Richest man’s

Chapter Richest man’s 18

Chapter 18

To avoid getting pulled into the ensuing storm and to focus on my studies, I packed a few clothes and moved into my foster parents‘ house.

Before leaving, I gave my mom a bag containing photographs of my dad’s mistress and her family as well as evidence of my dad misappropriating company funds.

It was said that the James Group went into chaos.

My mom had loved Lucy as her own daughter for nearly eighteen years. Even after her biological daughter came back, she still

favored Lucy.

She even kicked her biological daughter out of the house because of Lucy. What a joke.

The James Group was almost fully under my father’s control.

After over three months of infighting, my mom managed to retain control of the Group, successfully kicking my dad out. Although she divorced him, she paid a heavy price.

During this period, I studied hard at my foster parents‘ house, even gaining some weight. My performance in the college entrance exam was also quite good.

After the results came out, my score was 50 points above the cut–off for top universities, and they all vied for me.

I chose a university in the capital.

Everything was finally settled.

When I saw my mom again, she looked much older and wearier

than three months ago.

My foster parents quietly exited, leaving the space to us.

Kay, I’m sorry, I… I’m sorry for what I’ve done…

I dodged her hand trying to grasp mine, calmly said, Mom, do you remember the third question I asked you when you came to pick me up What did you promise me then

She was taken aback.

Back then, I asked her if she would stand by me if a conflict. occurred between me and her daughter.

She said she would. She stated that I was h biological daughter.

But from the moment I returned to the Stone family, to our estrangement, to that slap that never landed, to our final falling out, she never took my side.

Mom, one’s heart doesn‘ t get cold in an instant.”

See My choice was right. Even maternal love is unreliable. Only knowledge in my mind can be relied upon.

She left in a daze.

She sold a significant portion of the company’s shares and transferred a large sum of money to me.

Perhaps, she thought that she could hold me in check by not providing for me in the past. Now, by giving me a substantial amount of money, she would earn my forgiveness.

I didn’t refuse it, but I didn’t thank her either.

When she grows old and needs care, I will provide for her.

I have already turned 18.

I used some of the ten million dollars I received initially to set my foster parents up with a small business.

I also bought them two small houses. One for them to live in and the other to rent out. This will guarantee my younger brother’s

tuition fees and living expenses, and it can also serve as his marriage house in the future.

They accepted the houses and moved in, but always insisted that the houses remain under my name.

I also kept an apartment, but rented it out because it’s lonely living alone. I’m very happy to be a happy freeloader at my foster parents‘ house.

After leaving enough money for my university tuition, I donated the remaining money to build schools in the mountains.

During the summer vacation, I went back to the mountain where I grew up with my younger brother. The school I donated for building was completed.

I was surprised to find out that the school was named after me.
