Chapter 56
Jessica put down the cup in her hand and stepped aside without saying a word.
She had studied broadcasting for a few days and was able to change her pitch of voice, but even so, she was afraid of being recognized by Bennett. Trevor couldn't recognize her because of her face and her legs.
Meanwhile, Bennett is of her flesh and blood. She was terrified of being recognized by the child.
After all, it was not the right time yet.
Bennett put down the medical book in his hand, took a sip of the drink, and didn't look up at everyone.
He hated this place in his heart, hated his father's company, and even hated his father.
Jessica hid in the crowd, secretly looking at Bennett intently.
Her child, her son. It has been three years. Mom missed you.
After a few seconds, she disappeared into the crowd and came to the stairwell of the company alone.
After a certain period, the feeling of looking at a child that couldn't be recognized yet was too hard for her. She couldn't take it anymore.
She covered her red-rimmed eyes and leaned against the wall. As if she had a massive weight pressing down on her chest and couldn't breathe. The next moment, the door of the stairwell was pushed open.
Jessica quickly turned around, looked at the stern and handsome man in front of her, and held her breath.
"Do you know my wife?"
Trevor furrowed his brow slightly, and his tone was very light.
"I do not know."
Jessica sorted out her feelings and shook her head.
"Lies! The level of sweetness in your coffee is the same as my wife's taste. After looking at Bennett, you
came here alone feeling sad. Who are you?!"
A few traces of anger appeared in Trevor's eyes, he hated those that lied to him.
"I'm her classmate, that's all."
Jessica answered with a serious look, but she was feeling helpless in her heart.
His wife?
Jessica really couldn't bear this title.
"I see."
Trevor nodded, turned around and left.
Since they were classmates, it was reasonable.
Jessica looked at his retreating figure. She slowly squatted down against the wall, breathing heavily.
Trevor was too powerful. She should start by aiming at the Jackson family first.
When she returned to the front desk, he had already left with Bennett, and everyone had dispersed.
"Jessica, where did you go just now?" Pamela asked.
Pamela was very friendly, she brought her a lunch box from the company's cafeteria, and the two chatted while eating.
"I'm not feeling well, I will take my leave first."
"You missed such a good opportunity to get close to Mr. Gulliford? You let go of such a perfect man. Oh my god, Jessica, you are too cruel."
Pamela found it hard to believe that there were women in this world who were not interested in Mr. Gulliford.
"He may be perfect. Once you become his wife, it will be a very sad story."
Jessica said in a low voice. She recalled what happened a few years ago. Somehow, even the egg that she ate became bitter.
Pamela curled her lips. "How is that possible? Jessica, you are such a sour grape."
Jessica smiled helplessly and didn't say a word. She accepted what Pamela said.
"By the way, starting from tomorrow night, for three consecutive nights, there will be a team building organized by the head office. Mr. Gulliford will hold a grand feast on his private island. On the first day, it was held for our company. You have to dress up well. Maybe you will meet a handsome soulmate," Pamela said. She suddenly recalled something and hurriedly asked,
"Jessica, you are single right?"
"Yes, I'm single."
Jessica nodded.
She knew about the team building organized by Trevor's company.
The team building was held once a year. When Trevor first pursued Jessica, he purposely invited herover and left a room with the best viewing location on the island just for her.
However, at that time, she just smiled lightly as she was not interested. In the end, she didn't go.
"Be sure to seize this opportunity."
Pamela vowed.
"Sure."
