Chapter 106
“Come out here, you killer!” Alvira raged at Elise outside her chamber doors, gaining the attention of onlookers. She had been under house arrest, but now she was let out, causing commotion because of an emergency she requested.
Elise walked out to see a small crowd gathered outside, with Alvira clutching her child too tightly, who looked in pain and had a red mark on her lips that seemed to be blood.
“What the hell is this, Alvira? You are not supposed to be here,” Rygan muttered the moment he came from his chambers after just a few hours of returning from his run.
The dark eye bags under his eyelids could show he’d barely slept a wink, and right now he could barely look at Elise without feeling that constant hurt of not being the one she was with.
“I know I’m being locked up, but that witch over there has poisoned my daughter!” she screamed. “I know that I did wrong things to you. Elise, but to hurt my child? You are a sick monster You better hope she lives” She accused, pointing a finger at Elise.
“What in the moon’s name are you talking about? I never touched your daughter,” she raged as Kaide made his way to the middle to get Alvira away from them. His gaze lowered like a kicked puppy that didn’t dare meet his alphas”.
“Then you wouldn’t mind if I healed your daughter so she would tell the actual truth, Elise countered, but Alvira grabbed her child closer.

Elise landed a slap, this time on Kaide’s face. “Better settle your dog, or this time I won’t hold back on my punishment, sh
warned the beta.
But she could see a mischievous glare in his gaze that quickly shifted to a normal one, like he was pretending. For sure, they are both trying to set her up again.
“Don’t you f**g come near her,” Rygan warned Kaide, who had stepped back, but Alvira looked insulted.
“Kaide has done it; I should be the one being protected from her; don’t you see how she treats me? Rygan, I told you she wants nothing but to ruin me and your family! With her and her b***d child,” she calls, and that’s the last straw as Elise lunges for her.
A part of her hesitates to attack because of the unconscious child in Alvira’s hands, so she grips Alvira’s face instead, making sure Alvira shows fear in her gaze.
“Never f**g bring my son into this! You know very well that I will never bring another innocent child into your wicked

“Rygan, please help; she is hurting me and wants to hurt our child.”
“Elise, Kayla had nothing to do with this. Rygan she is an innocent Kaide starts, and Rygan moves forward to cover Elise’s away from both of them.
“I told you I would do anything for you, and I’ll do it the right way, El
“Do not call me that,” she warned, She hated the way he called to her softly, his voice filled with that yearning. She had tried to make peace with what was left of his family, but now she’d rip the bandage clean off.
“Do you think I am crazy and the irrational one, Rygan? Or do you think I’m still an innocent girl who is scared of taking at life? They locked me up and accused me of killing your child,. Even when I wanted you to do something, I wanted you to fight for me, and you let them win… you let them…” she says, making every word hurt Rygan, who looked ashamed.
“You want to know why they wanted me dead? You feel it too, who Kayla’s father truly is. There was a beat of solution before she turned fully to Alvira, her eyes glazed with a wicked glare. “And the truth behind Alana Beddor died,” she snarled with venom as the realization fully settled in Rygan’s eyes.
Gasps escaped everyone’s lips from the crowd. Alvira had gathered at that moment, and Alvira’s eyes widened. Rygan stiffened his steps as he looked at Elise and then at Alvira.
And for the first time, Alvira had gone quiet, a lone tear of guilt and horror dropped down her face as she looked at Rygan and said. “I’m sorry,” an apology and something more that he couldn’t read.
“What do you-”
Boom! The sound of an explosion set the whole room apart as the compound trembled from its quaking and shattered walls as bullets flew in.
Dust filled the room immediately, leaving Elise with blurred vision. Not noticing the large boulder that cracked from the ceiling and was about to fall on Elise, Rygan moved in first, running head-in first before slamming into Elise and pulling her to the side before the boulder stone hit the ground.
He laid on top of her, protecting her from the debris as he formed from its crumbling impact, with Elise still wrapped tightly in his protective hold
The whole compound falls into unexpected chaos and confusion from the attack, as they suspect humans immediately. With sounds of screams and panic reaching Rygan and the people now covered in the aftermath of the explosion, her instincts of panic rose as she stood up again, immediately hearing the pained whimpers of one of the delta guards from the black moon pack.
She races to him, seeing that his leg was crushed by boulders. “Don’t worry, it’s alright,” she says, putting her hands on the burned flesh. The man hissed in pain as Elise’s powers began to warm, sealing and salvaging what’s left of his leg and helping another male’s arm.
The whispers of relief, thanks, and tears for Luna echo before she stands up. Rygan instead watched in awe of her powers that had bloomed, and everyone was shocked that not only was she a telepathic but a gifted healer, a special wolf.
“Thank you for saving my men,” he says to Elise. But as she looked around, panic settled in her when she heard another sound of another explosion rocking the ground, but this time on the south wing of the compound where Ethan and Hayden were.
“No,” she muttered as she ran out, finding a way out of the wreckage. She feels Rygan’s hand on her wrist bite, stopping her enough for her to whirl around with her eyes in full-blown panic.
“Where are you going?”
“Hayden and my son, our son is in danger!” She calls, racing out the door into the fields, not carrying out the explosion flying towards her or Rygan calling her back.
She reached the open meadow, sniffing out the faint smell of blood that got intense, her heart racing as she ran faster, but not until she came into view of a giant gray wolf by the tree.
Hayden! She races to see that he’s been shot by silver arrows, one in his back and one by his arm, as his large wolf lies by its right side. “F**k.” Rygan calls behind her the disaster caused by the littered bodies of over six human men.
Elise trails a hand to his chest to badly feel a slow heartbeat. She looks to see the grayish blood on his wolf’s lips. Elise knows it’s Vardnom. “No, no, come on!” She mutters as she crawls to him. With shaky hands, she turns him over to pull an arrow out of his chest, earning a grunt that starts his shift.
Now he was back to being human but still heavily poisoned as he gurgled out air of poison. “Stay with me, Hayden, please,” she whispered as she began to push all her healing into his system.
“His artery is blocked; we need to stab a direct wound in his lungs to get the toxins out,” Rygan calls, and Elise snarls at him. “Shut the hell up, and don’t you dare bring any weapon close to him; I will heal him,” she snaps at Rygan.
“Yes, your healing works miracles, but you are healing and, at the same time, closing all the possible wounds the toxin can escape.
Trust me, Elise, this will help, and the moment it does, you can heal him back. I promise you he will not die,” he assures her.
She stared into his gaze for an eternity, her eyes already filled with tears, before she nodded. “Do it,” she said, taking Hayden’s hands into hers.
Rygan immediately pulls for his dagger and settles on Hayden’s chest. They both lock eyes as Elise givès a telepathic count as Rygan pierces it into Hayden’s chest. The alpha’s eyes open as his chest rises in a heave from shock.
Rygan’s dagger was covered with the Hayden grey blood-filled vile toxins that gushed out, and the moment it was far more than enough, Elise began the healing. His breath finally calms, and her tears fall,
“Hey, hey,” she called, kissing his lips-a scene that drives a punch to Rygan’s heart. “I’m here…”
“Angel, Ethan, he…” he groans from the pain.
“Where is he? Where is Ethan?” She called with tears in her eyes as she told Hayden, whose eyes turned sad and filled with regret as he clutched hard on her hand.
“I’m sorry, Elise. They ambushed me,” he starts, struggling with his breath, his words sending down a shiver of terror as she faces her.
“They took him.”
