Chapter 99
[Alice]
“Mother! Mother! It's time to wake up!” Ezzekiel's voice echoed in my ear.
"5 more minutes please...” I mumbled sleepily. Tiny hands grabbed my arms forcefully. I took a small peek and saw Azel. Ah, so cute...
“Mother, you need to wake up! It's your wedding day!” they yelled while trying to pull me up. Wedding day? Hm?
Wha-What?
Holy moly!
“Ahh, it's my wedding!” I jolted up quickly with eyes widened in realization, and I heard gigglings.
I saw my five little darlings looking at me with a coy smile. My heart squeezed like jelly at their cuteness. I couldn't help pinching their cheeks.
"Aww, good morning, my adorable little darlings,”
“Good morning too, mother. But you need to hurry now,” they both said, and I chuckled.
“But where's my good morning kiss?” I pouted while pointing at my cheek.
They giggled and showered my cheeks with wet kisses one by one. I couldn't resist their cuteness early in the morning, so I tickled them all and they burst out laughing. Laughter filled the room. "Hahaha, mother, enough!” Alexia whined, while trying to suppress her laughter. So cute!
"Okay, okay,”
“Mother, hurry! Go, take a shower!” Yzzabelle and Ariya both held my hands and dragged me down the bed to the bathroom.
"Haha, okay, my little darlings...”
When the bathroom door closes, I quickly undress my nightgown and slide into the bubble-filled bathtub. I couldn't stop myself from smiling. I can't believe that I'm getting married today.
For some reason, all my memories together with Azrael flashed before my eyes. However, all unwanted feelings resurfaced again, but they fade away the moment I think about the happy moments with him. Excitement and joy overwhelmed my heart and unexplained butterflies in my stomach, but also a fair share of nervousness, anxiety, and fear, although those feelings are not as strong as my eternal love.
“Ah, why do my emotions turn into turmoil again? I guess every bride feels this way during the wedding day...” I murmured.
As I entered the make-up room, my sisters were already seated in their seats, looking nervous as hell while talking. We greeted each other with hugs and kisses.
“Nervous?” I said and sat on my chair beside Willow.
"I feel like vomiting,” Val uttered.
“Ew,” Damona faked a gag, and we all laughed.
"I can't believe we're getting married!” Xandra said dreamily.
"Ah, goodbye to my single life!” Val also said dramatically.
“You are not single, to begin with, duh.” Damona rolled her eyes and Val pouted her lips.
"Hmph, killjoy!” Val snorted, and we all giggled
“Haha, silly.”
“Alice, it's time to go,” Willow called.
“Let's go?” Layla and I smiled at each other and walked together towards my five gorgeous sisters. When my sisters saw the tiara on my head, they smiled and complimented me again. Then the maidservants handed our flower bouquet, and we all stepped out of the room together.
And now, I was inside my wedding white chariot with a wide smile on my lips.
[Azrael]
Have you ever felt so nervous? Like your whole body trembles on its own? And unwanted thoughts were running wild in your mind like a plague? There are more what-ifs and those uneasy thoughts which are unavoidable. Is this really what others feel when they are going to get married?
I have been waiting for this day to come. Why am I nervous now?
I take a long breath and exhale sharply to ease my nerves. Right now, I'm already at the wedding venue (at The Great Sextuplet Temple) together with Echo, Zelix, Helix, Drelix, and Cybelle in her white, elegant feminine suit. We are waiting at the altar for our woman.
“I'm so damn nervous,” Echo uttered.
“You're not alone,” I said.
“Definitely!” Helix said.
“But I think we came here early,” Drelix said, clasping his hands together while rubbing it. He's nervous as well.
“It's normal to get nervous. We are all waiting for this day and finally... this is it,” Cybelle said with a smile. She doesn't look nervous at all.
I keep looking at the entrance. As I roamed my eyes to the guests, some people I knew were smiling at me. I saw Liza smile at me, but her smile didn't reach her eyes. All these years, she remains single and I think she still has feelings for me. I felt sorry for her because I can't reciprocate her feelings the way she wants. But I heard she was looking for her mate. Unfortunately, it's been five years, yet she still hasn't found her mate. I pity her. I hope she will find her mate soon.
King Stephen, Vorges, and Cyn walk towards me.
“Nervous?” King Stephen asked.
"Can't help it,”
“I know the feeling, bro. Eventually, it will fade away once you see her later.”
"You know you're very lucky. If I were Alice, I wouldn't accept you back then and marry later.” Vorges said sarcastically and playfully.
“Jerk. I'll tell Sabrina to divorce you.” I said and was about to walk towards Sabrina, who was talking to Michelle and Ashley.
“Hey, hey, I was just pulling your leg!”
“Pulling your leg my foot! You are still annoying as ever,”
"Haha, enough teasing each other. The brides will come soon.” Cyn butt in
“Hey, I was just trying to ease his nerves,” Vorges said.
“You're making it worse,” King Stephen said and tapped Vorges shoulders. They greeted the other grooms and afterward excused themselves and went back to their seats.
Suddenly, a song played. A piece of gentle music filled my ears. It makes me reminisce about all the memories together with Alice, the sad and painful memories, and most of all, the happy ones.
“Il hold you in my arms and never let you go,
Because I promise a lifetime with you..."
My Alice, I'll never let you go again, not this time. I promise to face all the troubles with you.
“They are coming,” Cybelle said with excitement. Like me, she’s also nervous. Well, all six of us were nervous, at the same time, so excited to see our wife-to-be in a wedding dress. But I wonder why Cybelle wears a suit.
“By the way, Cybelle, why did you choose a suit?” Echo beats me to it.
“Well, how do I put this? Hmm, you know, I grew up as a princess and I always wear dresses and girly things. When Xandra and I got together, she always wore pants or shorts, and I rarely saw her wearing a dress for once. So I convinced her to wear a dress on our wedding day instead and I've got to wear a suit which she approves of reluctantly after arguing with her for hours. We basically swap style for a change.” Cybelle said and chuckled.
“Woah, a princess that wore a suit on her wedding day?” Helix chuckled lightly.
“It's actually cool,” I said.
“I know, right,” Cybelle winks.
We all laughed. Surprisingly, it relieves our nervousness.
“The wedding chariot has arrived. Please be prepared and we will start the ceremony soon.” Someone announces, and I bite my inner cheeks to calm myself. I wonder what Alice looks like in her wedding dress. Damn, my heart was pounding in my chest like a drum.
Suddenly, a vast light dazzled everyone and the sound of a trumpet echoed loudly. I gasped as I recognized the unique sound.
It's the holy golden trumpet!
Woah, they came to our wedding?
This is...
I can't believe it.
The light subsided a little and as I looked up; It mesmerized me to see many angels holding a holy golden trumpet while riding a pegasus and they remained floating in the air. Suddenly, something opened from the sky, and twelve gods and goddesses (Councils of the Gods) riding a pegasus came out together and slowly landed on the ground. We all bowed our heads to show our respect to the gods. Someone assisted them and they marched towards their seats, which I think was only reserved for them. They may look intimidating. However, they look exhausted, like they lack sleep and are in a rush to get here. What happened to them?
A song played again and this time, the angels blew their holy golden trumpet and miraculously harmonized with the song, sending sparkles through the entire venue. The gentle sound of the flutes also sounded beautiful. Not only that, but some angels also sang a perfect song that pierced through our souls. It's like the song has a life on its own. The entire venue became more magical. And then the wedding ceremony began. When the song changes, many petals of flowers dance with the flow of wind beautifully like one of the music. Then adorable flower girls and ring bearers marched in the wide aisle dazzlingly. I smiled as I saw my little boys and my little girls marching with grace and elegance. How adorable. My twins actually stand out the most and they gained all the compliments. And then the six best men and six maids of honor are walking down the aisle with smiles on their faces. Falling behind them are the bridesmaids and groomsmen. They all looked pretty.
The music changed and the big entrance door dramatically opened slowly. My heart beat faster and faster. The suspense is too much, making my insides do somersaults.
Suddenly, six high-ranking spirits of divine beasts were flying around the venue. They are the black and white dragon, red phoenix, rainbow peacock, golden-eyed fox, white unicorn, and purple-eyed divine wolf. They release magic as they pass by us. I think they gave us their blessings.
And right on cue, all eyes were on the wide entrance when six beautiful goddesses stepped in together. Everyone stood up and gasped, with jaws dropped in awe. Their entrance together is spellbinding and jaw-dropping. And I only fixed my gaze on the most beautiful bride I have ever seen in my entire life. I'm completely at a loss for words about how stunning my wife-to-be is.
Her smile is so captivating that it sends butterflies to my stomach. I watched as she slowly walked down the aisle while maintaining eye contact with mine and all smiles, which I returned with the same passion. I can't explain how happy I am. And I couldn't ask for more than being with her for the rest of my life.
As my gaze all focused on her, her beauty dazzled me like I am in paradise. She wore a subtly sheer long sleeve (see-through fabric) and A-line exquisite wedding gown with embroidery on her bodice, which was skillfully adorned with glistening rhinestones and white crystal diamonds that changes color to aqua blue when she moves slightly. A two-tier veil hangs behind her back with a matching magnificent crystal tiara (or headpiece) that also helps stand out her beauty. Her long silvery blue hair miraculously swayed perfectly together with her long veil. It's like her hair has a life on its own, but obediently follows wherever she walks. Her eye-catching bouquet of white and blue magical flowers also glistened with elegance, which added to her magnetic aura. Also, the accessories in her hair and dress match perfectly. She's so breathtaking and jaw-dropping. Her beauty enchanted me even more.
While waiting at the altar, I couldn't help but cry in happiness. With every move she makes, she releases magic that makes the venue more vibrant. I couldn't tear my gaze away. It's like we are the only two people in the world. All my focus was on her and nothing else. She's the only one I see in this vast place full of people. She's literally glowing in my eyes in slow motion.
In a blink of an eye, she halted in front of me with eyes glistened with tears and a beautiful smile which mirrored mine. I took her right hand and kissed it gently and tenderly with all the love in the world. At the same time, I only notice the invisible red strings of fate tangled on my wrist like a bracelet and also tied on my index finger, which also connects to Alice's wrist and index finger as well. We looked at each other with a knowing smile.
Our encounter may begin with rejecting each other, but it doesn't mean our encounter ends there. Somehow, I felt at ease seeing the red strings of fate because no matter how many times we reject each other again in our next life, our ties will never break apart. Because our love conquers everything and destiny will always find its way to bring us together.
