Chapter His Uncle 110
Chapter 110
ALPHA ATLAS'S POV
I have challenged quite a large number of people, so I knew I had enemies.
Like the Gamma I reprimanded for trying to embezzle money meant for the pack. I sacked him and got myself another
Gamma.
Or, the warrior I caught trying to use his strength to oppress the weak or the Alphas I stood up to and fought.
I was very much aware of the fact that I had bazillions of enemies, both the one I knew and the ones I don't.
So, I made sure my security was tight. I knew for sure that the ones I knew would never be able to come at least one thousand feet near my mansion or even have access to it in whatever way possible.
This person who tried to poison me was definitely someone I knew nothing of, but was close to me. Or perhaps, a past enemy of my parent.
"I don't know who it might be," I said sincerely. She nodded and then looked away.
Everywhere was silent for some minutes.
"You're not going back to that coffee shop," I said, breaking the silence and Elaina looked at me, sharply. She frowned a little, but I had made up my mind. Whether she liked it or not, she was definitely not going back to that disrespectful wolf.
"Of course, I am not. Did you see how his daughter treated mine? Plus, that environment is not good for me. This is the first time I am experiencing something like this."
I smiled. "So, you're coming back to the mansion with me."
She scoffed and gave me a 'are you kidding me?' kind of look. "Of course not. You also disrespected me. The last thing I want is to receive favors from a wolf who rejected me."
"I had to," I said and regretted saying so immediately. She can read that as anything and get angrier at me. "It's not about you. It's me. A mate is not a good idea in my life right now."
She cocked an eyebrow. "A mate is one of the things you need in your life right now. You're an Alpha of a very powerful pack." Then, she rolled her eyes. "I am not interested in being your mate anyways. Being a Luna is just too much. You would be scrutinized by every single person in the pack. I just don't like the idea of being near a ex-mate. You rejected me and I have accepted the rejection. We should go our separate ways and never see each other again."
My heart sank. For some reason, I did not like this idea. I still wanted to keep on seeing her.
"Do you have another job?" I asked. She did not have to take care of only herself. She had to take care of Emma too. She needed a job and jobs these days were hard to come by.
"What if I bought the coffee shop for you?" I asked.
She frowned. "That is worse." She looked at me for a while, before adding, "If you're trying to compensate me for rejecting me, you do not have to. Everybody is entitled to their choices. If you really want to help me, you will go your way and not try to get involved in my life again."
She scrunched up her nose and I was immediately reminded of someone.
Athena.
My mind flickered to a few years ago when Athena was still around and we were still kids.

"Don't go near that waterfall, you will get wet," I recalled warning Athena.

Without paying any heed to my warning, she headed for the waterfall and I had to run over to her and stop her from going
near.
She scrunched up her nose just like Elaina was doing so now. And, I could not help but feel that there were similarities between Elaina's looks and hers.
"Are you even listening?" Elaina asked, taking me away from memory lane. It was at that moment that I realized that I was smiling.
"Why are you smiling?" Elaina looked a little displeased. "Do you think I am joking?"
"Of course not. You just remind me of a really old close childhood friend of mine," I confessed.
"Oh." Her facial expression changed. I could tell that she was not expecting my answer.
My phone rang out and I went outside to answer the call. My dad was the one calling or should I say my parents, because as usual whenever one of them calls, both of them talked to me.
"Atlas, how are you doing? Hope you're okay?" It was my mother From the tone of her voice, I could tell that something was
wrong.
"What is wrong?" I asked and this time around, my father answered me.
"I know this will sound disappointing, but I just got information that a certain prison guard helped a few of my prisoners escape going to prison, especially those taken to the Dungeon of the Abyss. Here is the thing, your mom and I worry that one of our greatest enemies were one of the people the guard helped."
""Who is that?"
"Sebastian. After your mother and I tortured him for months, we decided to finish him off and asked that he is taken to the Dungeon of the Abyss. We don't know if he was truly taken there or not, but we know Sebastian. If something like this truly happened, then we are ninety five percent sure that Sebastian was one of those who got helped by that prison guard. We don't know for sure yet, so we just called to make sure you're all right."
"Atlas," My mother called out. "Are you alright? I have to ask again. Did you notice anything strange? If you did, you tell us. You're an Alpha now, but we are still your parents and we have more experience in things like this." should
"Nothing is wrong," I lied, but my mother did not believe me. According to her, I did not sound like I was saying the truth.
After an attempt to convince them that I was okay, the call ended.
"Why did
you
"About what?"
lie to them?" I turned around. Elaina was standing behind me the whole time.
"About getting poisoned." I said nothing in reply. I could not reply her question.
"I will find whoever tried to poison me myself."
"I can help you. Everyone thinks I am an irrelevant maid. I can use this to my advantage and get you good information."
"I can find him myself."
"Well, if you want me to go back to the mansion with you, you must let me help you. Me coming back with hands and that of Emma's. So, am I helping or not?"
