Chapter 49
Third Person POV
Thick snow is now covering the entire five mountains and Tibbertan Mountain. Despite the continuous pouring of the snow, all the warriors continued walking, but their journey got slower. The four Kings separately took their journey together with their people while discussing their plan. Even if they were allies, in the depths of their heart they are still enemies. It will never change because of their greed and hunger for power. And that's a sad reality.
The group of battalions is now on the third mountain while the beasts are eagerly waiting in the fifth mountain. But some of them are getting impatient little by little. That's why few of the beasts were roaming around the fourth and fifth mountain to hunt some animals to eat. Unbeknownst to the beasts, the warriors of Moonlight Kingdom are secretly watching them and looking for the perfect timing to attack. They even made some traps and secret passages. Moonlight Warriors are getting confident for the war, Tibbertan Mountain is their territory, and they were very familiar with the entire mountain like the back of their hands.
Cybelle brought some warriors with her and took the secret route going to the fourth mountain. They know their enemies are still on the third mountain, so they have to make traps as soon as possible. Their efforts shouldn't become a waste. They encountered some beasts, but it was nothing major. They could easily kill those weak beasts. The warriors that Cybelle brought are all good at fighting. Using their intellectual talent, they could easily make dangerous traps for their enemies. Their tactics will lessen their enemy's number when they reach Tibbertan Mountain, and they wouldn't outnumber anymore.
With war, Cybelle sets aside her emotional feelings and focuses on the war. She could not let her emotions control her and thus made a bad decision in life that she will regret later. She should not dwell in the past, and what's important is the present and the future. And what's left for her is to accept the fact that she wasn't the biological daughter of the King and Queen. It upset her, but she thinks it was her destiny, so she will let it go at once and accept the reality. To repay the King and Queen's love and kindness they give her, she must do her duty as the Princess of the Moonlight Kingdom. That's why she decided to lead some warriors in the war. She will prove to everyone that she is worthy of the title of a Princess.
It is already afternoon and the sun will set any time, so they must hurry. Despite the thick snow, they still manage to make the trap using their power. Cybelle brought some wizard warriors to make use of its power to do the traps she planned. After setting all the traps, everyone hides up in the trees and darkness. One of the wizard warriors transformed into a bird and flew away to give signals if the enemies were coming.
Meanwhile, some strong warriors together with Sabrina, Layla, Lucia, Clinton, and Vorges made their way towards the fifth mountain where the beasts are. They are planning a surprise attack. They have a lot of weapons that could kill the beasts, so they are more confident. In this war, all they need is faith and bravery. Although there's a split chance of winning this war, it is not a hindrance to back out, especially Sabrina, who is so eager to kill the beasts. Sabrina didn't talk the whole journey. She was thinking a lot of things, whether it's positive or negative thoughts. One thing is for sure, she couldn't die in the war because she still has a lot of dreams to fulfill, not just for herself but also for the people that still believe in her.
Alexandria's POV
I looked up to the sky. And the weather is still bad. Thick snow was now covering the entire place. Finding the diamonds will be hard if the climate will continue like this.
“The snow wasn't as thick as before. But now it is pouring continuously.” Azrael mumbled.
I didn't say a thing and scanned the entire mountain. We are currently riding at the back of the dragon. It is the dragon that became a tattoo on my wrist. Demonise is too wise to keep the dragon's soul with us. They could help us in the war. From up here, we could see the battalion of warriors walking towards the fourth mountain.
Using my sharp sight, I see movements from the fourth mountain. What caught my attention is the aura of one of the diamonds. I'm quite sure that one of the warriors got the diamonds. Who could it be?
“I sense the diamond in the fourth mountain. We must go down there in silence.” I said, and Azrael nodded. “But wait, if we will go there by using this dragon they might see us.” He said.
“I know, but I have an idea,” I replied while grinning. I am Alice-I mean, I am Alexandria, and using my real power and my sister's powers, I can execute my plan swiftly but safely.
"Hold on tightly. And don't make a noise.” I uttered, and he hummed. He wrapped his arms around my waist tightly. I quickly chanted a spell to make us invisible, then flew towards the fourth mountain.
I close my eyes and focus on my hearing. Their whispers caught my ears and learned the traps they made. Those people are from the Moonlight Kingdom, and they're waiting for the enemies to cross the mountain.
When we reached the fourth mountain, we quickly jumped to the fluffy and snowy ground, then the dragon came back to my wrist as a tattoo. We quickly hide in the trees and just use hand signals to communicate. Azrael and I can easily understand our hand signal. He took my hand and entwined with his. It took me a while to find the person who got the diamond. It's a werewolf girl. Based on her aura, she's quite strong. She had her hood on so I couldn't see her face. I pulled Azrael with me and walked in the girl's direction. She's suddenly getting alerted. Oh wow, she can sense us.
"Who are you? Show yourself.” the girl said sternly and took out her weapons. I smirked.
I undo our invisibility and looked at the girl firmly. “Who are you?!” she mumbled and drew her sword.
“I am Alexandria and this is my mate, Azrael,” I replied, and she was stunned while staring at me intently, wide-eyed. She's weird.
"A-Alexandria?” she murmured, and her mood suddenly changed. That made me curious. I read her mind and was a bit stunned, but I never showed it. What? Is she saying the truth?
"Alex, are you okay?" Azrael whispered and looked at me worriedly. I hummed quietly.
I'm going to talk to the girl. She had the diamond. Just watch and don't say anything. Leave this to me." I said to Azrael using a mind link, and he hummed in response and stayed by my side while also eyeing the girl in front of us.
The girl was staring at me intently and examining my appearance. I did the same to her. This girl is also the Princess of Moonlight Kingdom? We're sisters? But why didn't I see her before? My forehead creased as I kept reading her thoughts. I know I invaded her privacy, but I couldn't help it. “What's your name?” I asked, even though I already know her name. Her hands were clutching tightly on the sword while eyeing me fiercely and cleared her throat. “I am Cybelle Vermount, the Princess of Moonlight Kingdom,” she said confidently. I stared at her incredulously, not liking the way she introduced herself to me. Who does she think she is?
I fake a smile. This girl doesn't know I can read her mind. “Nice to meet you, Princess Cybelle Vermount,” I said, emphasizing her name.
She took off her hood and now I can see her face. Well, she's pretty too. My gaze went to her neck as I sensed the diamond in there. “I have something to ask you,” I uttered and walked towards her. She aimed her swords towards me.
"Stop right there. Don't go near me,” she said while gritting her teeth. I stop and stare at her unbelievably. This girl was threatened with my presence.
"Okay, I'll go straight to the point. There's something on your neck that I wanted. That diamond is mine.” I said directly to the point while glancing at her neck.
She looked surprised and creased her forehead, then arched one eyebrow. She laughed hysterically, "Seriously? This is yours?” she said while grabbing the necklace in her neck and showed me. She got the yellow diamond. “This is mine. I have had this since I was little, and how can you tell that this is yours? You're hilarious. Owning a thing that wasn't yours?” she said and scoffed. She had quite an attitude for a princess.
I crossed my arms in my chest and stared at her. “I can prove to you that it was mine,” I said, and she raised her eyebrows. Well, let's see. I raised my right hand and called out the spirit of the diamond. A few seconds later, the diamond shone brightly and Cybelle was stunned. “H-How?" Her eyes widened while staring at the shining diamond.
“I told you it was mine. It was lost decades ago.” I said and walked closer to her but she took a step backward so I stopped.
She looked at me skeptically. “No. I won't give it back. You lost it and I have found it. So, I am the new owner of this diamond now.” she said sternly while clenching her jaw.
Hah! I can't believe this girl. I looked at her intently and let out a deep sigh. “Look, I need the diamond. It is not just an ordinary diamond, Cybelle. Give me the diamond before it's too late. That diamond is the key in saving the world from chaos.” I took out my necklace and showed her the blue diamond buried in the iron wolf rune pendant.
She looked at the blue diamond intently. “There are six diamonds and I still need to find the others. Please give me back the diamond or else, I will get it from you by hook or by crook.” I uttered abruptly with a stern voice.
"Are you threatening me?” she scoffed.
"Why? Are you threatened? Look, I know why you dislike me. It's because I am the biological daughter of the King and Queen, right?” She was stunned and stepped backward. She clenched her fist tightly and gritted her teeth. “Cybelle, give me back the diamond. This isn't about me, but for everyone. This battle will be the end of us if I couldn't gather all the diamonds. Please, help me just this once. For the sake of the entire world.” I continued, but she hesitated and didn't spare me a glance. She's debating inside her head. I looked at Azrael when he walked closer to me.
Cybelle looked up and met my gaze. She released a deep sighed and slowly walked towards me. She handed the yellow diamond reluctantly. I smiled at her and looked at the yellow diamond in my palm that shone brightly upon contact with my skin. “Cybelle, thank you. I know we haven't met before because of some circumstances. But after this war, we will introduce ourselves as sisters. If you're worried about your title as a Princess, don't be. I won't take it from you. You deserve it." I assured her. She sighed in relief.
She didn't say anything and just looked at me in astonishment. I smile and embrace her, which she gasps in surprise. “Let's see each other again. Be careful. Enemies are coming this way.” I said and tapped her back, then released the hug while smiling. I was about to walk away when she grabbed my wrist. “Be careful,” she said, and I smiled.
“I will. Stay alive, Cybelle.” I said and waved at her. I held Azrael's hand, then summoned the dragon again. She gasped when she saw the dragon. This time, I didn't make us invisible. We quickly jumped at the back of the dragon, then flew upwards. I saw Cybelle look up at us once more before hiding in the darkness.
I glance at the two diamonds around my neck and soon it will be completed. There are still four more diamonds to go — I mean, it's three because the other diamond is in Lucia’s forehead. I hope I can find the other three diamonds today because there are only a few hours left before the bloodbath.
Azrael cleared his throat, “Cybelle and you are siblings?” he asked, and I hummed. “We are, but I am the biological daughter,” I said.
"You mean, she's adopted? Why didn't I see her in the palace before?” I nodded and replied, “She's been in the human world and came back when she learned about the war.” he hummed.
“How did you find out? Did the King and Queen tell you about it?" he asked curiously. I shook my head. “No. I read her mind when she reacted upon hearing my name because she seemed surprised. When I hugged Cybelle, I saw her past. I feel bad for her though because she seems upset about the truth.” I said while sighing. Though, I'm a little upset because mama and papa didn't tell me about Cybelle before.
We became quiet while looking down below to see the battalions of enemies. I smiled when he tightened his embrace. “Alex, I know you're strong, but still, I am afraid for your safety. I can't lose you...” he whispered. I looked at him sideways and met his gaze. He looked at me like I am the only girl in the world. The way he held me, it feels like he wouldn't want to let me go ever again. I smiled and held his hand that was wrapped around my waist.
"Azrael, you can't lose me. If ever I die in this war, I'll find a way to come back to you.” I said and gave him a peck on his lips. He frowned and stared at me.
“Promise?” he whispered in my ears that sent shivers all over my body. I released a deep breath and said, “I promise.” He tightened his hold around my waist and said, “Then, I'll wait for you. This time I mean it. You're my everything and my world, Alexandria, and I'll do everything I can to keep you safe. And don't push me away ever again because I'm not planning on giving you up.” My heart was pounding inside my chest like crazy. My breathing hitch when he kissed my earlobe and gently bit it. I bit my lips to stop myself from moaning. “I love you, Alexandria...” he whispered, and my heart made an erratic sound, then I closed my eyes while smiling.
I look at him and smile genuinely. “I love you too, Azrael...” I said while staring at his eyes. He looked at me in surprise and a wide smile spread on his lips while his eyes sparkling and staring at me lovingly. He closed the gap between us and savored my lips gently and passionately. I responded to the kiss with the same passion. I can smell his strong arousal, and that made me blush profusely. The kiss lasted for a few seconds. We pressed our forehead together and smiled sweetly. I breathed heavily and said, “Let's get our mission done faster.”
"Okay," he said. Then we both looked in every direction. Using my sharp sight like an owl, I saw a lot of beasts on the fifth mountain. Oh no, there's a lot of them. And the problem is, I can sense the diamond in the fifth mountain. I hope it wasn't a powerful beast that holds the diamond or else, it will be hard to get. Oh silly me, I can kill those beasts in just a snap of my fingers.
