Secret Scion

Chapter 163 -

"As the matriarch of the Stewards and the chairman of Steward Corporation, instead of working hard, you're spending your time with someone unemployed like me every day. If someone from your family finds out about this, they're going to complain about you again."

Asher and Noelle had just walked out of the hotel. They were already bored with the meals served in the hotel, and so they wanted to try something different.

Noelle was wearing a cream-colored knitwear cardigan and a pair of jeans. It made her look fresh and pretty, and she was very eye-catching. With a smirk, she said, "I've only accompanied you for

a few days, and you already hate me? You men are so fickle, abandoning the old for someone new as soon as you can."

Of course, Noelle knew that Asher did not mean that, but she simply wanted Asher to say it out loud.

Asher laughed and said, "I wish that you could stay by my side forever."

Noelle's expression immediately changed after she heard those words, and she once again had a sweet smile on her face. "That sounds better. I've already told the company that I'll be going back tomorrow."

The reason that Noelle came to the capital city in a rush was because she was worried about Asher's emotional state. She was worried that Asher would crumble and waste away, never to recover.

However, she could see that Asher was not that dispirited after all. That was why Noelle was now

at ease.

When Asher heard that, he quickly took out his mobile. Noelle then asked him, confused, "What are you doing?"

"I want to check just how much money I have left. I want to see if I can afford to take you out for dinner," Asher said with a smile.

While Asher was the scion of the Crawfords, he was not that good in managing his finances. If he had money, he would spend it. If he had finished it, then he would think of something. Since no one had given him any money for the past few years, his savings had almost dried up. He opened up his bank app and noticed that he only had cash in the five digits left.

Asher said with a smile, "As long as we don't get anything too expensive, it should be enough." "If we're going out to eat from now on, I'll pay," Noelle said with a smile. She then continued, "I don't mind being your sugar mama, haha."

The Solstice Hotel was a well-known locale in Alexandrius. Those who spent their time here were either rich or influential.

Originally, Asher wanted to book a room. However, Noelle felt that it was a bore, and so they chose to be seated in the dining hall. However, its environment was just as good as the private room. There were around eight dining tables, and each of them came with leather sofas. The light was soft with potted plants decorating its surroundings. It added to the life of the place. To the right of one of the dinner tables was a French Window, and they could see the famous Hawk Tower as well as the city's night view from where they were.

Noelle originally wanted to be seated there so that they could enjoy a meal and the night view, but the waiter merely said with a smile, "I'm sorry, but that table has been reserved. Maybe you can sit over on this side?"

When Noelle heard that, a flash of disappointment appeared on her face. However, it only appeared for a moment. She then said with a smile, "It's alright, Asher. We'll sit over there." However, Asher was not that happy and said to the waiter, "If this one is reserved, there are still a few over on this side, right?" While they could not see the Hawk Tower and the night view as clearly as that table, they could at least see a little bit of it.

The waiter then said apologetically, "I'm so sorry, sir. These tables have all been reserved too." "It's okay, Asher. We'll sit over there." Of course, Noelle knew what Asher was thinking. He would try and get anything she liked. However, it was the thought alone that was important to her. Whether she actually had that seat or not was of little significance.

Not to mention that someone who could reserve so many seats must not be someone nameless. Currently, Asher was at his lowest point. Noelle did not want to get Asher into trouble for something so insignificant.

With that, Noelle pulled Asher's arm and headed toward a seat deeper inside.

"Oh, look who's here? It's Asher who has just been exiled from the Crawford household. Haha, what? You want this seat by the window? Call me master thrice, and maybe I'll let you have it."

At this time, the main door opened, and he could hear a cold laughter. Asher turned around and saw the familiar face of someone wearing a pair of glasses.

It was Jeremiah.

Sebastian had asked Jeremiah to come over first to settle the menu, but he did not expect to hear Asher's voice. In the past, Jeremiah would be worried about Asher. He had heard about his notoriousness when he was still in primary school. However, it was all different now. Asher had been exiled by the Crawfords. Without the household's protection, Asher was all alone. Not to mention that Sebastian was back. As his younger brother, Jeremiah no longer needed to be afraid of anyone.

Noelle had met Jeremiah at the automobile club last time and knew that he was a famous scion in the capital city. She immediately dragged Asher by the arm and said, "Asher, let's eat somewhere else."

"There's no need to let a dog affect our mood. We'll eat here," Asher said with a smile. When Jeremiah heard that, he was so angry that he yelled, "Asher, who the hell are you calling a dog? Why don't you say it straight to my face, huh? I'll beat you up right now!"

Jeremiah wanted to rush over and attack Asher, but Juliette quickly pulled him back. She had seen what Asher was capable of last time at the club. Jeremiah could not defeat Asher.

"At your face?" Asher laughed. "Fine, I'll fulfill your wish. I'm calling you, Jeremiah Macquoid, a dog."

Even though Asher had already been exiled by the Crawfords, his pride was carved into his bones. It was not something that could be so easily changed.

"Juliette! Let me go! I want to kill this bastard!" Jeremiah yelled furiously.

However, Juliette did not dare to let go as she said, "Jeremiah, calm down. There's no need to lower yourself to his level."

"Damn it! How dare you call me a dog, Asher! Just you fucking wait! Without the Crawfords' protection, you're less than a dog! If I don't teach you a lesson tonight, I'll eat my hat," Jeremiah yelled out relentlessly.

Asher still wanted to say something but Noelle also quickly stopped him and pulled him to the sofa with all her strength.

Jeremiah then cursed and said, "Where's your manager? Tell him to get his ass out here right now! Why did you simply let just anyone into your hotel? A certain someone is so unscrupulous and even wanted to rape his cousin. I'm disgusted that I have to eat at the same place as him! Get him out of here!"

Noelle could already see Asher's face slowly darkening. She wanted to stop Asher, but it was already too late.

Asher stood up and walked toward Jeremiah with murderous intent. Even Jeremiah could not help but take a few steps back from seeing how terrifying Asher had become. He emboldened himself and said, "What the fuck do you think you're doing, Asher? If you so much as lift a finger at me, I guarantee that you'll be crawling out of this place tonight!"

"Is that so?" Asher looked at Jeremiah with disdain. Without the chains of being the scion of the Crawfords, Asher no longer had to consider how his actions would affect the household. He could beat Jeremiah if he wanted to. The worst that could happen was that he would have to face revenge from the Macquoids.

At this time, Sebastian's voice came from outside the door, "That's right. Try it if you don't believe

it."

Try it.

Sebastian's voice was not loud at all, but it was filled with danger.

Asher was much too familiar with Sebastian's voice. The moment he heard it, it felt as if a gong was ringing in his head. He was stunned for a few seconds.

When he regained his composure, the door was once again opened up. A svelte figure appeared in his sight. It was Sebastian with his signature faint smile.

Previously, he heard from Rose that Sebastian was coming back soon. However, Asher did not realize that he would be back so soon. He was completely caught unprepared for Sebastian to appear in front of him. No wonder Jeremiah was being so aggressive. He had a backer. Sebastian had his hands in his pocket, and behind him was Rose and the others. From the looks of it, Sebastian's status in their circle was nothing that even Rose could match. Griffin originally wanted to go home, but after being invited by Sebastian again and again, he finally decided to go along.

When he saw all the familiar faces, Asher's frown deepened. Even after he had left for a few years, Sebastian's standing was still as strong as ever. Even Asher had to admit defeat just on that alone.

Both Rose and Griffin did not expect to see Asher and Noelle in this place. While it was inappropriate to say that enemies were bound to fight one way or another, it was clear that Jeremiah was not going to let him leave from this encounter.

"Brother." Jeremiah instantly became confident when he saw Sebastian walk in. He then walked over to Asher with his chest pumped, the sneer on his face for all to see. "Why are you all so late!

I was going to get beaten up if you showed up any later!"

Jeremiah then gave Asher a provoking glance, as if he was saying, "come on, attack me".

Sebastian then said with a calm smile, "With me here, no one can touch you."
