Salute To The General

Chapter 221 What Gift Have You Prepared

Chapter 221 What Gift Have You Prepared

Kylie Tonkins fired both the manager, Kennedy Chamberlain, and the salesperson, Leah Holden, but

she didn't touch any of the other employees.

She also promised that if everyone did their jobs well, they would get a ten percent increment the

following month.

The employees of Perpetual Love all broke out into cheers and applauded and welcomed their new

boss with open arms.

Kylie looked at Nathan Cross curiously. Even though Nathan allowed her to sign the contract, she was

the boss in name only or rather an acting boss.

After all, Nathan had spent five hundred million to purchase the jewelry store. Why would he just give it

away so easily?

But what she didn't know was, Nathan truly didn't care too much about the jewelry store.

Nathan instructed Colin and the rest to return, while he and Kylie retrieved the beautifully wrapped pink

diamond necklace, 'Evermore', then drove home in the old Polo.

On the way, Kylie couldn't help but ask Nathan, "Why do you have so much money when you're not

working?”

Nathan gave a small smile. "I said I wasn't working but I have never said that I didn't have money."

This took Kylie back by surprise, but she realized what Nathan said was indeed true. Being

unemployed and having money weren't two contradicting notions.

Kylie was curious. "As far as I know, Perpetual Love is the money maker for the Chamberlains and is

worth well over eight hundred million. How were you able to purchase the jewelry store from River

Chamberlain at only five hundred million and in under ten minutes no less?”

"Because I gave him an offer he couldn't refuse," answered Nathan.

Kylie rolled her eyes. Nathan's answers were often so ambiguous, they barely answered anything at

all.

But she also realized that Nathan had the tendency to hide his true capabilities.

He might seem like an unemployed bum, but in truth, he was like an iceberg waiting to be explored.

She was growing more and more suspicious of Nathan. She had a strong feeling that he was the man

who saved her at the Indigo Club the day before.

Unfortunately, Nathan refused to admit it.

She gazed at Nathan's side profile, and the more she looked at him, the more she found him attractive.

Why didn't I see this earlier?

When they reached Riverside Garden, Nathan instructed Kylie to not tell Penny about him buying over

the jewelry store.

And that the exorbitantly priced 'Evermore' was merely an imitation.

Kylie stared at him with her eyes wide

open. "Why?"

Nathan explained, "Your cousin and your aunt and uncle don't like it when I spend too much money. If

they found out the actual price of this necklace, they would be cross with me."

"You really are so kind and loving to Penny!" Kylie sighed.

Nathan chuckled. "She's my wife and she's suffered because of me. So I should give her the best."

When Nathan and Kylie entered the house, Queenie ran over to them excitedly. "Papa! Aunt Kylie!"

Nathan bent down to pick up his daughter. That's when Queenie saw the jewelry box on him and got

curious. "Papa, what is this? Did you buy me chocolate?"

Upon hearing Queenie's question, Penny, Benson, and Leah turned around and looked at Nathan.

Seeing that everyone had noticed the

jewelry box, Nathan decided there was no point in keeping it a secret. He smiled and took it out.

"Tomorrow is Mama's birthday. This is Papa's present for Mama."

This attracted the attention of Queenie, Benson, and Leah.

Even Penny was curious about the gift prepared by Nathan.
