Chapter 14
Eddy lost his balance and hit his head on the table, causing an instant swelling and redness.
For a moment, everything around seemed to have been put on pause.
Rhonda and Mabel hurriedly helped Eddy up, repeatedly asking if he felt dizzy or uncomfortable.
Pressing his forehead, Eddy looked at Lamia with a grievous expression and asked in a weak voice, “Miss, you pushed Evie carlier, and now you’ve made me hit my head on purpose. What did we do wrong?”
Though Rhonda was usually gentle, she always stood up for what was right.
Since Lamia had just been in a strange situation with Julian, Eddy, and Evie, Rhonda was certain that Lamia intentionally harmed Eddy.
“Ms. White, how can you treat a child this way? You’ve gone too far!”
“It’s obvious he got dizzy on his own. If I hadn’t pushed him away, would I have just let him run into me?”
“Ms. White you are an adult!” Fearing Eddy might have a concussion, Rhonda turned to Mabel and said, “Can you watch the kids? I need to take Eddy to the medical room for a check-up.”
“Of course!”
With teary eyes, Evie pointed at Lamia angrily,
“You old witch! You pushed me earlier, and my bottom still hurts. Now you’ve hurt Eddy’s head. You are so mean!”
Many concerned and accusatory stares settled on Lamia.
When Lamia caught Eva looking at her with complex eyes, she almost exploded on the spot.
Julian had already posted the video of Lamia pushing Eddy online, and with his technical means, he pushed that video to the top ten trending topics.
[I can’t believe Lamia turns out to be this kind of person! Was her usual friendly act just for show?]
[If I hadn’t witnessed it with my own eyes, it would be hard to believe! Lamia is simply outrageous!]
Rhonda took Eddy to the infirmary, where the school doctor suggested sending Eddy to the hospital.. Rhonda called Elaine, looking guilty.
Elaine left everything behind and hurried to the hospital.
Meanwhile, at Cameron Group..
When Milo saw the trending topics, he thought his eyes were deceiving him.
He couldn’t understand why that child who was pushed down and injured by Lamia looked so much like Anson.
As Anson’s executive assistant, Milo had honed his observational skills over time. Upon seeing that cute little girl, he Immediately had a realization
Milo rushed to Anson’s office and said, “Mr. Cameron!”
Inside the office, on the sharply angular face of Anson, his brow furrowed deeply, and his eyes were bloodshot from staying up late,
“I’m sorry for forgetting to knock on the door, but there was a reason,” Milo said, looking apologetic.
“What’s the matter?”
Anson’s words were as cold as ice.
“Mr. Cameron, Ms. White is on the trending search!”
Anson didn’t care about it.
Lamia had frequently been trending recently, and Anson knew most of it was due to self-promotion activities.
Seeing that he remained calm, Milo hurriedly said, “Mr. Cameron, please watch this video.”
After he watched the video, a glimmer of coldness appeared in Anson’s eyes.
Anson thought angrily, Lamia had pushed that little girl before, and now she’s pushed another boy.
If Lamia doesn’t like children, why does she bother live streaming and creating trending topics with them?”
“Mr Cameron, please look at this boy: Milo replayed the video.
After paying attention to that little boy, Anson was shocked.
He thought, That boy looked so much like me.
The little girl looked so much like Elaine.
“Mr. Cameron, I just contacted Sunshine Kindergarten. They are currently at Vitality Hospital”
Anson stood up abruptly and quickly left, like a gust of wind.
When Anson arrived at the hospital, Elaine also hurriedly arrived, appearing flustered.
When their eyes met, Elaine’s eyes no longer held composure and seductiveness; they were filled with worry and boundless hatred.
Anson’s brow furrowed deeply.
“Anson, if anything happens to my child, I swear I’ll make your fiancée go to hell!”
Every word was chilling to the bone.
From a distance, with red eyes, Lamia rushed up as soon as she spotted Anson.
“Anson… Lamia cried.
When Lamia’s gaze shifted to Elaine’s face, the color drained from her face in an instant. The shock made her tremble all over.
Lamia thought, ‘Elaine
How could she still be alive?
Elaine looked at Anson, who had rushed over with a nervous expression, feeling as if her heart was being torn apart.
It seemed like Anson really cared about Lamia.
Anger and hatred mixed together, raging in Elaine’s heart. She walked toward Lamia with large strides, raised her hand, and slapped Lamia across her face without hesitation.
A metallic taste spread in Lamia’s mouth as her face was slapped to the side, and a burning sensation lingered on her cheek.
“Lamia White, if anything happens to my child, I will never let you off!”
Lamia slowly regained her senses from the shock and faced Elaine’s fiery eyes.
“What gives you the righ to hit me?”
“You are heartless!” After uttering these words, Elaine left for the clinic.
Upon hearing the news, Martin rushed over with a worried expression.
“Elena!”
Elaine, no longer fierce, anxiously looked at Martin.
“Don’t worry. Everything will be fine!”
As Martin affectionately patted Elaine’s shoulder, Elaine leaned on him for support. Witnessing this, Anson couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy in his heart.
“Mommy!”
Seeing Elaine so worried, Eddy couldn’t help but feel a little sorry.
“I’m fine. It doesn’t hurt at all.”
Elaine checked Eddy again from top to bottom to ensure he was alright, then embraced him.
“Ms. Gray, today’s incident was just a misunderstanding.”
Seeing that reporters had already arrived at the hospital, Lamia feared the situation would worsen and wanted to downplay iL.
“A misunderstanding?!”
These two words were cold and hard as if ground out from between Elaine’s teeth.
Elaine left Eddy in Martin’s care and slowly stood up. Her gaze was sharp and piercing, and her beautiful face was clouded with a gloomy expression, emanating an unhidden hatred that sent shivers down the spines of those who saw her.
Elaine walked over and forcefully pushed Lamia,
Lamia was wearing severi-centimeter high heels today. Caught off guard, Lamia leaned to one side, and her shoulder hit the wall.
“Ah! It hurts!”
She held her shoulder with her hand and gasped.
Elaine coldly stared at her and said, “I’m sorry, Ms. White. It was a misunderstanding. I can apologize!”
Elaine repeated Lamia’s words back to her, causing Lamia’s face to visibly pale.
Anson’s eyes locked onto Elaine.
Elaine looked up, mocking with a cold smile, and asked, “What’s the matter? Mr. Cameron, do you want to help your fiancée vent her anger?”
“I want to set the record straight.” Anson’s gaze grew colder, and his tone was as icy as ever.
