Secret Lure of a Cat Demon

Chapter Setting Things in Motion

We lay there for a long time. I do not know how long but when I finally sat up I felt determined and like everything I had done was not a waste.

I needed to keep my self busy though. It would be the only way to wait. I gave my mother one last hug and then I walked out the room. I headed to a certain room. When I got there I knocked on the door and walked in. Lilith was in the middle of the room on her hands. Her eyes were closed but she was smiling.

“What a pleasure. I feel quite rejected” She commented with out opening her eyes.

“I have been busy” I told her.

“Three days Zev.” Her eyes opened and they were full of hate. “Your mind has been taken over by Danni and Katsi. Gur even confided in me. You haven’t spoken to him in even longer.” It was true. Gur and I had always been so close and I had shut him out. He was the only one to know what I was feeling. He knew that I was becoming like my uncle and he told me I would fall for Katsi. He knew me so well and yet I was unable to tell that I had been neglecting him.

I sighed and looked at the intricate design on the ceiling. Lilith flipped on to her feet and smiled at me. I knew she was going to say something but I shook my head. I knew what it was. “Don’t worry about it” That would be the words she would relay to me.

Not to worry. Everything would be fine but I knew in my heart that everything wasn’t. Danni had appeared and all I have been occupied with was him. Even my time with Katsi had been revolved around him. I don’t know why or how it was happening but it was true and he needed to be gotten rid of.

“You need not to worry about it and sort everything out.” I nodded at her words. Maybe she was right. I wad going to sort it.

“Gather everyone up, in the court, the training hall somewhere everyone will fit.” I told her.

“What are you thinking?” she asked. I smiled at her.

“We are going to set things in motion.” I told her. She nodded slowly

“What about Katsi?” she asked. I sighed. That was right, she was still in her room. Or so I hoped she was.

“I will check on her.” I told Lilith. She nodded.

“What do I tell them?” she asked as she walked past me. I thought about it and smiled.

“Nothing. Just tell then that I want to see them all.” she nodded, bowed and left. I sighed. I left Lilith’s room and headed back to Katsi’s room. I opened the door and she was still there, sleeping. I was glad. She didn’t need to see this, in fact it would be best if she stayed sleeping for a very long time. She was exhausted.

I shut the door quietly and helped Lilith gather everyone. It didn’t take very long but just as everyone was settled Gur came up to me.

“What is going on?” he asked me.

“We are setting things in motion my dear friend. After this week, everything can go back to normal, Katsi will be free to leave, Lilith will be my top girl and you will my top guy, just like it was.” I told him. Gur frowned at me. He didn’t understand and never would. I smiled at him and made my way to the stage someone had made quickly. Everyone in front of me took a bow.

“I call you here today to talk to you all. I have a lot of things to say and I need your patience” Everyone stared at me and nodded.

“First off, in the last few weeks there has been many a challenges for a lot of you. First off, I have not been very faithful to you, mostly to my guard pack. A woman came here a few weeks ago and under my protection I am responsible meaning that she is also under guard protection. Everything that has happened could mostly be due to her. I have neglected you.

“A few days ago, an old enemy returned and he is mad. I have to admit that I nearly lost myself when he returned but I pulled through and with the great help from certain people I was able to get things in motion. What I need from you now is help. I have things to take care of and someone to kill.” I paused for a little bit. People were looking at me intensely.

“I need reports, evidence, and most of all I need evidence towards a child. This will be the hardest but I know it existed and a death and birth certificate must exist. Now who ever wants to help then stay but who ever isn’t interested then leave.” The back door opened. I didn’t look at who entered and I didn’t care. Maybe it was a late comer to the meeting. “If you help, you will be a great help in getting rid of Danni and helping me finish Katsi’s sentence so she can leave. She doesn’t belong here, with us.” I heard a disgusted sigh to my side and I finally looked at the person who entered. Katsi stood there looking at me. Tears started falling down her face. She shone brightly and I couldn’t ignore that but I wanted her have a live away from here. He shook her head and ran from the room.

Lilith glared at me and I sighed. Could I go back on what I just said. The hatred in my words were strong, I knew that but she needed to understand that she didn’t belong here. I didn’t run after her and people stared at me.

The next thing I knew my back was against the wall and an arm pressed against my neck.

“That was harsh” I opened my eyes to see Gur looking at me with passionate hate in his.

“She needed to hear it” I told him. He punched me in the face and I heard a few people yelp.

“You love the woman you asshole, you don’t deserve to be Lord of the Guard or even king. You don’t even deserve her.” he spat at me. People were watching in fear. They knew never to question my thoughts or my orders and here Gur was directly ignoring them. “You don’t want her to leave, and I know she doesn’t want to leave. She talks to me, and I know she doesn’t. She wanted to got eh that library to find out information. She wants to be here to help out. You can’t just kick her out.”

“She hates me, and will never love me why should I try?” I muttered.

“Because she is the one” Some one shouted from the crowd. Gur stepped back and nodded smiling.

“Because you care!” Someone else shouted. Soon people were shouting reasons at me. I sighed. I collapsed on the floor. I looked up at Gur.

“What is wrong with me Gur? I don’t know what is wrong with me.” I leant on the wall behind me and closed my eyes. “I am so tired.” I whispered. Everything was going quiet as I started to drift off.

All I heard was Gur telling Lilith to get Katsi. I black out after that. I was so grateful.
