Chapter Mates 92
Chapter 92
FREDA WHITLOCK
We arrived home after dinner at the restaurant where Kaiden unexpectedly showed up with Harper. That man certainly had a bad timing for things.
I glanced at Lyra as we all walked into the house. She was still acting strange but I wasn't even bothered. If she couldn't tell me what was eating her up, I shouldn't care either.
All she was just conveying to me was that she didn't trust me and that hurt me. I brushed all thoughts of Lyra aside as my mind replayed the dinner at the restaurant. I noticed how Kaiden was looking at me when he thought I wasn't looking.
To be honest, I only listened half heartedly to all the
conversations Cole was trying to engage me in. My wolf wasn't helping either.
All through the dinner, she was just purring in delight at the sight of having her mate so near and it took every ounce of self control not to scream in frustration. She was really being unbelievable these days. Either way, I wasn't going to act on impulse or let myself be deceived by Kaiden again. Gone was the trusting Freda, right here was a strong, independent woman who wasn't going to bow down to any man. Who knows, maybe all this was all part of Kaiden's plan, if not

for the fact that he brought Harper along, I would have accused him of stalking me because he was always showing up
wherever I was.
Especially since Cole and the others showed up. He must be up to something and if he thought he could convince me to drop the idea of Safiya apologizing to me, then he was so wrong.
Safiya had hurt me badly and I wasn't going to consider the fact that we're related because she clearly didn't think of that before she ordered me to kneel down in front of the whole pack! In the presence of Kaiden who watched and did nothing. A**hole!
"Wow, that was the best dinner I've ever had", Gina gushed out excitedly and I had almost forgotten they had followed us. Thanks to Kaiden distracting me the whole time.
"Freda, I think we would visit you often, I'm falling in love with this place, it's so beautiful and serene here, I wonder why it hasn't become a popular tourist attraction". Elle said as she plopped down on the couch and patted her belly as she sighed in contentment.
"Yeah, it's quite hidden most people usually pass this place by without knowing that people live here," I stated as I laughed. nervously. I just hoped Elle and Gina didn't post pictures of this place to attract more humans here because that would get me in trouble with the council.
"Freda, thank you for taking us out for dinner, we had a great time". Cole said with a grin and I couldn't help but smile.
"It's okay, I loved showing you guys around and it's good to eat out sometimes" I stated and everyone nodded in agreement.

"Okay, we are going to retire for the night. Good night Freda" Gina stated as she dragged a sleepy Elle to their room and I laughed at their actions.
"Good night, Freda" Cole said as he gazed deeply into my eyes. didn't know why but Cole had been looking at me a lot these days. I shook my head and smiled at him. "Gord night" He left the room too. I looked around the living room, Lyra had somehow disappeared from the room and I wasn't surprised. I was getting used to her new behaviour.
"Come on Cisco, let's get you ready for bed" I stated as I
grabbed Cisco and headed for the bathroom. Halfway through his bath, Cisco started to speak, again with the soap lather all over his adorable body.
"Mummy, can I ask you a question?" Cisco asked as I applied shampoo on his hair. "Yes, go ahead honey" I replied absentmindedly as I was quite focused on what I was doing.
"Are you going to forgive Harper's mom?" He asked and I stiffened. 'Safiya? Forgive Safiya Why did Cisco have to bring that up now.
Then I remembered how Harper had promised him earlier at the restaurant that Safiya would apologize. But if I knew Safiya well, she would do anything but apologize.
Safiya had done a lot of things to hurt me. Ever since I came back she had been looking for every possible way to taunt and shame me. Forgiveness couldn't come easily. Especially when she wasn't willing to repent for her actions.

"Mummy, did you hear what I asked?", Cisco stated as he peered up at me drawing me from my thoughts. "Oh, sorry sweetheart, I was engrossed in my thoughts".
"As for your question, I will forgive Harper's mom if she apologizes for her wrongdoings". I replied. "Okay mummy". Cisco replied and didn't ask more questions which I was grateful for.
Soon we were done and I tucked Cisco gently in his bed. After singing him his favorite lullaby and I was sure he had fallen asleep, I kissed his forehead and walked out, closing the door with a soft click.
I showered quickly and headed to my room where I picked my phone from the nightstand to check for any messages. I sat down on the bed and I scrolled through my phone.
I had a missed call from an unknown number. Curious, I dialed the number. "Hello, you called this number?" I stated when the like got connected.
"Yes, it's me" the person on the other side replied and I froze. I knew that voice, it was Kaiden. I was about to hang up when he stopped me.
"Wait Freda, I know you want to hang up but please hear what I have to say". He pleaded. "I don't want to hear what you have to say Kaiden. I don't want to hear anymore of your lies". I spat harshly.
"I know, I have done terrible things and I don't deserve your forgiveness but at least give me a chance to right my wrongs".
"And how do you plan to do that? How can you correct the

havoc that you've caused?. What's the right thing you think you can do Kaiden? Please enlighten me". I scoffed.
"Safiya is going to apologize to you at the pack council,
tommorow morning" he stated and I froze.
'Safiya was going to do what?"!
