Sextuplets From Ruthless Love

Chapter 61

Jessica tensed up and began explaining. However, she had only gotten one word out before she realized that Trevor was not actually asking her a question. "Sorry, Mr. Gulliford. I'll make another cup for you right away."

"Okay," he said to her before lowering his head. Even though he was staring at the document, none of the words printed on the paper was registered in his head.

Jessica then turned to leave the room. She headed straight for the pantry to make another cup of coffee before bringing it to him.

Just as she was about to knock on the door to the chairman's office, a hand from behind her grabbed her arm. Before Jessica could come to her senses, someone shoved her to the ground.

"Didn't I tell you that this isn't a place for you to come? You're just a receptionist, so what right do you have to come to the floor where the executive members of the company work? Why don't you give yourself a good look in the mirror? Does it look like you have the right to knock on the chairman's office's

door?" Janice questioned as fury burned bright in her eyes.

She was deliberately showing off and bullying a new recruit.

One of the employees who walked by them wanted to help Jessica up to her feet, but Janice's vicious glare made her dismiss that thought immediately.

Janice's pride grew exponentially when she realized that no one dared to go against her.

"That's right. All of you should know my relationship with the general manager. If you want to stay in this company, stop trying to dance with the devil in front of me. Keep to your own business. If you're thinking of doing anything else, take a good look at her. She's what you'll become."

Janice then pointed at Jessica before lightly tapping her stilettos against the floor.

She was drunk on power.

"Who is she? How can she treat a new recruit like this? Isn't she new too?" "That's right. Isn't she just a mistress? Why is she being so arrogant?" "That's how society is nowadays. Stop talking! She might hearyou!"

The employees were cautiously discussing the scene by the side.

Jessica then rose to her feet and massaged her previously-lame leg.

Although it had recovered, she still could not put weight on it.

"You'd better remember this and behave yourself next time. Otherwise, I might fire you."

As Janice spoke, she stared at Jessica in contempt.

The mocking tone in her words was audible to everyone who heard her.

"I didn't know you were the head of Candor Union Company."

Someone swiftly opened the door to the chairman's office. In the next second, a tall figure stepped out of the room and stood in front of Jessica. The figure then looked at Janice with eyes filled with disgust.

"Mr. Gulliford, that isn't what I mean. It's just that she's been trying to show off all the time. Instead of doing her job as a receptionist, ske has been constantly coming toz disturb you," Janice quickly

explained as she lowered her head

politely.

"I've asked her to brew me coffee twice, and you've stopped her twice."

After rolling up his sleeves, Trevor pulled on his tie frustrated ly.

The only thing he needed to say was the truth and nothing else. After all, there was no need for him to waste his breath on someone like Janice.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Gulliford. I really didn't know that you were the one who asked her to make coffee for you."

Janice quickly bowed and apologized. As Trevor narrowed his eyes and looked at her, he abruptly realized something.

"Janice Holsey. The server who worked at Cerulean. You're not dead yet?"

Anger laced his words.

He then turned around to bellow for Martin.

Martin sped over and asked, "Mr. Gulliford, what can I help you with?"

Meanwhile, Janice was starting to shake like a leaf.

It was all too clear what Trevor meant. Janice was supposed to be a dead woman.

Upon hearing the chairman's words, the other employees around them began discussing, "So she worked at Cerulean in the past? I can't believe it." "How can you not? She's a mistress."

"True. It must be her trauma from working at Cerulean that's making her bully the new recruits like this."

This time, none of them bothered lowering their voices. In fact, they spoke in a louder voice so that Janice could hearthem. At the end of the day, they all knew that Janice was doomed after hearing the chairman's words.
