Chapter Return 8

Another Lady

“Really?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

“But wait, why did I fall in love with someone like that?” I questioned Lisa, still confused.

Lisa chuckled. “Well, like you always say, you were in love, and love is blind literally, you were blind, or perhaps you chose to be blind even when everyone advised you otherwise,”

I recall all what had happened, since I met Colin again at my discharge party and I shook my head,

“I must have been insane,” I whispered to myself,

“Look,” Lisa stated urgently, her finger pointing towards the television screen.

Immediately, my eyes snapped up to the TV where IMG models were advertising their upcoming modeling audition, the screen filled with images of runway shows and stunning photoshoots.

“Will you be going?” Lisa asked curiosity.

“I definitely would,” I declared aloud, excitement bubbling up inside me. In a rush I reached for a nearby stack of paper, as I jot down all the things I needed to prepare for the audition

“It’s actually tomorrow!” Lisa spoke out again, breaking the news. I glanced at the date on the TV.

“OMG, it’s really tomorrow, for real!” I exclaimed.

“How will you get all those things together before tomorrow?” Lisa questioned.

“I will need to, although I’m kind of weak right now, but then this might be the opportunity I have been waiting for. I can heal fully after the audition, you know,” I stated.

“But then my details, I haven’t sent any. It’s like the advertisement has been out for weeks, and I haven’t sent any of my requirements,” I admitted, as I felt so unprepared for such an important opportunity.

“You can take it all there tomorrow,”

“Well, that’s true,” Immediately I began to plan and organize, knowing that this audition could be the turning point I had been waiting for.

Throughout the night, I gathered all the items I needed for the audition, as I checked and double–checked each detail. Despite the late hour.

In between organizing my essentials, I paced back and forth in my room, rehearsing my modeling steps with each walk. The familiar rhythm of the catwalk returned to me gradually, dispelling the stiffness that had settled in from my prolonged period of inactivity in the hospital. With each lap, my confidence grew.

As I completed my final lap, I smiled, “Can’t wait for tomorrow,” I whispered to myself.

In the early morning, I rushed out of the house, armed with my carefully prepared details and essential items for the audition. I hurried past Lisa’s still–sleeping form, paused briefly to leave a note on the kitchen counter: “I’ll be making my dream a reality today. Have a nice day.” With a quick glance back, I dashed out the door.

Arriving at the touch–up salon, I saw Mrs. Smith.

“Hi, Mrs. Smith,” I greeted her.

+15 BONUS

“Oh, Selena, It’s been a while,” Mrs. Smith remarked.

“Yes, it has,” I replied as I settled into the salon chair,

“Going for another audition?” Mrs, Smith asked.

“Yes, I want my touch–up a little different from before” I explained.

“Sure, I get that!” Mrs. Smith replied and began her work.

“I need to make a good first impression this time,” I ackled, recalling all the mess up I had done in the past.

After the touch–up was complete, I made my way to the bustling audition hall, where I saw hopeful faces just like mine. I sought out the registration desk to collect number before finding a seat in the waiting area. Glancing around, I couldn’t help but notice the sea of aspiring models.

I settled into my seat, I looked up and observed the queue stretching out in front of me, a reminder of the fierce

competition.

“Isn’t that Selena!” I heard my name behind me as I turned to see who it might be. But shockingly I saw a guy

instead.

“It’s her! Hey, Selena,” the guy greeted me warmly.

“You are Selena, Colin’s fiancée, right?” he asked, his eyes searching my face for confirmation.

“I’m Selena,” I replied, curious as I tried to recall where I knew him from.

“I never thought I would see you here. I was worried you never came back for the gifts you bought for your fiance,

“he mentioned.

“Oh,” I responded, although i couldn’t recall any of that.

“Your fiance came with another lady to pick it up that day” he replied.

My fiance?” I asked?

“Yeah, I called her Selena and she said she wasn’t you!” He added. so there is someone else!‘ I thought.

“Anyways, I no longer work there; I am now one of the modeling directors!” he revealed.

“A modeling director?” I asked as my Interest quickly shifted.

“Yes,” he confirmed with a nod.

“Can I ask for a favor?” I inquired immediately.

“Sure,” he replied.

“I only saw the audition news last night, and I haven’t submitted my details. Will that be a problem?” I questioned.

“Well, Just hand over the details to me. I’ll make sure it doesn’t,” he replied extending a hand for my details. I handed them to him.

“Thank you so much,“

Colin POV

“Selena!, Selena, get me some water,” I muttered groggily as I slowly opened my eyes, scanning the room in search of my usual companion Selena. To my dismay found myself alone, Selena’s presence absent. Confused and frustrated I struggled to piece together the events of the previous night.

“Oh!” I place a hand on my forehead.

Recalling the encounter with Bella at the mall, I dialed her number “Hello, Bella,” I greeted her.

“Hi,” she replied on the other end of the line

“Can I get Lisa’s address? I forgot her new location,” requested, i recall Selena telling me Lisa relocated to a

new location once.

“Yeah, sure, I’ll send it to you now,” Bella replied.

Within minutes the address flashed on my phone screen, and without hesitation, I dashed out of the house, Racing against time, I made my way to Lisa’s new location.

Upon reaching the address, I wasted no time in ringing the doorbell. The door swung open, revealing Lisa on the other side. Before she could react, I pushed past her.

“Where is Selena?” I demanded.

“She isn’t here,” Lisa replied.

“Are you hiding her inside?” I pressed, I scanned the apartment for any sign of Selena. Opening each door to check if she’s inside.

I searched fruitlessly and couldn’t find her. “Where is she?” I implored.

“She isn’t here,” Lisa repeated.

“I know she has been acting strange because of your influence on her!” I said pointing at Lisa angrily

“Well, I think you are mistaken. It’s all your fault Selena lost her memories, you bastard!” Lisa retorted.

“What?”
