Chapter 460
He grabbed her hand, forcing her fingertips to brush against his lips. His lips were stained with a crimson hue, marking her fingertips and the back of her hand. The hospital's lobby was deserted at night.
But there were still staff members on duty in the corners. Lizetta leaned against the man, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment and anger, her almond eyes veiled with a thin mist of shame. "Psycho!"
She pushed against him, her eyes clear of any emotions.
Remington stared into her eyes, feeling a tightness in his chest as he smirked coldly.
"My love is cheap, but how much better is your love that you can turn on and off at will?"
Lizetta pushed him away again.
"Yes, my love is easy to turn on and off, and it is cheap! Mr. Dashiell, go find Stella. She's perfect for you! You two have been through so much together, she's faced trials and tribulations for you!
You've been searching for her for years, risking life and limb, your love for each other is more profound than mountains, deeper than the seas, more genuine than diamonds. I'm truly touched! I sincerely wish you both stick together, till death do you part, inseparable as ever!"
She said too much in one breath, struggling to catch her breath in the echoing hall.
Remington's handsome face turned gloomy, his jaw clenched.
Lizetta turned to leave, but the man stepped in front of her suddenly.
She bumped into his chest, looking up at him through gritted teeth.
"Go see a psychiatrist if you're sick!"
In the next second, Remington scooped her up in his arms and strode outside, saying,
"I've made it clear about Stella. I feel guilty towards her but there's no romantic feeling involved! Stop causing trouble and misunderstanding on purpose!"
Listening to his resolute words, Lizetta found it absurd.
She wondered, did he really know who he loved in his heart?
She was tired, no longer interested in arguing with him.
Let him think whatever he wants. Since he wouldn't let go easily, she could only plan another escape.
But this time, she had to come up with a plan that wouldn't easily arouse Remington's suspicion, so she wouldn't end up like last time when she couldn't even make it out of the airport before being dragged back.
Seeing her silent, Remington thought she was calmly considering, so he didn't say more.
He put her in the car but didn't get in himself. Instead, he stood by the door, advising,
"The matters at the hospital haven't been settled yet, you go back first. Get some sleep, don't wait up for me."
He reached out to touch Lizetta's head, and she stiffly let him ruffle her hair.
As the car drove away, she looked back at his tall figure returning to the hospital, her eyes filled with silent mockery.
The matters at the hospital that haven't been settled yet likely referred to Barbara still receiving treatment.
Moreover, today is Stella's first day back.
Seeing Stella in a hospital gown earlier, Remington would undoubtedly stay to care for her all night.
How did she not notice before the breadth and depth of this man's love?
Remington entered the hospital, but he headed straight for a room.
Evelina, guarded by Ray and two men in black, was sitting on the bed writing something.
When Remington entered, Evelina looked up.
"Mr. Dashiell, I've completed the diary. That's all I remember. I know I was wrong, please, give me a chance. Send me abroad, and I promise never to return to Zion City."
Ray handed Remington what Evelina had written. After flipping through it, Remington seemed satisfied. The tampered and torn parts of the diary were all accounted for by Evelina.
Remington was satisfied with this, so he put away the papers and instructed.
"Take her for an abortion, then hand her over to the police tomorrow."
Fear flashed in Evelina's eyes. How could she agree to an abortion?
If handed over to the police while pregnant, she could get a lighter sentence, possibly even house arrest.
No wonder Remington hadn't immediately had her taken away by the police; she had harbored a sliver of hope, but she didn't expect him to want to abort her child and then throw her into prison! That was too cruel.
Evelina immediately got off the bed and knelt on the floor, begging. But Remington didn't look back, he just opened the door of the hospital room.
However, the next second, his brow furrowed slightly.
