Rejected? Deuces! A Gay Werewolf Novella

Chapter Chapter Seven (Carson)

DREAM SEQUENCE

“Carson?”

I snapped open my eyes to see the blinding-yet-eternal glory of the Moon Goddess as she smiled down at me. “Moon Goddess,” I said, bowing slowly. “I know that you said to call you ‘Mom,’ but I can’t help it. I still see you as the heavenly royal beauty that I need to show respect.”

“That’s all and well, but I am the Mother of all Supernatural Beings, including you,” she replied as she made her way to me, her dazzling aura helping my rattled nerves calm slightly as I still lie in wait in the void. “And right now, I want to talk about your true destiny.”

“What about it?” I said. “I mean, I know that I was destined to have EIGHT second-chance mates and that I was born into royalty. Two dads are one thing- I mean, don’t get me wrong. Having two dads? Cool beans. But having eight second-chance mates?! I mean, I’m still trying to process it all.”

The Moon Goddess- I mean, Mom- chuckled her laughter as shimmering as wind chimes blowing in the summer breeze. “I know, but it’s all a part of my plan to show you that you are born with a true purpose,” she replied. “Now, you will have another werewolf- not a douchebag, thankfully; but you’ll also have a merman, a werecat, a vampire, an angel, a demon, a hell-hound, and even a dragon shifter. And they’re ready and waiting for you to wake up and claim you as theirs.”

“Can I see one of them?” I asked.

She nodded, pointing to the far right of the void for a vision from the land of the living: there I was in the hospital, all banged up and bandaged up like a statuesque red-haired young man with eyes the color of the sea was waiting for me. I could easily tell that he was from the mermaid/merman community as he was holding a golden trident by his side with a bouquet of red roses in his right hand. “My love,” he said. “It’s a crime for someone to reject such beauty as yourself. If anything, Regan was a bastard and a fool to reject you. I know why you performed the Conversion to spare you the heartbreak, but I would give anything for you to wake up so my fellow husbands and I can make you mine.”

I watched him place the roses on my chest before kissing me on the cheek. “Until you wake up, my love, just know that you are loved by all and I will do anything to make you happy. And if you pass away, I will soon join you. May the Goddess- our Mother- bless you immensely. And may she have mercy on the fool who caused you lots of heartbreak...”

I was silently sobbing, at loss for words as I knew I had made a huge mistake. “Mom,” I sobbed.

Mom came to me, placing my head on her bosom. “I know,” she said. “But it was part of my plan. I allowed you to perform the Soul Conversion so you can give happiness to the young witch and her daughters- however brief they had to live. I am so proud of you, my son.”

“So, what now?” I asked, wiping my tears.

“Well, your TRUE destiny does include you taking what is yours- the legacy of the werewolf community and being given spirits of the mermen, the werecat, the hellhound, the vampire, the dragon, the angel, the demon, and the dragon alongside your wolf. But more importantly, I also created you to be something more powerful that can change the game completely: a phoenix,” Mom said with pride.

“No way,” I breathed. “Me? a Phoenix?”

“Yes, my child. I originally gave you to the wolf king to be a phoenix, but things changed drastically and- well, here we are,” she said. “But I still have my plan set in motion. And it does include something unfortunate.”

I knew there had to be a catch. “What is it?”

She gave me a sad look. “Your intended mate Regan is dead set on wanting you to die,” she intoned. “And unfortunately, he will succeed and plan to sacrifice you to cleanse the world of all Omegas.”

Oh, no. “But aren’t Omegas supposed to be treated as treasures?”

“Yes, but Regan is ignorant and wanting the omegas to be used as breeding stock, slaves, whipping posts, or even sacrifices while Alphas and Betas have control of the world,” she said sadly. “But he will soon meet his fateful end and his punishment will be by my hand.”

“So I’m doomed to die,” I said sadly.

“But only for a short while,” Mom replied. “The night he will kill you is when you will be reborn and my plan for your true destiny will come to pass. All you need to do is to rest here and trust in my plan. Most importantly, trust yourself. Can you do that?”

I nodded, already feeling at ease by her love. “I do,” I replied.

“Good,” she replied, planting a kiss on my head. “Now, you must rest here in this void. Just know that you are loved by all and that you will have all that you had lost. Trust in my plan, my child. Trust yourself.”

I nodded as I felt my eyes closed. And as I watched her fade away, I felt only a sense of peace that I never thought I had in my life. And though I still had my doubts, I knew that it was all a part of the Moon Goddess’ plan. And I knew that despite everything, all will be made clear.

All I can do is have hope. That’s all it matters. Hope for a better future and so much more.
