Chapter • Hanson •

“Got anything for us?” Anastasia spoke up after they all entered the chilly room.

After the whole night of thinking, I couldn’t scavenge exactly what information they needed. Which left me restless and unable to sleep. My life seemed incredibly normal considering all the bad things that had happened. There’s a few things that I found odd but not enough to be considered incredibly important. Let alone a reason for Tony to abandon the sisters. Even the fact that Anxillion chose to keep him mouth shut. Nothing seemed to be that important.

“We’re waiting.” Amelia grew impatient.

“Hanson is my last name.” I blurted out.

The sisters just laughed at my answer.

“Duh, we’re aware.” A stick slapped onto my stomach, enough forced to create a dramatic bruise or broken rib. Even though I understand that pain from when Misty kicked me, it didn’t hurt any less. Still making me yell out in pain.

“Every time you show to be unhelpful, we will punish you. Okay?” Amelia whispered in my left ear.

“My dad died when I was 13.” I blurted again. Feeling myself start to sweat from the anxiety of getting beatened.

“How’d he die?” There was no slap that time.

“A terrible car crash, his body was dismantled by the car and unsalvageable. Blood everywhere.”

The stick slapped my left leg even harder than what my stomach endured. Almost enough to break my femur bone. That slap specifically made me scream the loudest and jerk my whole body.

“What was your father’s name?” Amelia was the only one speaking to me.

“Richard. Richard Hanson.”

“What’s all of your family member’s names?” She asked another question. Since the book had my last name, it had to be someone else then.

“My mom is Gretchen Thompson. My sister is Miranda. Brothers are Andrew and Kevin. My grandfather is...”

“Your brother is named Andrew? What a coincidence. Go on.” She had still withheld from hitting me with the stick.

“My grandfather’s name was Franklin Hanson, married to Eunice Harrington.”

“Eunice, was your grandmother?” Tiffany asked in a tone that held importance. The room fell silent. As if that name meant a great deal of something. None of the sister had anything to say. They were waiting for my response.

“Yes. Why?” Tiffany came over to me and took of the blindfold off of my eyes. The bright light above me was much brighter than I anticipated it to be. Making me blink repetitively until my eyes adjusted. The room looked like the inside of a medical examination space. One used for dead bodies and identifying their death. Which explains the refrigerated air.

She began to unshackle the metal cuffs around my wrist. The Huntington sisters looked confused from what Tiffany was doing.

“What the hell are you doing, Tiffany?” Anastasia yelled at Tiffany. Pushing her aside in a forceful shove, sending her to crash into the large metal cabinet in the corner. Anastasia clamped the cuff back shut.

“Let her go! She is no prisoner to be had!” Tiffany tried to defend me.

“What the hell do you know? Who is Eunice?” Amelia yelled at Tiffany from across the table.

I turned my head and Tiffany seemed entirely speechless. As if she couldn’t talk about it either. I could almost sense her need to protect me. My little life all of a sudden became more valuable. Unsure how my grandmother would have changed that. I barely even knew her. Eunice was always traveling with my grandfather. In fact, they didn’t even own a house.

When they were in town to visit, they always had somewhere to stay. I assumed a hotel but they said they stayed at a friend’s house. Was it possible that it could have been the Saltzman mansion?

“A family friend.” Her helpless face glanced to me, forcing a minimal grin.

“What the fuck is going on?” Alexis grabbed Tiffany and pulled her to her feet, “What do you mean, family friend?”

“You must not hurt her, love.” Tiffany begged.

Alexis smashed her head into the gray brick wall, sending blood to splatter everywhere. The blood went as far as to my face which was a good 8 feet away.

“Take her into the chamber.” Anastasia demanded Alexis. She cooperated and proceeded to drag her body out of the room. From the sounds of it, into a different room near by that was enclosed by a metal door.

“Now that we don’t have her as a distraction. I need more about this woman, Eunice.” Anastasia stood to the right of me while Amelia was on the other side. Both ready with a thin metal rod on both hands. Being blinded made me think it was a mere stick. No wonder why it felt incredibly painful.

“My grandmother was always traveling. I didn’t really know her all that well. All I know is she was a gracious woman and loved us so much. I remember her coming home a few times a year and her cooking was phenomenal. My mom grew extremely jealous and always tried to become better than her at cooking. Other than that. I don’t know much else. They never owned a house. They would tell us that life was too short and adventurous to stay in one place.”

“Make sense. Yet, I don’t know how any of this would make Tony run away all of us?” The thin metal rod was smack on my head. I screamed in pain as they just watched me.

There was no blood that came down my face but the pain started creating an intense headache, which only increased and increased every minute.

“When was the last time you saw her?” Alexis asked.

“Right after my dad died, she went to the funeral. After that we haven’t heard a word from her and my grandpa.”

“When was the last time you saw Tony?” Anastasia asked me.

“I saw him right before you guys left to go get me.”

“So you’ve been lying this whole time! Where is he now?” Amelia was pissed. The rod was ready in her hand. Ready to beat me.

“He told me to tell you all that he was waiting at the school. I wanted to protect him so I offered myself up instead.”

“You’re so stupid.” Anastasia laughed in my face.

“At least he didn’t ignore me. He wanted to save me. Since he actually cares for me.”

Should have kept my mouth shut but it was too late.

The rage in their faces exploded and the both of them started taking their anger out on me. The metal rods were bashed and slapped on several parts of my body. Making me scream in excruciating pain. What Misty did that one day in the locker room doesn’t compare to the pain that they bestowed onto me. The pain was getting too much for me and I couldn’t keep my eyes open.

The pain was starting to make me faint and I could feel myself to drift off into a coma.
