Seven Days Seven Nights

Chapter 196

Chapter 196
Suddenly, seeing Nicholas faint, she couldn’t bear it anymore. She rose from her wheelchair, intending to reach his side.
However, due to her crippled legs, she fell to the ground with a thud when she had just stood up. The ground was covered in
blood, and as Madelline fell, she was splashed with more and more blood.
Her hands pressed into the blood, staining them as she crawled forward, shouting, “Nicholas, wake up! Please wake up. I beg
you, hold on! You must hold on. Nicholas!”
On the side, Perry sneered. “What a pair of devoted lovebirds, Tsk, tsk, even I’m touched!”
The night wind was bitterly cold, and Madelline shivered uncontrollably.
Yet, she continued to crawl forward with clenched teeth until she reached Nicholas.
Finally, she grasped his hand. She immediately exerted force and crawled toward him.
“Nicholas, wake up! Please wake up!” Madelline cried with tears streaming down her face.
After a while, Nicholas finally opened his eyes.
However, he was too exhausted. He had no strength left in him. Even with his eyes open, he was utterly limp.
Madelline gripped his hand, crying with deep sorrow and heartbreak. “Nicholas, hold on. We will be fine.”
“Madelline, we’ve known each other for so long, and I’ve never asked you for anything. But now, I want to ask for a favor,”
Nicholas said weakly.
“Alright, say it. Whatever you ask, I promise you, as long as you hold on.”
“I-If you survive...” Nicholas tore off the necklace from his chest that was mixed with blood and placed it solemnly in Madelline’s
hand. He said with effort, “Give this necklace to Nancy for me. Tell her that I love her, but I’m sorry I can’t grow old with her. If
there’s a next life, I promise, I will protect her well and make her happy.”
Having said this, Nicholas seemed to have no strength left. His hand drooped.

“Nicholas, Nicholas!” Madelline shouted loudly. “Is this all you want to say? Don’t you have anything to say to me? Nicholas,
wake up! Don’t ignore me.”
Perhaps these cries had an effect. Nicholas forced his eyes open again, weakly looking at Madelline. “Don’t forget, you m-must
deliver these words to her for me. I don’t want her to be sad.”
Madelline cried even more sadly, clutching Nicholas’ hand. “Don’t you have anything you want to say to me?”
She meant words that were meant for her alone.

too, were stained with blood. Where he lay had formed a large pool of blood.
Madelline clenched her fists, crying uncontrollably.

Finally, she grasped his hand. She immediately exerted force and crawled toward him.

Madelline cried even more sadly, clutching Nicholas’ hand. “Don’t you have anything you want to say to me?”
She meant words that were meant for her alone.
Why? Why are all your words meant for Nancy? At this critical moment of life and death, your heart only holds her! Nicholas, do
you know how cruel you are? How cruel you are! In this life-and-death battle, it’s clearly me who accompanies you and fights
side by side with you. Why do you only think of Nancy? Why?
At this moment, hatred had almost distorted Madelline’s heart. She clenched her fists, her entire being filled with hatred.
But Nicholas couldn’t see any of this. He closed his eyes, utterly exhausted.
He was mumbling lightly at the corner of his mouth, but it was still that familiar name. “Nancy, Nancy...”
At the sound of that name, Madelline’s heart brimmed with even more hatred.
The raging wind howled, while the entire street seemed to have returned to silence. At this moment, the night was terrifyingly
quiet.
Nancy, I once said that even in death, I won’t let you have an easy life. Even if I die, I won’t let you have Nicholas.

Madelline tightened her fists. Looking at Perry, she made a decision. For victory, she could give up everything. She could spare
no expense.
The night grew even darker. Suddenly, cries of despair pierced through the silence of the night. In the air, mixed with sinister
laughter and a heavy, degenerate scent, the sound of shattering echoed incessantly. The whole city seemed to be shrouded in
darkness, filled with sorrow.
Listening to those cries, Nicholas widened his eyes. His pupils were bloodshot and his fists were clenched. He cried out in pain,
but it was futile.
He wanted to stand up, but the situation simply wouldn’t allow it. His body could only lie defeated on the ground, devoid of any
strength.
One staff after another fell upon him as fresh blood once again sprayed into the air.
The night was long and torturous. It was especially dark and cold.
Soon, the break of daylight arrived. The sun slowly ascended from the horizon, emitting a gentle glow. In the vicinity, the sound
of police sirens drew near, prompting the group of individuals to disperse hastily. The air was filled with the strong scent of blood
and an unidentified odor.
At the sight of the police cars, Madelline’s attention was solely focused on them. She hurriedly crawled towards them, her hands
trembling. She swiftly lifted Nicholas, exclaiming, “Nicholas, help has arrived. Thank goodness, we are rescued!”
