Chapter Lazy Cats and Dogs
She was a gorgeous specimen. Her legs were long and shaped well. Muscles toned to perfection made them, of course, the perfect set of legs. Her hips swayed from side to side like a cat and they were small but not too small. Her waist was dainty but shaped well. Her stomach, flat, made her breast look ample. Her hair was gorgeous. It shone in the light of the moon. It was black but it had a gold tint to it. It was curly and it fell down most of her back. Her face was shadowed so I never got a good look but I knew she would be stunning all the same. Shame, execution is an inevitable thing when you do what she did.
If this all went well she would be dead by tomorrow evening. First thing first, we have to get her there and it was not going so well; she was purposefully playing damsel in distress. It was midnight as we were not even half way there. If she was more cooperative then we would but she seemed to taking the hard routes through the woods. I looked at her again and she had collapsed on a rock.
“Oh, don’t bother saying a dickey bird, I need a rest.” She mouthed off. I rolled my eyes.
“Cats.” I muttered to myself. “They are so damn lazy.” Her eyes darted at me.
“Says you Wolf-man, during the summer, you wolves go hiding for...well the whole summer, no one sees you or the pack. I thought my kind was lazy - at least we experience the whole year.” She spat. I had to give it to her, she was right but that did not mean that we were lazy, in those months we are raising our young.
“Well, at least we raise our young in safety, not out in the open of predators.” I shot back at her. She shot me another glance.
“At least our young grow up strong and experienced. At least our young aren’t weak and can fight for themselves,” she said to me. There, she crossed the line. I walked up to her and slapped her.
“Shut your mouth this instant. One more word, I’ll rip your throat out, now get your skinny little kitty ass moving, and stop the damsel in distress act, it isn’t working, though it is amusing.” I told her.
“I’ll never shut up.” She said and spat on the floor in front of me. I slapped her again.
“Shut your trap!” I was close to shouting but I was pissed. The jibe about our young went over the line. She knew it and was relishing in it. I knew that pain did not do anything for her except fuel her.
“Sir?” Someone touched my arm. I looked around and Gur stood there. “It isn’t doing any good; she won’t do anything with you hitting her.” I looked back at her and she looked wild.
“I guess so.” I felt myself calm down and I sighed. I crouched in front of her. “Gur, can you get some cloth and water please?” He bowed and Katsi looked up at me. I smiled. “Sorry about that, you jibed about something I feel strongly about - not a good thing.” Katsi nodded understanding.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know,” She whispered.
“I know, and I over reacted, I fuelled you into it as I reacted like I did, I should have just left you not giving you the satisfaction and then later rip up a tree and chuck it somewhere to rot.” I told her. She smiled and then grimaced.
“Sir, the stuff.” I looked up behind me and Gur stood there. I smiled.
“Thank you Gur” I then looked at Katsi and smiled. “Look at me.” she did. Her face was gorgeous and even when she was slapped there was nothing wrong with it. I still could not see much of it but she was beautiful. Down one side of her face there was something the shone more than her skin. What it was I did not know, and I did not want to ask. I took the cloth out of the bowl of warm water and rung it out. I rolled it up and placed it on Katsi’s face.
“What is your name?” she muttered.
“Mine?” I questioned. I was startled to say the least; no one has ever asked our name before. She nodded confirming my words. “Zev.” I told her.
“Zev?” she asked me. I nodded. “Just Zev?” she asked. I nodded again.
“Wolves normally don’t live outside with the humans, we don’t need anything else.” I informed her.
“And that was...?” She asked, nodding towards Gur.
“That is my closest trusted friend GurWulf; he is German but speaks perfect English with a normal accent, no German in him apparently.” I told her. She giggled a bit.
“Where are you from?” she asked with curiousness. I could hear it. In her voice, that tone telling me she wanted to know more.
“Nowhere special.” I told her.
“No, tell me. I know you are not really from here or your family is not, you have a slight accent in your voice. So where are you from?” She persisted. I sighed.
“Let’s say Europe and leave it at that.” I told her and I started to get up. I put the cloth back in the water.
“Wait.” She nearly cried out. I stopped and looked behind me.
“Maybe before I’m trialled or sentenced you can show me your tree ripping skills.” she said to me, her eyes glowing. I didn’t smile. I couldn’t.
“Maybe.” I told her. It is all I could have. I knew I could not promise her anything.
I walked away and Gur looked at me with a strange look. I growled at him slightly and he just grinned. I knew he was thinking things and I knew he was going to get it right and at this particular moment, I did not want to know.
A few hours later with a little of Katsi’s cooperation, we were at court. It was big for just being a court. It held, of course, all of the Guard, though most stayed with the King and Queen, who controlled demon world.
The guard broke up and I was left to deal with Katsi.
