Seven Days Seven Nights

Chapter 4

She awakened Nicholas. He took the phone, lifted the blanket, and walked directly to the window. They chatted briefly, but Nancy
couldn’t hear what he was saying. She only saw his eyebrows furrowed and then relaxed. After hanging up the phone, Nicholas
came to Nancy. Nancy looked at him embarrassedly and said, “I answered the wrong phone. Did Ms. Madelline misunderstand?”
“I’ve already explained.” He paused and looked at Nancy, saying, “We are husband and wife. Sleeping in the same bed and
waking up together is perfectly normal.” “Yeah.” Nancy nodded. When she wanted to get up, Nicholas suddenly approached her
face and asked, “What’s wrong with your face?” Nancy hurriedly ran to the mirror to have a look. She had a lot of red pimples on
her face, almost all over her legs, arms, and body. She knew it resulted from an allergy to the eggs she ate yesterday. “I’m a little
allergic. I have already taken the medicine, which will disappear in a few days,” Nancy answered. “Are you okay?” Nicholas
asked again. “Don’t worry, I won’t delay seeing Grandpa.” “Wait a moment. I’ll put on makeup and change clothes. Then we’ll go
to meet Grandpa and talk about our divorce.” Nancy knew that Nicholas couldn’t wait for her to file for divorce. Since this has
happened, she won’t be the poor woman who asks for his pity. She can’t do such a thing. Her self-esteem won’t allow it. “No
need to meet Grandpa. Let’s go to the hospital to check your face.” Nicholas said. Nancy was stunned and asked, “Grandpa has
agreed?” Nicholas shook his head. Then he looked at her and explained, “I was just about to tell you that Grandpa isn’t in good
health. He has moved forward his eightieth birthday and will held in a week.” “Grandpa has always loved you. If you talk about
divorce now, he will definitely not be able to celebrate this birthday happily. We’ll discuss it after Grandpa’s 80th birthday.” “Okay.”
Nancy nodded. “Grandpa is the person who loves me the most and treats me the best in the Sallows. I also hope that he will
celebrate his birthday happily.” “It sounds like you’re accusing me of mistreating you?” Nicholas teased. Nancy was speechless.
After her mother passed away, Jacob took her back to the Sallows and gave her a warm house. Jacob also took care of her and
provided for her to study. Without Jacob, she could not imagine her life these past few years. “Don’t worry, I’ll file for divorce after
Grandpa’s birthday ends. I won’t delay you.” Nancy is afraid that Nicholas thinks she will take advantage of Jacob’s birthday to
delay their divorce, so she quickly promises. “You seem to be enthusiastic about divorce more than me?” “What? Are you so
impatient to see your old lover?” Nicholas rubbed his eyebrows deeply, feeling a little upset for some reason. After breakfast,
Nancy was unable to debate over Nicholas. He took Nancy to the hospital. Doctor’s office. Nancy was sitting on the chair, and
Nicholas was standing next to her. She was a little panicked. She didn’t expect that Nicholas would accompany her here. “Do
you know what you are allergic to?” “Yes.” “You know, and still ate so much. Your allergy is so serious. Have you taken your
medicine?” Nancy shook her head and answered with a little embarrassed, “No.” “I’ll prescribe some medicine. You can take it at
home. If your condition’s not improving, go to the hospital immediately for an injection.” Nancy put her hand on her lower
abdomen. She was hesitant, worried that these oral medicines would impact her baby. But Nicholas was standing beside her, so
it was difficult for her to ask the doctor. Just when she was extremely anxious, Nicholas’ phone rang. He went out to answer the
call. Nancy immediately breathed a sigh of relief and talked to the doctor, “Doctor, I’m pregnant. Can I take these medicines?”
“Why didn’t you tell me earlier? I’ll change it to topical medicine instead of taking it orally.” “Thank you, Doctor. Sorry for bothering
you!” After leaving the doctor’s office, Nicholas’ face changed. His face no longer softened as when he first appeared and

became extremely cold. After enduring it for a while, when Nicholas went to get medicine, he finally asked Nancy, “You’ve
become more capable. You’ve learned how to lie, haven’t you?” Nancy knew he was talking about how she had tricked him into
taking medicine. Feeling embarrassed, she quickly lowered her head and said, “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it.” “That was intentional.”
Nancy was speechless. How can he know what’s in my mind? “I was thinking that we are going to get divorced soon. After that,
we’ll live our way. There is no need to trouble you anymore. I have troubled you enough in the past two years.” “You know you’re
troublesome?” Nicholas snarled. Nancy’s ears are red, and she is feeling bad. Nicholas really thought that she was a burden. But
the next moment, Nicholas spoke. “I’ve been in trouble for two years, and I don’t care if I have to deal with it just one more time.”
After getting the medicine, when Nicholas was looking at the medicine’s dosage and usage, he suddenly asked, “I remember the
doctor said to prescribe oral medicine. Why did it become a topical medicine?” Nancy was speechless. Sometimes, being too
careful and too sharp-eyed is not a good thing. “Topical medicine is also good!” Nancy said. “You have severe allergies. Topical
medicine is less effective. Oral medicine is more effective. Besides, it will be Grandpa’s eightieth birthday soon. If the red acne
on your body still doesn’t disappear by then, he may think I am abusing you.” “I’ll explain it to Grandpa. It won’t take a long time
to recover.” Nancy promised earnestly. But Nicholas persisted. “No, I’ll switch to oral medicine in case it doesn’t work, and you
come to get an injection again.” Then he walked towards the doctor’s office, ready to ask the doctor to prescribe another
medicine. Nancy panicked and shouted his name quickly, “Nicholas, wait, that ... I asked the Doctor to change it to topical
medicine. My gastrointestinal condition has not been good these days, and oral medicine is unsuitable for people with stomach
discomfort.” “It’s less effective to apply medicine externally, but it’s also safe, right?” This reason finally convinced Nicholas. He
stopped. Nancy first applied medicine to her face, legs, and arms in the car. But she couldn’t see the back of her neck. Just when
she was confused, Nicholas took the initiative and asked, “Are you sure you don’t want my help?” He is always like that, as if he
knows everything and has plans for everything. “Here you go!” Nancy put the medicine into his hand. Nicholas suddenly frowned,
“What is this attitude? You don’t want to beg me?” Nancy bit her lip and decided to keep going. She blinked her charming eyes
and softly said, “My dearest husband, I can’t apply it. Please help me!”
