Chapter 33
Rourke Diary
Yesterday, Archie came in to my office with five other mutts and tried to bully me into attacking the Maddow camp. They ranted and raved. Made a big show. I said no. They came back today asking for a public meeting. I said no. But this time they stayed in my office. They’d organized it pretty well considering. Everyone was waiting for us outside. So I had no choice and I went out there.
I asked Archie what was going on. He said I was too soft and it would cost their lives. He said it loud enough for everyone to hear.
I expected something like this from Archie. The man is dumber than my socks.
So I turned to the crowd and told them that attacking the Maddow camp was foolhardy. That many of us would die. I said that we should concentrate on moving to our new home, but hey, if you people want Archie here to be your leader, I’ll be more than happy to step aside. I have a stock portfolio to look after. The folks relaxed a bit at that and simply wandered off. Archie was pissed.
