Chapter 52
Chapter Fifty Two Eat Up
Ryan picked up one of the boxes of takeout, scooping some of the chicken onto my plate. "Eat up, baby girl. You'll need it."
My face felt hot and I knew that he was right. If the rest of the night went anything as it had earlier. I was going to be sore and desperately hungry afterwards. Jason was busy filling his plate up before he picked up his beer and took a large pull from the bottle
When Ryan was happy with everything he had put onto my plate. I picked up my fork, stabbing into a shrimp before taking a bite. My eyes slipped closed as I chewed. I didn't know if it was that good or I was just that hungry, but it was the best Chinese food that I had ever had
Opening my eyes, I took another bite of food. This time the rice that Ryan had put onto my plate. It was delicious. The rice, the egg, the carrots, and peas. I hadn't realized how hungry I was until I started eating and then I couldn't seem to stop
After a few minutes, I looked over at Ryan, noticing the amused smile that tugged at his lips. I looked down at my plate, sitting up straighter. "Sorry, I was hungry."
"There is no need to be sorry. I've heard that single matings can wear a human out. You've mated with three of us." Ryan said, lifting up his beer and taking a drink of it.
"Is it not normal to share a mate?" I asked, biting my lower lip. Was there something wrong with me and that was why these men felt that I was their mate? I had never been with this many men in such short a time and it still felt like I was in a dream
"No, but don't let that worry you," Ryan said, sitting the beer bottle onto the table and reaching out to take my hand in his. "It just means that we won't have to worry about you if we have to be away." "Be away?" I asked, picking up my water and twisting the lid off before taking a drink.
"Yeah, Jason has pack stuff that takes him away from home from time to time. Same with Travis and I've got stuff with my band." Ryan said, stroking his thumb over the back of my knuckles.
The thought of not being with them gave me a sharp pang in my chest and I tried not to think about how I didn't like that thought. It was too soon, too fast, to be feeling like this about them. We had just met a few hours ago and already I couldn't imagine not being around them. I didn't know what I was supposed to say to that so I didn't say anything
"It's not that often, kitten," Jason said and I knew that he was trying to ease some of my worry.
Shaking my head, I sat the water down. Trying not to think about being without them, even if it was just for a few days. "Tell me about your band?"
"You saw us. We play a bit of rock music. Aaron plays up the crowd and Drew has that taciturn guitar player thing going on. I just play the drums." He shrugged
"Nah, you're more than just playing the drums," Jason said, letting out a laugh. "He writes most of their songs."
"Shh, you are telling her all my secrets. It'll ruin that air of mystery."
"That's so cool. The song writing thing." I blurted out, feeling a little star struck. "I mean, you playing drums is really, really cool too but I couldn't imagine writing songs."
"It's easy when he's inspired." Jason reached over and tugged a strand of my hair.
I shot him a glare that made his smile widen as I smoothed my hair out of his grasp. The three of us made light conversation, bantering easily with each other as we finished our meal.
It made me feel like this thing with us could be more than just in the bedroom. Like I could see myself wanting to spend time with them. Figuring out what they liked or what they wanted for the future. When we were finished eating, I hooked my finger into Ryan's plate, pulling it closer to stack it with mine.
"I've got the dishes. You two can put away the leftovers." Jason said, taking mine and Ryan's plates and stacking them onto his. He stood up, making his way over to the sink. I watched as he turned on the faucet, filling the sink up with hot water. He added in some dish soap and picked up a pink sponge.
I finished off my water before moving to stand. Taking the now empty beer bottles over to a trash can that sat off to the side of the fridge and dumped them in Ryan made quick work of closing up the takeout containers and I helped him take them to the fridge
* Wit comfortable working with them like this and it made me wish that Travis was here. I wanted to know if I would have the same Sedie Sorturi, ftungs would flow just as easily when the four of us were together
:
I hoped they would
Jason finished washing the dishes. He rinsed them, placing them all onto a drying rack that rested beside the sink. Ryan walked over to me, threading his fingers with mine.
His hand was warm and his touch made butterflies flare to life in the pit of my stomach. "Did Jason show you around yet?"
"Just the kitchen and the hallway. I met Mira and, well, she's a wolf." I said, still kind of in shock over the fact that shifters were real.
"So you believe us now?" Ryan asked, bringing his hand up so that he could trail his fingers over my fingers. Like he was marveling at the way my hand fell in his
"I mean, I guess I kind of have to now. Either that or you guys have an amazingly smart wolf-dog." I shivered at his touch.
"Oh, baby girl. I don't think you'll believe us until you see it for yourself, will you?"
