Chapter 9

ur turn to ask!”

“It’s not your

Milo did not know what to say.

“Also, find out the relationship between Elena and the little girl we saw today!”

Milo was very confused. ‘Mr. Cameron, are you suspecting that the little girl’s mother is the Sevier Group’s chief designer?”

Anson didn’t say anything more and hung up the call, leaving the busy tone to Milo.

Milo rubbed his temples and felt Anson might have an unpleasant day today.

He sent a voice message to Anson.

“Mr. Cameron, I will find out as soon as possible!”

Anson threw the phone aside.

Ding-dong

The doorbell rang, making him frown deeply.

The butler. John, knocked on the door and said, “Mr. Cameron, Ms. White is here.”

The temperature around Anson instantly dropped to freezing point.

Lamia came in with an insulated lunch box, smiling coquettishly.

She was having a bad enough day as she apologized to a kid and Anson gave her a cold shoulder.

After her agent, Amanda, sent her the photos at the racecourse, she was so furious that she smashed her phone.

Anson had never looked at her affectionately in the past five years.

After smashing and throwing a few more things, Lamia finally calmed down.

She had to find out the wornan who was stared at by Anson affectionately.

She was able to get rid of Elaine five years ago, now so there was no way she was going to let another woman snatch Ahson away

Anson could only belong to her.

“Anson, I made soup for you. Drink some, will you?”

“I have no appetite.”

“Anson…

Tm tired and just want to be alone for a while.”

Lamia’s fingers were pinched into her palm, and she could barely maintain the smile on her face.

“Then I’ll leave after you have some soup!” Lamia insisted.

Anson’s eyes locked on Lamia’s face.

Everyone knew about the photo of him at the racecourse. He was certain Lamia saw it, too.

However, not only did she not mention the photo, but she even made soup and sent it to him personally. Everything about what she was doing was fishy.

“I’ll ask the driver to send you back.”

“Anson, Elaine is gone for five years! You still can’t forget her?”

The veins on Anson’s forehead popped out, and a cold frost covered his handsome face instantly.

“I can understand how you feel now. It’s the same as how I didn’t believe that the kidnapping case five years ago was planned by Elaine. I’ve tried countless times to convince myself that there must be something wrong, but the truth was that Elaine planned everything!”

Hearing the past, Anson clenched his fists so hard that the veins on the back of his hands were visible.

“Anson, your went to great lengths to protect Elaine, erasing every trace of what happened five years ago. But in the depths of your heart, you too harbor resentment towards Elaine for what she did, don’t you?”

Anson pointed at the door and sternly reprimanded, “Get out of my sight right now!”

Lamia had achieved her purpose of this visit. Hence, there was indeed no need to stay any longer.

The corners of her eyes were red, and she said while sobbing. “Anson, for the past five years, I have had nightmares every night. I wished countless times that Elaine would come back safely, so I could ask her why she treated me like this!”

“Lamia!” Anson’s eyes turned bloodshot. “Get out!”

Hearing the quarrel, John hurried to the door. After knocking on the door, he opened the door, walked in, and politely said to Lamia, “Ms. White, it’s best if you leave now. Mr. Cameron is in a very bad mood today.”

“Anson, don’t forget to drink the soup!”

After Lamia left, Anson lit a cigarette and took a deep puff, trying to suppress the restless anger burning in his chest.
