Sacred Lands

Chapter I've Found My Ending

Faye woke up the next morning looking around the room through blurry eyes not before getting up, kissing Naois’ forehead and went to walk past her table when she noticed three new papers on it, confused. ′When did these get here?′

“They’re from your grandparents.” Faye whipped around to the windowsill to see Jun sitting there chewing on an insect’s head.

“I was expecting you to be back two days from now, but you’re here! And my Grandparent’s wrote back! This is fantastic, Jun you are incredible!” Faye excitedly exclaimed, and let out a shriek forgetting about Naois’ sensitive ears.

Naois bolted upward and looked around worried before his golden-yellow eyes widened when he saw Jun on the windowsill and the paper in Faye’s hands.

“That means... it worked and you get to stay with me?” Faye rapidly nodded her head at Naois’ question. Naois lifted himself off from the bed and lifted Faye up, kissing her on her lips.

“You’re going to be able to stay!” The three of them cheered and Faye had tears running down her face as Naois and her hugged tightly. ‘I got my ending!’ Faye thought.

Faye and her Grandparents continued to write back and forth with each other every day. Faye would occasionally send her grandparents her drawings of Naois so they could see what he looked like and who he was and why she couldn’t leave.

Faye survived Naois’ mating season and didn’t get pregnant (“At least not yet.” “Naois!’)

Faye and Naois spent their time together with Jun and her siblings.

Faye finally found out what the mysterious item Naois was playing with and had him so sidetracked that it had him distracted. It was a forehead crown with little white leaves on the side of a twig and a jewel on her forehead. Naois gave the simple explanation that he wanted to gift Faye something to commemorate the fact that they were mates. (“It was a proposal crown and Naois was too scared to admit it.” “Faye!” “Payback darling.“)

Naois eventually let Faye leave, (“Not before marking me all over and sending me off back into the world.” “Faye! That one was uncalled for!” “I don’t know what you’re talking about.“). The world went up in an uproar and Faye ended up staying away longer than anyone intended and Naois nearly stormed out of the barrier to get Faye back home.

Faye came back to the Sacred Lands after she told the world she had amnesia and couldn’t remember a thing (“Don’t mean to brag, but I’m a great actor.” “Shhh!” “Meanies.“) She slipped past the world once more and Faye was never seen or heard from again in the human world.

Then just a couple of months later her grandparents donated all their assets and money to museums all over the world and traveled to the same part of the world where Faye had disappeared and they too disappeared. Some say they took their life, some say they went mad looking for their granddaughter, and some say they changed their identity and live in the countryside in South East Asia.

A little boy with short black hair, tanned skin with a golden-yellow right eye and a dark russet left eye looked up at his mother with his too-big lime green shirt slipping off his shoulders.

“Yes, darling?” Faye said mumbled as the little five-year-old boy cupped and squished her face.

“Mama!” He said smiling and pulling her face down closer to his.

“Mommy needs to spend some time with Daddy, come on Amir.” A girl around the age of eight with shoulder-length straight dark colored hair, dark russet eyes, underneath her eyes was a bridge of Vitiligo freckles, from the left eye to the right and the top left side of her nose to the end of her nose.

"Raven's right Amir, we can tell you more stories from your grandmother's book." Amir clapped as Faye handed her son to her grandparents.

"Stories from grandmama's book and great-grandpa is reading it! Best day ever!" Raven excitedly cheered as Amir giggled and clapped as the four of them walked toward the palace with Jun and her siblings flying above the group.

"Ahh, how Faye fooled the world she was dead, resurrected, and died again. Then returned to her mate in the Sacred Lands she read about as a child and found her happily ever after. I always love hearing that story." Naois said creeping closer and closer to Faye.

"I love it too. I love exposing you about the proposal crown."

"I've said I was sorry already. Plus you liked it anyway."

"I liked it because you made it for me, but you couldn't tell me what it was really for," Faye said side-eyeing Naois and he only rolled his golden-yellow eyes.

Naois smiled and lifted Faye up to the sky, "Wait Naois don't spin me around too much." Naois slowed down and placed her back down.

"Are you ok? What's wrong?" Naois said immediately worried.

"Nothing! Well, at least not for another nine months." Faye said with a sly smile looking at Naois.

"Again? Are you serious?" Naois asked with his tail rattling behind him in excitement.

"Yes, I'm so serious Naois, we're on number three!" Naois pulled Faye closer to his body and kissed her deeply and then her stomach from above her off-shoulder sleeve gray dress.

"Faye you have no idea how much I truly love you and everything that you've done since coming into my life. Thank you for loving me, protecting this land and its secrets. Thank you Faye for giving me two now three beautiful children and giving me the opportunity to love them as well. Thank you, Faye." Naois said from the position he was in.

"Naois, you've brought some new light into my life and helped me experience new joys. Thank you and I love you too."

They lived together, Faye got to experience her happy ending with Naois and their children and grandparents. She created her own ending. The end!
