Saying Goodbye to My Troubles (Nydia and Mick)

Chapter Saying Goodbye To My Troubles 10

Chapter 10

Mick had been spending most of his time either at the company or drinking. He had left Ted with Mona and had taken to being a hands-off parent.

His group of drinking buddies would constantly urge him to drink, and each time, he would end up utterly drunk.

Eventually, a friend had to drop him off at home. The next morning, he would drag himself back to the office, and the cycle repeated. It was all starting to get on his nerves.

He wondered why Nydia hadn't sent him a message to stop him yet.

Back when Nydia had said she was a surgeon but preferred studying traditional medicine, he had thought little of it. Fortunately, the hospital she worked at combined both modern and traditional medicine, and she had trained under experts.

She could make medicinal meals to help him with his health, but the catch was, he couldn't drink alcohol. Every time she saw him drunk, Nydia would get angry. Yet, she would always come to his rescue, making a special hangover soup for him. Lately, he hadn't had access to her special remedy, and his stomach had begun to ache. So, he

called Bob.

After examining him, Bob prescribed a variety of medications and warned him again to avoid alcohol. Mick, irritated, had sent Bob away. Bob quickly grabbed his medical bag and left.

Unlike Nydia, who would patiently deal with him no matter how poorly he treated her.

Suddenly, Mick's friend, Stephan Hampton, sent him a video.

"Mick, this woman in the video... She looks a lot like Nydia."

Mick quickly clicked on the video. It was from the time Nydia had tried to treat Brigham but got blocked by his bodyguards. In the video, Nydia had cut her hair short, and she wore a plain white coat, looking utterly unadorned.

Even when she was being thwarted, there was no sign of weakness in her demeanor, She didn't look like someone who had been broken by their divorce. In fact, Mick had to admit that Nydia looked more alive now than before. This realization angered him. Then, in the video, he saw the silhouette of a man.

Although he couldn't see his face, the man's aura was undeniable. It wasn't someone ordinary.

"Really? It's only been this long, and she's already found someone new?" Mick thought, his mind racing. He wondered about all the promises she had made regarding her love for him.

The more he thought about it, the more his anger surged. Now, all he could picture was Nydia flattering and catering to some other man. The thought was driving him crazy. Chapter 10

They hadn't even officially divorced yet and she was already so eager to embarrass him.

His mind raced with anger as he tried to grasp the situation. But after a long pause, he finally realized his emotions had spiraled too far out of control.

He rubbed his temples, feeling the pressure build. Now, he understood why he was so angry. Legally speaking, Nydia was still his wife.

As his wife, she should understand the boundaries between men and women. There were

limits.

His woman could not belong to anyone else. Even if he had made up his mind not to go back, while their marriage still existed, no one was allowed to humiliate him.

He immediately called Stephan. "How did you get that video of her?"

Stephan was stunned by the question "Mick, is that really Nydia?"

Mick's face darkened, and he didn't reply. Stephan, unable to see his expression, continued. obliviously.

"Nydia is pretty famous now. She's saved countless lives in the hospital, and there are so many people seeking her treatment."

Mick scoffed. With fame, she would only get busier, and working overtime would become a regular occurrence. She didn't need to waste her time chasing after hollow recognition.

If she truly liked this kind of fame, the title of "Mrs. Wilcher" would hold more significance.

And he had already decided that if she gave up her job and became a full-time housewife, he would give her the wedding she wanted.

But no, she hadn't recognized his offer and refused to quit her job. Now, even if she was famous, it didn't make any difference.

The Wilcher family could destroy her career with just one word.

"Mick, there are so many injured here. Should I get a protection order? No, I need to leave. Hurry up and arrange my flight." Mick suddenly realized something. "Wait-you're abroad?"

"Yeah, I'm in a war zone. I came here for an interview, but it's getting chaotic, and I can't stay here anymore.

H

Mick gritted his teeth. "So, she went overseas?"

Stephan was momentarily speechless. "Mick, isn't your focus a little off? I have no protection. here, so please get me out of here." Then, Stephan paused as he realized something.

"This is strange. Nydia was always with you. I never expected her to leave you and go abroad. Did you two have a fight? Are you getting a divorce?" Mick gripped his phone tightly. "Is it dangerous over there?"

"Of course, my safety is at risk right now."

"Send me the address." Mick almost commanded.

Stephan didn't ask any further questions and immediately sent the address to him.

Mick was already making arrangements to leave the country. However, as Mick reached the door, his expression darkened.

Nydia had deliberately left so decisively, clearly to make him worry. If he went abroad now to find her, she would probably flaunt it in some way.

When danger found her, and there was no one to protect her, that was when she would crawl back to him, begging for help. His steps faltered, then he turned back to the living room, settling onto the couch.

"I'll figure out how to keep you safe, but you need to keep an eye on her. Don't let her get into trouble."

Stephan understood immediately. "Looks like you two really did have a fight. Fine, I'll keep an eye on her. But, Mick, aren't you going to apologize?"

"Apologize? When has it ever not been her who gave in first?" Mick muttered.

"True, true. But hey, you must have some charm, or else no one would put up with you."

That night, Nydia didn't sleep well. The brutal scenes from the battlefield haunted her dreams. By the time she woke up, it was already late in the morning.

Beside her, Norman sat on a small stool, playing with his toys. He was unusually quiet.

Upon hearing her voice, Norman looked over and said, "Ms. Vega, my uncle still-isn't up. He's probably out doing something bad."

Nydia's stretching motion suddenly froze. The waistline she had seen last night kept flashing in her mind. She nearly lost control. "You're just a little kid, what do you know?"

"I'm not a little kid!" Norman immediately retorted, "I know everything."

Then, with a sigh, he seemed unusually troubled for someone his age.

Nydia raised an eyebrow in surprise. "You're still so young, and already have worries?"

Norman nodded, looking embarrassed. "My uncle is not very good-looking, so I made a poster with his photo, hoping to find a wife for him. But no one wants to come. Nydia burst into laughter, imagining the cold and aloof Eddie being dragged into such an arrangement by his own nephew.

""Isn't it possible they're just too scared?"

"They're afraid to be my uncle's wife?"

Nydia thought for a moment. "Well... Maybe they're just afraid of dying?"

Norman frowned again, looking upset.

But soon after, he raised his head. "Ms. Vega, why don't you become my uncle's wife? You're not scared of him."
