Chapter 69
"I'm not escaping." An awkward smile appeared on her face as she stopped in her tracks. Then, she turned around to face Trevor. "I was just afraid I would disturb you and Ms. Black." "Sit down," he whispered, proceeding to sit down himself.
Meanwhile, Leah was looking at Jessica in disgust. "Where the heck did she come from? How dare she ruin my plan," she thought. After all, she wanted to take the opportunity to talk with Trevor.
Unfortunately for her, she did not get the chance to do so.
The three of them got seated, engrossed in their thoughts.
Jessica was seated near the aisle and stayed silent, taking a sip of her whiskey from time to time.
"Trevor, I have lived overseas since I was young. When I came back, I heard my parents praising how wonderful you are. How did you manage your company so well? Can you teach me?" Leah inched closer to Trevor while puckering her sexy lips, her gaze filled with anticipation.
"Study more and read more news," Trevor answered indifferently.
Meanwhile, Jessica almost rolled her eyes at such a vague answer. "Are you sure studying and reading news is all it takes?" she mused to herself.
"But I always get bored whenever I start reading. What should I do?" Leah asked coquettishly while caressing Trevor's wine glass with her slender fingers, wanting to reach out to touch his hand.
When Jessica saw such an inappropriate scene unfolding in front of her, she quickly turned away and pretended to see nothing.
Anger flashed across Trevor's face as he thought, "I have mysophobia. Doesn't she know about this?"
Therefore, he pulled his hand away and massaged his temples.
He was at the tipping point of anger.
Jessica understood Trevor too well. He was currently like a balloon filled with anger and would soon explode once he found a way to vent it.
Not wanting to become the target of his anger, she wished to leave the place so badly.
The atmosphere on the island was getting livelier and livelier, and all the employees were excited. After all,
their boss had spent a lot on expensive wine, cigarettes, and delicious food. There were even many celebrities singing and giving out autographs, which was a plus.
Meanwhile, Jessica felt a mixture of emotions while sitting beside her boss. "I want to go and have fun too! Pamela invited me to watch the celebrities' concert and even play volleyball on the beach with my other colleagues. They must already be playing right now," she thought.
As she got more anxious, she unconsciously got a little impatient. Thus, she could not help but tap on the wine glass with her finger repeatedly while staring in the direction of the beach.
Her actions did not go unnoticed by her boss. Furrowing his eyebrows, Trevor asked in a low voice, "Do you have something to do?"
"Yes. I was invited to play beach volleyball with my other colleagues," Jessica did not hide and answered straightforwardly.
"Ahem..." Reflexively, Trevor cleared his throat while helplessness flashed across his eyes. "I can't believe volleyball is more attractive than me. What the heck..." he thought.
"You should go ahead, then. The
match is going to end soon if you go
any later," Leah pretended to remind
her in a gentle voice when in fact,
she could not wait for the third wheeler to leave.
"All right. Thank you, Ms. Black," Jessica quickly placed the wine glass down and stood up, nodding at them with a smile.
When she wanted to turn around and leave, however, an angry voice rang out. "You can try!"
