"Taylor." I flashed a smile at Taylor and the guard that escorted her to my room and hugged her.

She hugged me back. "Hope you loved your cookies?" She asked

"They were delicious," I replied. "You should give me your recipe. I need to know every single thing you put in that cookie." I moved out of the way and beckoned on her to come in. "Come in, please."

I waved the guard goodbye when she walked in, closed the door and locked it immediately.

"Ah, Alpha Leo, greetings." She bowed her head in greeting with her back facing me.

Taking the opportunity, I brought out an handkerchief that was laced with sedatives earlier and used it to cover her nose.

Before her body touched the ground and made too much noise, I caught her and Leo joined me too.

In thirty minutes time, we tied her up and Alpha Leo brought a gun to her head. The plan was simple. Without alerting anybody, we would interrogate Taylor and find out if she was working for anybody. If she was, the next thing was to find out who it was.

And until she told us everything we needed to know, she was not leaving the room. Kidnapping Taylor and hiding her in our room when we could have just thrown her into the dungeon looked crazy, but we wanted to be as discreet as possible without alerting anybody and this seemed like the best way.

Taylor finally woke up and my mate poked her head harder with his gun.

"If you shout, I'll shoot immediately," Leo warned immediately she opened her eyes and she bit her lower lip in a bid to suppress the scream that almost escaped her mouth.

She raised her hand.

"What?" I asked.

"Can I talk?" She asked in a soft voice, her eyes on the gun in Leo's hand.

"Shouting is different from talking. If your voice is louder than normal, then you are dead meat," I replied and she nodded.

"What is happening?" She asked and I brought the cookies she sent to me to her.

She turned pale immediately she saw that the box of cookies she gave me was barely touched.

"Wh-why are you showing me this?"

"Your quivering voice has confirmed everything," I said casually and she panicked.

"I'm not the one who wants your baby dead," she blurted and I smirked.

"So, someone sent you to kill my heir," Leo growled and I signaled him to calm down.

We had to be extra careful.

"I-I did not say so. I just brought the cookies as a gift to appreciate you for-"

"Just quit the lies," I interrupted. "I know that those cookies were meant to abort my pregnancy and I know that you've tried this before."

"And from this short interaction," Leo continued. "We can tell that you were sent. Who sent you?"

She looked away. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Leo turned to me, signaled me to take over and I did.

I struck Taylor across the face immediately I got to her. "If you want to make this hard for me, then you should have a rethink, because if I want to beat you up, I won't be doing so only because you are making things hard for me. I'll beat up for gaining my trust a little only for you to betray me. Taylor you and your mother showed me hatred while we were growing up. I was ready to forget everything. I accepted you as a family member and this is how you pay me back."

"Accept me? The only thing you do is to flaunt your position as the Luna. You have never for once accepted me. I don't want to be under. It's what I have strived for my whole life. To never be below you. So, I had to do what I had to do to make sure I don't remain below you for too long."

I opened my mouth to say something, but before I could, there was a knock on the door.

"Remember, shout and you are dead."

Leo and I immediately took her to the bathroom after taping her mouth. Afterwards, Leo went to the door to check who it

was.

"Mr. Rio is here," the person at the door said. Thirty minutes later, we were at the living room with Mr. Rio.

"Do you have anything against Sebastian?" I went straight to the point. I was not ready to ask if he knew that the person who had killed his colleague was Sebastian or not.

He had to know already, so why not hasten the process?

"Yes, I do and I am ready to talk now. He was with my mother and sister. That was how he got me to leave, but it's been months now and I have not heard from them. With glue things are looking, I don't think I have anything to lose now. He has taken everything and the only thing I want is for him to pay."

My face fell. He helped me prove my innocence, and at the end, he lost his mother and sister because of my negligence. I felt bad for asking for his help again. Noticing how downcast I looked, Leo reached out to my hand and gave it a small squeeze. He gave me a reassuring smile too and I smiled back at him.

"They might still be alive. We just have to catch him, threaten to kill him and have him return your mother and sister," I said, hoping that the moon goddess will grant me strength to fulfill this promise of mine.

He said nothing and just looked away. "I have something against Sebastian though."

At that moment, I recalled that I had left one of the bathroom windows open. Taylor was a warrior in training. There was a high chance of her escaping.

"We have to go back to the room," I blurted out to Leo, interrupting the conversation we were having with Mr. Rio.

We rushed back to the room and checked the bathroom and like I had predicted, Taylor was nowhere to be found. Leo's phone beeped and he stiffened immediately he checked his phone.

Noticing this, I asked; "What is wrong?"

He looked terrified. "They want me to get another Luna. The news of you miscarrying our pup has gotten out."
