Chapter 371
“Are you shocked?” Winston wondered.
Millie tried to gather herself.
Well, Winston’s arrival wasn’t that surprising. She had always wondered if he was the guy who smoked in front of the restroom; what an unbelievable coincidence!
“Why did you agree to meet with William?” Winston glared at her in an accusatory manner.
“Don’t worry about me. Mr. Greer, please drop me off in front.” Millie pointed at the entrance of a restaurant. She needed some food after an eventful day.
Winston smiled. “But you would’ve been arrested if not for me.”
“Mr. Greer, I have help. Do not flatter yourself.” She snickered with contempt.
Even if she were arrested, she’d escape by herself. Besides, she had a plan B.
The hairpin contained poison. She wasn’t joking when she threatened to make William impotent, and she bet the effects must have kicked in by now.
If William captured her, she would withhold the antidote from him or threaten to publicize his impotence.
She smacked the car window. “Stop!”
Winston didn’t do so, much to her dismay. “I told you to stop the car. Didn’t you hear me?”
“I’ll bring you to this place if you want some food. Their dishes are pretty good,” he said calmly, starkly contrasting her emotional state.
She found him weird. She snapped, “Winston Greer, why don’t we just stay in our own lanes? What are you doing now?”
She wanted to get his brain scanned. Had it occurred to him that he had been overly friendly lately?
“It’s just a meal with my ex–wife.” He glanced at Millie. Then, he added coolly, “After all, my ex–wife is now a woman of the hour in Musbane.”
She frowned. What was that? For some reason, she sensed an undertone behind his words.
Chuckling, he passed her the phone. “Take a look for yourself.”
Millie finally realized that she had made headlines in Musbane’s entertainment news. Also, she found out the reason her identity was exposed. It was the fucking tattoo!
She secretly chided herself for the slip–up. She should have worn a dress that covered up her tattoo.
“So…” A thought suddenly struck her. “Did you get the waiter to lend me a hand at the restroom entrance?”
She took his silence as an agreement. Eyes narrowed, she smiled. “But Mr. Greer, we’re talking about William Pearson here.”
Winston appeared unbothered.
She reminded him, “By the way, I injured him.”

He shrugged. So?
“I thought you wanted a business partnership with him. She went straight to the point.
Would William still want to work with Winston when he figured out that it was Winston who rescued Millie, the culprit who stabbed him?
Little did Millie know that the Greer Group observed a principle of only working with morally upright partners. A guy like William wasn’t worthy of a partnership.
The Greer Group had better potential partners than him. There were plenty of fish in the sea.
He brushed it off nonchalantly. “Doesn’t matter.”
She scrutinized him before suddenly leaning forward. “Mr. Greer.”
He parked the car at the entrance to a restaurant. Then, he turned to look at her. “Yeah?”
“Did you win the bid for the butterfly necklace?”
He arched an eyebrow. “So what?”
“Please sell it to me,” she pleaded seriously, as she was obsessed with the necklace. “Ms. Caldwell, what is your offer?” he asked, suddenly perking up in great interest. “You may set the price, Mr. Greer.” She smiled and let him decide.
