excited about flying,” Keon said as he skimmed the water with her claws.

“I am,” Ruby said with a chuckle.

“Ready to meet up with the others?”

“I don’t know,” Ruby said, then squealed when he shot up into the sky headfirst.

Ruby wrapped her arms around his neck as she laughed. “I love you, Keon,” she said as she rubbed her cheek against his scales.

“I love you too,” Keon said as he straightened out his body and glided through the clouds. “We should hurry to the spot before Joy sends one of my parents for us.”

Ruby sighed, “you’re right.”

She loves her cousin dearly, but the girl can be a killjoy.

They floated among the clouds until they reached the clearing in their community. They landed, and Ruby jumped off Keon’s back. She turned and watched him shift to his human form and smiled. Her mate is stacked with muscles and has wavy black hair with blue eyes. He’s a heartthrob at school, and luckily everyone knows he belongs to her.

“About time, you two got here.”

Ruby turned to Joy and smiled. “Sorry, Cousin. We were having too much fun flying.”

Joy snorted, “you’re always having too much fun flying,” she said, then turned her back on them and headed back to the group, but not before Ruby caught the smile on her cousin’s face.

Joy may be a hard ass, but it’s mostly for show. She knows what it’s like to have your mate at such a young age. She and Seth Cunningham have been caught behind the bleachers more than once.

“Okay, today we’re learning how to dodge a bullet,” Joy said as she gathered the group into a full circle.

“What’s next, learn how to dodge a grenade or a rocket?” Jackson asked as he watched his cousin.

Joy flicked his forehead, and he scrunched up his face.

“Ow,” he said, and she smirked.

“We’ll learn to catch those and throw them back at the enemy,” she told him.

Jackson grinned as he gave his twin, Joseph, a high five.

Ruby smiled as she took hold of Keon’s hand, and they joined the others. The training was getting more brutal, the older they got, and the closer it got to the wars. But they always made time for fun.

They won’t be kids forever.

This book may be over but their story is not.

THIS SERIES IS A LONG INTERTWINING STORY THAT IS OVER 250,000 WORDS. I DIVIDED IT INTO 13 BOOKS, SO THAT EACH FATED MATE COUPLE HAD THEIR OWN BOOK. SO THE BOOKS ARE SHORT (BUT SWEET). ENJOY!
