There’s always a sense of bliss that follows completing a new book. Just seeing something that you’ve worked hard on finally completed, there’s nothing really quite like it. I would like to take a moment to thank all of you for reading this series! You all really do bring it to life!

I would also like to thank InHouse Publishing and their wonderful team who have once again helped me put this book out in the world, rather than just as a document saved to my computer! Your amazing, talented team are fantastic, and I have no idea where I would be without your dedication and help!

‘Seconds to Midnight’ was a prequel to the story of Destiny and her allies in ‘Maiden of Midnight’, and was a stark reminder that our (or at least my) favourite Assassin has a dark and troubled past, wrought with an unloving father and evil Manor that breed even worse ideals in its citizens. It also serves as a reminder of what humanity can do to each other. For centuries, we have been at each other’s throats, often with devastating consequences for others. I like to hope that one day we’ll turn away from those deeply-bred instincts, and be a little better for the future generations to come after us.

Thank you all once again for bringing Destiny’s story to life! I value each and every one of my readers, which is why this book is dedicated to all of you!

I look forward to bringing all of you new and exciting stories, both from The Borderlands and beyond!

Here’s to the worlds that live only in people’s minds, the authors that put pen to paper, and the readers that bring it all together!

Read on for four bonus chapters!

(These will contain spoilers for the ‘Maiden of Midnight’ series, so read at your own discretion! If you haven’t read my ‘The Borderlands’ series, I suggest you check it out before these chapters! Once you’ve read that series, come back and read on!)
