Chapter 16 Lisa
I swear I will never ever drink again. At least with the woman of this family. Clarie was useless for a week! Alex helped me with the worst part of the hangover, because he felt sorry for me. I would die otherwise. I was glad he spent some time with his family too. I occasionally cut him changing his voice with Sebastian and using some words he would never use. I found out his little brother is the best at gossiping. I decided to ask him some questions. But there is the thing about finding him, he always sleeps in unusual places. I got a tip from Angelica that he would be sleeping in the main library.
“Ehm, I feel bad, but… How was his name?” I asked ashamed. She just smiled.
“Too many names at once?” I nodded. “No worries. We have to get used to these names too, because after a very long time we had to come up with them. Michael. When you want his attention, call him TEDDY BEAR.” She winked and left.
Alex was with the older - his father, uncle, grandfather, older uncle and their women - in the office. They were debating about the next move. They decided they will bring the fight to the door of the man. I was left in the dark a little. I was grateful for that. It would cause me just another headache. I found the main library. I was speechless. I love old libraries. The decoration looked ancient. Back to the reason, you're here, Lisa! You can explore later. Hopefully I won't get lost. This place is huge! Like the Flynn Carsen Library… God! I hope it is not similar. I went a little further in. I was more and more speechless.
“Hey you!” I almost jumped out of my skin. I turned to see Ben sitting on the couch between two shelves. He giggled wickedly.
“Fuck! Hey! Don't you have something else to do than scaring the shit out of random people?”
“Actually no… I needed someplace calm to read without anybody to make fun of me.” He shrugged his shoulders.
“Oh, ok. By the way… I am looking for Michael, haven't you seen him?”
“No, but he is here. He ran around to find a place on the shelf somewhere. I don't have to see him, he makes wind, when he uses his speed. Super fast, remember?”
“Oh yeah! That's him?” Ben nodded. “Anyway, thank you! Carry on, don't let me interrupt you!” He stood up and hugged me, before he said he would rather go away. It was his time for the watch.
“Okay… Here goes nothing.” I cleared my throat. “TEDDY BEAR!” I yelled. I heard loud thud.
“Auch! Fuck! I am awake.” I turned, because he was behind me. I was not sure how he got there. He looked high, understandably. Why would a small person like me wake him up? His eyes went lower. “Lisa! Who.. Angelica! I will have to talk to her.”
“I need to know something from you!” I cut him off. He looked surprised. We sat down on the couch and talked. He was funny. Like really funny. I had to explain to him every metapher I said. It was new. He was a genius, but stupid at the same time. He was like a child. I liked him. All the men in this family looked alike. Same built, same eyes, same sexy as fuck smile. Women were stunning and had similar smiles and eyes. I felt ashamed, but they never let me feel this way. They made me feel great about myself. MIchael was no different. When I asked him about Alex, he was telling me how awful a cook he is and stories about how he saved his ass multiple times. I was laughing so hard, my stomach hurt. Finally he let me speak, I told him my story. About how I met Alex. His face changed. It was not the carefree funny guy, it was a killer. Just one look at him and you would run up the hills just to save your own life. I grabbed his hand and told him what Alex told me he had done. He smiled devilishly, but seemed satisfied. His face was back to normal. He explained to me, he is usually calm, but if someone would piss him off, he would kill him without hesitation. Pissing him off was equal to insulting someone without any reason, acting like an asshole, hurting a woman or child, hurting his family and the list goes on and on. I had to cut him off. I asked him about Alex acting differently. He paused.
“I can't tell you. He will know. He made sure nobody would tell.”
I was persistent. He gave in eventually. It took me like thirty minutes of convincing and begging. He told me about the part Alex skipped. He took Sebastian with him to the party. He was not once letting go of him. He was acting super sweet. Even his dad was surprised. His grandfather said he would do great with his own, when the time comes. He asked me about my reason to come to him.
“I've been told you're the greatest gossiper!” I laughed. He made a funny face, which made me just laugh harder.
“I guess, this was more than Angelica…” He looked like his head was working on something.
“Just please, no pranks. They love you. They just wanted me to get to know all of you separately. This was their way of pushing me.” I was breathless, because he hugged me so tight.
“She needs to breathe! She is human, remember?” Michael loosen his grip and mumbled sorry. Alex stood there smiling. Michael vanished without saying anything. “So… What did you get from him?” He sat on the spot MIchael was sitting before.
I told him a rough list of the stories I learned about. His smile was gone, hidden behind his hands. He was shaking with laughter. “That little twit!” And I got to his behavior around Sebastian. He went dead serious. “I warned everybody. Especially Michael. And yet you got him to talk! One little human has evrybody in here around her finger.”
“I would say Sebastian has the same with you.” I pinched his cheek. This got him by surprise.
“That obvious, huh?”
We spoke about the baby. We agreed we both want kids, just not yet. He has to solve this problem he got his hands on. Understandable. I saw the worries in his eyes. I saw them last time, when I was raped and beaten.
He made a tour for me though the library. I was sure as hell I can't go in here alone! They would find just my body. Or bones to be more precise. We were at the end of the library. He placed his hand on the wall and some hidden door opened. He motioned to me to go in. I could feel him behind me. There were steps up and down. He led me up. We took it left and right and left again and my head started to spin. I was lost. He stopped me by placing his hands around my waist. He made the hand thing again and the door opened. We were back in our bedroom.
Something was off. Everything was out of place. He pushed me behind him and looked around. It seemed like he tried to call a backup, but no luck. He was cursing. I saw a shadow in the corner of my eye. I yelled at Alex to look up. He turned to me, but someone tried to stab him. They missed all the important spots. Alex looked at the dagger.
“Shit! Run back! Find someone! RUN!” He made the door close to my nose. I heard someone yelling at him and cursing him. I ran back the way I thought we went before. I lost balance and almost fell. Someone catched me. I looked up to see Alex's grandfather.
“He is in our bedroom, someone stabbed him, he needs help. He couldn't get to you with his mind.” I said it ten times quicker than usual. I saw his furious eyes.
“This hallway. Run to the end, there will be the door. Open them. It is a portal. It takes you to the dragons world. Find the king. He will be with two other dragons. Black and white. The black will he hurted. When you tell the dragon king what is going on, he would be able to heal him. Go now!” I nodded and ran as fast as I could. No time for looking back.
I found the door. I opened it without thinking. My heart was rising. I was scared, confused and alone. I wandered through the landscape full of flowers. I saw mountains in the distance. Suddenly I felt nervous. I turned to see a very big white dragon. She was looking at me with a grin.
“What are you doing here, girl?” she asked.
“I am looking for a dragon king. There will be something with the black dragon.” She looked confused. “Hey, I know… It doesn't make sense. I am not good at this, it is all new to me. But my mate - Alex, I call him wolf-king, was hurted…”
“You said the King?” I nodded. She grabbed me and placed me on her back. “Hold tight, girl, we have to act quickly.” She flew up and I yelled.
Shortly after we landed in the mountains. She placed me back on the ground.
“Who is this girl?” Some deep male voice asked.
The white dragon explained everything, like she saw it. I was lost more than ever. I felt dizzy again. Before I knew it, she was holding me.
“Shh, easy, girl, let the darkness in. When you wake up, all will be better. I promise.”
