Chapter Crystalla of Fate

Roisin was stood alone in Rychard's temporary flat, checking through for any sign of him. She recalled the night she sliced through his arm, and recoiled from the shock.

She hadn't intended to go that far. No, that isn't true, she originally intended to go ever further, she wanted to make that bastard pay for everything he had done. But she didn't. She took his arm instead, and let him live on.

Was it a mistake? Maybe. Roisin sighed and shook her head, as she gazed around the room, but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Rychard hadn't been here too long before it all came to a head, so it wasn't surprising.

She thought back to her days at the Terrana Outpost, back when Pyre and Crystech seemed like allies of Ishtall, did they ever truly care about the city, or were they just grooming it, moulding it into their vassal state?

All those years, that Pyre and Wynd stood together as allies, did Pyre truly leave their conquering ways behind? Maybe the Imperium had the right idea to declare war, after all, Crystech were the reason the Empire were able to invade Ishtall, they weakened the city's defences and invited the Empire onto their door step.

Roisin scoffed. Did any of that truly matter now? Old Raryst and Aranei were now history, their thirst for power, in the end, left them dry and lifeless. While Ishtall stood tall. Roisin walked over to the window and sighed as she gazed over the city lights, as they twinkled in the artificial twilight.

"Roisin" A voice whispered in the wind.

"Huh?" Roisin gasped as she spun around, but no one was in sight. "Who is that? Show yourself!" She shouted as she summoned her Celestial Crossbows.

"Abyssia" The voice continued.

"Abyssia? Where are you?" Roisin asked as she lowered her crossbows.

"Treleva broke free, the Crystalla of Fate betrayed the Crystalla of Time, Dreams and Memory" Abyssia explained. "I must be brief, Roisin" She added.

"The what of Fate?" Roisin scratched her head.

"Crystalla, like what your Dex has become" Abyssia answered. "The Crystalla of Fate has broken down the barrier around Farenei, he is the one responsible for the encroaching darkness" Abyssia explained.

"So if we kill him, the darkness recedes?" Roisin asked.

"No, what has been set in motion cannot be undone, only by the power of the Crystalla may the world be saved. Please Roisin, awaken Dexter's power" Abyssia called out.

"How?" Roisin asked.

"It is much like awakening your Crystalla, a moment will present itself, and he will awaken" Abyssia replied. "One Crystalla's powers cannot be used on another, or a simple Crystal, like yourself, that is how you end the darkness" Abyssia revealed, before her voice faded.

Roisin sighed and fell backward onto the couch, and stared at the ceiling fan.

"I don't understand" She sighed deeply, with frustration. Suddenly she felt a sharp pain in her neck, and fell unconscious shortly after.

"Is it her?" A male voice asked from the shadows of the large apartment. A woman stepped forward, her face hidden by a plain white mask.

"It is indeed her, Roisin Luna, also known as the Lightbringer" The woman's voice said gleefully, before lifting her mask, to reveal Marin, the cult leader's face. The male stepped out from the shadows too.

"So you are saying, without her there will be no way that the sky will be saved?" The man asked.

"Why else would we be imprisoning her?" Marin grunted with anger.

"Right, sorry" The male bowed his head. Then walked over to Roisin, and took a tranquilliser dart from her neck, before picking her up.

"Take her to the HQ, do not be caught" Marin said sternly, the male nodded and carried Roisin out of the apartment. "Who was she talking to? Whose death would cause the darkness to recede?" She said as she rubbed her chin.

Marin stepped over to the window and looked at the fake stars that twinkled light down onto the city, and frowned.

"Return to us, Andre" She sighed.
