Chapter 1: Requite Him Now
Donna Shaw stood in the doorway, tugging the corners of her coat in an uneasy manner. She looked down at her muddy white
shoes and was too scared to move forward.
"Come here."
Paul Martin said as he took off his suit.
lt was obvious that the sleeve of his white shirt on his right arm had been cut into a large hole by a knife that the blood soaked
through his sleeve, making it a shocking sight.
When Donna saw his wound, she hurriedly took off her shoes and ran over to him in her bare feet.
She held Paul's arm tremblingly, forcing herself to restrain the blood-sickness left over from that previous incident, "You bleed a
lot!"
Donna's eyes were filled with tears as she spoke.
As her mother was seriously ill and needed money to play huge medical bills, she had to work in a bar every night.
Just now she chose the alley next to the bar to go back to the hospital in order to save time to take care of her mother, but did
not expect to meet three hooligans tonight.
If this man hadn't happened to pass by and saved her, she dreaded to think what would happen tonight.
"Give me the medicine box."
Paul said indifferently while pushing her away to sit on the luxurious black leather sofa in an elegant gesture.
Following his instructions, Donna saw a large and somewhat exaggerated medicine box on a wooden shelf of rosewood and
hurriedly turned to get it.
"Wait."
Paul stopped Donna.
After seeing her blood-stained dress, he said with disgust, "You go ahead and take a shower first."
Donna's fingers were almost touching the medicine cabinet by this time.
She looked down and saw the dried blood spots on her dress, her cheeks flushed red, she turned around and said awkwardly,
"Okay."
Looking at the closed bathroom door, Paul had mixed feelings.
The warm water poured down from the top of Donna's head, causing her hair to stick to her face in strands.
Donna looked at the white mist in front of her and her mind went blank.
After a while, she wiped the water off her face and saw the male shirt hanging on the shelf through the water mist, making her
face feel hot.
The male shirt was so large that it made Donna look even more petite.
The shirt just covered her buttocks, resulting in her jade-like white legs exposing.
Her wet hair was a bit messy but it also made her small face more beautiful.
There was a click of the door opening.
After she opened the bathroom door, her outstretched feet felt cold and instinctively shrank back, and at that moment, her phone
rang.
Donna immediately turned around and took out her phone from her clothes hanging on the side.
As soon as she picked up, she heard her mother's anxious voice, "Donna, why aren't you back yet?"
"Mom, I'm still on late shift.'' Donna held the door frame and tried to calm herself down, "I'll probably be working late, so I'm
taking the night off at a colleague's house tonight.’’
Donna's mother said worriedly, "Don't work too hard."
"It's time to pay the fee for bed 32, or we'll have to stop your medicine tomorrow!"
The nurse's voice interrupted their conversation, so Donna hurriedly said, "Mom, don't worry.I've got a big case today, and I will
pay the bill tomorrow.’’ Paul wondered if he was the one the"big cases referring to.
Outside the bathroom, he heard her words with an imperceptible smile on his face.
A knock on the door interrupted Donna's thoughts so she opened the bathroom door to meet Paul's obsidian-like eyes which
made her stunned.
That's when she got a clear look at what Paul looked like.
This man was born very good-looking with a cold aura that she was familiar with.
His thick black eyebrows hang on the cold glinting eyes.
His thin lips were pursed into straight lines, as if carefully depicted by an artist.
"Sorry, I can't find any other clothes.’ Donna tugged nervously at the shirt on her body, and when she looked down, she glanced
at the wound on his arm and hurriedly said, "Shall I help you bandage your wound?"
Paul narrowed his eyes and looked closely at Donna.
Her slender body was wrapped in the large shirt.
Her hair was dripping wet on her shoulders, and droplets of water ran down her neck into the open collar of her shirt, stopping at
her collarbone and finally rolling into the deeper part of the shirt.
Paul swallowed then turned around and sat back on the sofa.
He found Donna who was still frozen in place and said calmly, "Come here."
Donna didn't think much about it and ran barefoot to get alcohol pads and antiseptic water.
She half squatted beside him, raising her white face and whispering, "It may hurt a little. Please put up with it."
