Chapter 74
The crusaders’ work was almost done. As little less than a year had passed since they set out on their quest to find the missing sunlight. Along the way, they had encountered many obstacles and suffered great hardship, but not once did the five inseparable friends turn their backs on what they believed was their destiny. Not for a moment did their faith in The Creator, or in Treewoodkind, falter as they fought selflessly to end the scourge of evil that had been imposed upon the earth by the Devil and his unelected henchmen.
In their insatiable desire for power, these greedy arrogant fools ruled the land purely for their own ends, never once stopping to consider the needs and wishes of the Treewood people, whose best interests they were supposed to manage.
Blinded by wealth and driven by greed, to their detriment, the so called leaders of the Grand Council failed to heed both the wishes of the ordinary Treewood and the writings in the Great Trunk of Treewood history, which states clearly that, in the end, goodness will, without exception, prevail.
Safe in the knowledge that these ancient prophesies are true, The Treewood Nation will never be fooled again.
Goodness had indeed prevailed and the long battle for peace and equality was finally over. The earth and the forest had been returned to its rightful custodians and all the evil that ever was had been banished for good.
All around, the travellers could hear the sounds of happiness and merrymaking as news of the demons’ demise quickly spread. The earth had awakened from a long sleep and the dawn of a new and more gentle order had begun.
