Salute To The General

Chapter 224 You Really Enjoy Digging Your Own Grave

Chapter 224 You Really Enjoy Digging Your Own Grave

Sylvie's taunts and the curious look from the crowd got to Penny and she was so embarrassed she

couldn't even raise her head.

She wanted so much to rip the necklace off her neck then hide in a hole where no one would find her.

But right then, Nathan, who was standing beside her, spoke up. "Huh,” he snorted coldly. "I've seen

dogs trying to pass themselves off as wolves. But this is the first time I've seen one as hubristic as Ms.

Larson."

Everyone was shocked and turned their eyes on Sylvie.

Panic flashed through her eyes, but she held her ground. "What are you saying? Do you know who I

am," she asked as she was agitated.

"I am the CEO of Hay Corp, the daughter of the Larson family. Why on earth would I be wearing an

imitation?"

She turned to sneer at Penny once again. "On the other hand, do you think a hussy like your wife

deserves to wear an exquisite necklace like 'Evermore'?"

Sylvie had just finished speaking when Nathan raised his hand and smacked her soundly across the

face.

Sylvie's face swelled up instantaneously and even her neatly styled hair became disheveled.

She held her throbbing face and shrieked in disbelief. "How dare you hit me?"

"Aren't you just asking for it with that disgusting mouth yours?”

Sylvie recovered from the shock and yelled angrily, "Bodyguards! Where are my bodyguards? Get him!

Finish him off!"

Sean and the rest of the Smiths quickly grabbed onto the bodyguards to stop them.

Sean tried to calm Sylvie down while also frantically demanding Nathan to apologize. "How dare you

raise your hand on her? Apologize to Ms. Larson right now and ask for her forgiveness."

Nathan crossed his arms in front of him and smirked. "Why should I apologize? If there's anyone who

should apologize, it would be her apologizing to my wife.”

"She's been going around spreading all kinds of rumors and bad-mouthing my wife. I've heard about it

for some time now."

"And now she dares to come here and show off while wearing that fake necklace? Penny is a kind-

hearted person, that's why she did not expose Sylvie. And yet, she goes on to insult my wife? Of

course, I'm going to hit her!"

Penny had been feeling quite self-conscious because of all of Sylvie's ridicules. But, after seeing how

Nathan was so protective over her, her eyes misted over in gratitude. Hence, she reached out and held

onto Nathan's hand tightly.

Penny made a decision. Even if her necklace was fake, even if the world mocked her for it, she would

no longer be ashamed. Because it was a gift from her husband and it was the best gift ever.

Sylvie's eyes burned with rage as she leered at Nathan. "You say my necklace is fake and hers is real.

What proof do you have?"

Nathan scoffed. "If I can prove that my wife's necklace is real and not yours, what would you do?"

Sylvie clenched her teeth. "If hers is real, I'll apologize to her. If hers is fake, I want you to get on your

knees and apologize to me. Are you game for that?"

Penny, Benson, and Leah all looked anxiously at Nathan and whispered. "Just let it go. Don't argue

with her. Don't take her seriously."

When Sylvie saw that Penny and the rest were trying to persuade Nathan to not accept her challenge,

she was even more convinced that the necklace around Penny's neck was fake. Then, she

chuckled, "What? You're chickening out because you know your necklace is fake?"

The corners of Nathan's lips twitched up into a smile. "Sylvie Larson. I've never met anyone who loves

digging their own graves as much as you."

"I agree to your terms. If my wife's necklace is fake, I'll get on my knees and apologize to you."

"On the contrary, if hers is real, then you'll apologize to her. I won't need you to kneel down before me.

Just go on the Channing TV channel and make a public announcement to apologize for all the slander

you've hurled my wife over the years. I'm sure that won't be a problem?"
