Chapter Return 10

Dark Trauma.

Selena POV

With the last strength in me, I pushed Colin away as soon as I opened the door and hurriedly bolted the dressing room door. Gasping for breath, I staggered over to the couch and lay on it, holding my aching belly. “It hurts,” I managed to whisper through clenched teeth, the memory of losing the baby and the pains I felt after still fresh in my mind.

I could hear Colin’s voice from the other side of the door. “Open this door, Selenal You can’t hide from me forever,”

Ignoring his threats, I focused on my breathing, controlling the pain. Each breath felt like a small victory.

I felt exhausted, I whispered to myself, “I will survive this. I must.” I lay there, trying to steady my breathing and ease the pain, but then my eyelids grew heavy, and my vision began to blur.

I gradually opened my eyes to see everywhere dark. “Oh my gosh!” I exclaimed as I searched for my phone in darkness. I found it, switching it on and I realized that my battery was down to a mere 3 percent. “Why now!” I

muttered.

Grabbing my bag, I used the dim glow of my phone’s flashlight to see. With cautious steps, I pushed open door and walked out into the hall.

Making my way to the Audition hall, I reached for the door handle and attempted to turn it, only to find it locked. I panicked and quickly glanced at my phone to check the time–11 p.m. how did I lose consciousness for so long? Who should I call for help?

“Lisa,” I whispered and reached for my phone to call her.

I dialed her number and pressed the call button, but then it suddenly went dark signaling power off. Everywhere Silence now, all I could hear was the noise of insects and rodents. I heard a window shake and fear gripped my

heart.

“Oh my goodness,” I half screamed as I saw shadows. Trembling with fear, I pounded on the door with all my might. “Somebody help!” I cried out.

Pounding on the door, I screamed for help for minutes, but I got no response. I sank to the cold, hard ground, recalling the haunting memory I had of being locked in a dark basement during my childhood.

My mind flashed back to the dark, dusty basement where i had been locked as a child. The memories came flooding back, the musty smell, the sounds of her own panicked breathing, and the heavy, locked door that separated me from the outside world. I felt trapped, helpless, and terrified all over again. My trauma resurfacing, and I couldn’t escape it.

“The window!” I exclaimed, my heart pounding as I dashed towards it. But it was too high.

“Help!!” I screamed, “Help!” I cried out once more, losing Hope a noise caught my attention from the far end of the hall. I turned, and I saw someone having the same physique like Colin approaching with a light, a set of keys. glinting in his hand.

I watched him walk closer, confirming it was him. I ran to him.

“Colin!” I called out as I ran to him, Without hesitation, I threw myself into his arms. I felt so happy and clung to

him

“Let’s leave this place,” Colin said, his hand reaching but to mine as he guided me towards the exit. Stepping out- into the cool night air, I felt so free again…

Taking a deep breath, I withdrew my hand from his hold, my eyes scanning the surroundings as I tried to regain my composure. “Thanks for the help,” I murmured awkwardly, as 1 stole a glance at Colin, unsure of how to proceed.

“I’ll leave now,” I suddenly announced, And turned to walk away. Are you

you just going to leave like that after I saved you?” Colin’s question perhaps hurt at my sudden departure. I hesitated, torn between the instinct to flee and the lingering feelings of obligation.

“Thanks for the help, I’ll get a taxi,” I replied and made my way to the main road. The thought of staying alone Telt safer than staying by Colin’s side. I stood there waiting for a taxi. I know it was dark and dangerous but going with Colin was more dangerous, I haven’t gotten my memories back so I need to be careful not to get deceived.

Minutes ticked by as I stood by the deserted main road, the thought of seeing a taxi was slim. Just as I felt resigned about getting a taxi, Colin’s car rolled into view, coming to a smooth halt in front of me. “Get in, let’s leave this place,” he offered.

I hesitated, The way Colin dragged me that night flashed through my mind, and I shook my head. “Going with you might lead me dragged to your house again. I don’t want that. I’ll wait for a taxi,” I replied.

“Hey, get a grip of yourself, Selena. It‘ sides

midnight already,” Colin said, glancing around the darkness from all

Before I could protest further, I heard a loud sound as if something was coming. Fear gripped me and made me make a split–second decision. “Just this once,” I stated hurriedly, as I entered the car and Colin zoomed off..

The car got stopped by a storm that attacked us without warning. “Ahhh!” I screamed in terror as the car began to tremble violently, the howling winds drowning out all other sound around the car. My head sparked as a short went through my head in a flash and my head spun, recalling a harrowing moment when I was trembling in a car with blood oozing out from my head.
