Chapter 133
"Trevor, you'd better not go overboard!"
Suddenly, Alfred slammed his fork hard on the table.
"What does he mean by the food isn't good?" he thought angrily since he was the one who did the cooking.
"I can get someone to send some food over if you'd like."
Trevor completely ignored Alfred as the former's eyes locked on Jessica.
Jessica lifted her head to look at him and asked in a slightly cold tone, "There's no need for that, Mr. Gulliford. Are you here because you want to know when I can go back to work?" She didn't want him to stay any longer. The little ones are still waiting to eat! she thought.
Trevor's existence only made her feel troubled and insecure.
"You can say that, but it seems that your wounds haven't fully recovered yet. It's okay. I'm willing to
wait," he said softly while looking at her dotingly.
After that, he continued, "I'll get going now. Call me if you need anything."
With that, he turned to leave.
He could tell that Jessica wanted him to leave, so he didn't want to make her feel burdened.
He would give her time and wait for her.
Jessica watched him leave silently as she fell into deep thought. "Does Old Mr. Gulliford's words still count? Is it true that he'll help me leave Trevor's side?"
After ten days, Jessica's wounds had fully recovered. Therefore, she went to the office early in the morning.
When she realized that Trevor wasn't at Candor Union Company anymore, she was happy.
However, Martin stopped her when she got back to the reception.
"You're here, Ms. Lockett. Mr. Gulliford asked me to pick you up."
Jessica was confused. "Pick me up?"
"Yes. Mr. Gulliford said that you're his secretary, so you should follow him to the headquarters. You don't have to stay here anymore." "Oh."
Jessica frowned slightly. Although she wasn't happy about it, she stayed silent. With that, she turned and followed Martin into the car. Soon, they arrived at the headquarters of Gulliford Group.
It was huge. Three office buildings were attached to make a triangle. It was as expected of the industry that paid the highest tax every year. Martin gestured politely in front of her. "This way, please."
Jessica nodded courteously and walked inside.
Meanwhile, Trevor, who was having a meeting in the conference room, paused the meeting immediately when he heard about her arrival. After that, he went downstairs in person. It wasn't because he was panicked, but it was because he couldn't take it anymore.
It had been over ten days, so he really wanted to see and hug her.
"You're here."
When everyone saw how anxious he looked in front of the entrance of the headquarters, they started whispering among themselves. "Mr. Gulliford peeled the pistachios for her last time.
I'm sure of it."
"Oh my God! I can't believe it's her!"
"I don't get it. What's so good about her that made
Mr. Gulliford like her?"
"Maybe she has a good life."
They laughed. Naturally, they were only gossiping from a distance since they were afraid Trevor would hear what they were saying. "What can I do for you, Mr. Gulliford? Where should I work?" Jessica asked softly.
She knew that many didn't welcome her at the headquarters.
"Follow me."
He brought her to the Chairman's office.
In the office, there was an office table on the right. Judging from the appearance of the table and the comfort level of the chair, it looked more comfortable than Trevor's.
"Just sit here, Call Martin if you need anything. You're still unwell, so you don't have to rush to do any work for now. You can call Martin whenever you want to eat or drink anything,"
he said as he pulled her chain for her.
Martin, who stood at the side,
furrowed his brows. Should I get an increment since I'm both Mr.
Gulliford and Mrs. Gulliford's secretary now? He wondered.
