Chapter 2 The Grim Lord

  • Oona hadn’t anticipated one moment she was the feared and dreaded Grim Lord of Fort Carnage, battling a massive shark in the depths of the sea. However, as she finally beat the shark within an inch of its life, she fell unconscious from severe blood loss.
  • Yet, when she opened her eyes again, she found herself in this strange and scary arena, inhabiting the body of another Oona Walsh. Except, this Oona was a timid retard.
  • Unsurprisingly, this retarded Oona had been duped into coming here by her cousin sister, and narrowly escaping being mauled by wild beasts.
  • Now that the Oona of the Grim Lord of Fort Carnage had inhabited the retard Oona’s body, she wouldn’t stand for anyone mistreating her.
  • Meanwhile, in the VIP box on the second floor of the arena, Tyler stared in astonishment at the girl in the cage below. His face filled with shock, he exclaimed, “Hey, look! Clay, isn’t that your wife? Damn, I thought they said that the long-lost second daughter of the Walsh family, who had just reconciled and returned to the family, was a timid and foolish retard? No way this girl is like what the rumor has said!”
  • Not just Tyler but everyone in the private room was staring at the girl below in astonishment and confusion.
  • Due to her unkempt and disheveled hair, nobody paid attention to how and what her face looked like behind the messy hair. But now, seeing her true face, they couldn’t help but be taken aback.
  • Rumors had it that the Walsh family’s newly returned second daughter was a timid and foolish retard. They struggled to reconcile the rumors to the girl who had knocked down a fierce beast with her bare hands!
  • They couldn’t help but think, ‘Even if ten strong men were here, they might not have been able to take down that beast like she did!’
  • The more they thought, the more terrified they felt about Oona. What exactly had happened? What about the supposed timid fool? How did she suddenly turn into a raging female Hulk?
  • The man lurking in the shadow lazily played with his lighter, his captivating eyes carrying a lazy indifference as he glanced at the girl below, covered in blood but still arrogantly defiant.
  • Her delicate features, hidden beneath long bangs, revealed a pair of sharp, icy, bloodthirsty eyes. Yet, her lips curved slightly, almost bearing a wicked smirk. She appeared arrogant and domineering, a far cry from the rumored timid fool.
  • “Hey, Clay, how did your wife end up in this arena?” Anson asked, his brows furrowing.
  • Although she was known as a fool before, she was still the Walsh family’s second daughter and Clayton Goetz’s wife. Now the truth is that she is not a fool but such a powerful lady, so she will get more respects.
  • In the shadow, Clayton squinted with a hint of coolness as he nonchalantly stated, “Ty, find out exactly what went down!”
  • “You got it!” Tyler flashed a toothy grin, his voice dripping with confidence.
  • With a lazy gaze, the man watched the girl emerge from the iron cage.
  • He then stood, straightening his cufflinks with a practiced flick.
  • Pale skin, a furrowed brow, and handsome features that felt cold and aloof – the man had it all going for him, except for maybe a spark of warmth.
  • Especially his eyes. They were a mesmerizing mix of charm and something unsettling. He oozed an extravagant arrogance, like a rich playboy.
  • “Shut this damn place down!” Clayton’s voice was cold and commanding. In a blink, his imposing figure had disappeared through the doorway.
  • Verona yearned to get out of there. Oona’s bloodthirsty eyes were burned into her memory, a terrifying vision she couldn’t shake. What the hell had gotten into that freak to snap like that?
  • Just then, a cold lady’s voice slithered into Verona’s ear from behind, making her jump. “Where are you going?”
